The Cashmere Lounge is a very cool atmospheric neighbourhood restaurant. Menu offers something for everyone. The quality of the ingredients skills of the chefs combine to create dishes that will bring a smile to your face. Well worth taking an Uber to get to this relaxing welcoming restaurant. Highly recommended 👌

I had a wonderful evening at Cashmere Lounge. The food was excellent, the wine list too extensive for me to choose so I went with the recommendations and they absolutely know their business. What a beautiful match. I'll definitely come back

The days of local shops have long gone, but the three remaining buildings next to Khandallah train station have been well restored into the Cashmere Lounge, a fine dining restaurant and bar. The wine list is comprehensive, the food menu pleasingly concise but covers most tastes and diets. The entrée platter was full of interest, besides olives and sun-dried tomatoes, cured meats and crispbread there was a small assortment of nuts. The pork belly crackling was perfect for me and the side dishes of greens and truffle fries very generous. As the restaurant is across the three ex-shops each room has its own ambience. Staff were attentive and friendly making for a perfect evening out.

Loved the truffle chips with parmigiano here. Strange conbination, which sounds more a "look at a fancy and cool we are" rather than "just good food", but still yummy. Good choice of local beers as well. Last but not least, the staff is very nice, welcoming and well prepared. Recommend

My wife and I have been on the search for a really, really great steak. And tonight, after more than a year of searching high and low in New Zealand, we found it. Great food is simple, yet elegant. It speaks for itself. And boy, this meal didn't shut up. The service was impeccable. We arrived a little late and the owner accommodated us, and delivered a beautiful meal in a relaxed and contemporary setting. I couldn't recommend them more strongly. And being right next to Khandallah railway station makes it really convenient.

For us, my husband and I, it's one of the two places to go in Khandallah ❤️✨ When we are here, we don't regret the town and its opportunities... Dinner or brunch we've felt always welcomed. The food has a lot of "heart" and creativity. The atmosphere is always charming. Think to make a reservation...

Mark is always very welcoming and the staff friendly. We often come here for drinks, really love the classy but relaxed feel of this place.

Loved our meal at Cashmere Lounge last night. I had the Gnocchi, Lamb and Crème Brule and everything tasted great. Presentation was also a highlight. The staff were lovely, personable and knowledgeable on their wines. They were able to find me the perfect drop to share with my dinner. Will be back for more!

I liked the ambience, the service and the overall experience. The menu is eclectic so not for everybody but I ordered the fish (of the day?) and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was great, very friendly and informal, while providing a professional service. Not cheap but good value.

We had dinner at Cashmere lounge last night. Everything was delicious, highlights were the Pate, Crab, Beef, Pork and the Croissant bread and butter pudding! Can’t wait to try new dishes soon.

We've had two meals at Cashmere Lounge and both have been excellent. Fantastic food, beautifully prepared and presented. Cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff. They even offered kid friendly food options which weren't on the menu. We'll definitely be back.

Lovely meals and service. The lamb was so tender there was little need for a knife. Salmon was delightful. Chicken pate and soft crab were great. OK OK I also had creme brulee too which I shouldn't have. A very pleasant dining experience indeed.

Food was delicious, fresh and rich in flavour, service friendly and had a pretty decent drink selection. Would love to eat here more often if the wallet allowed.

Came a few days ago for my partners birthday. Unfortunately his steak came out quite overcooked when he had ordered rare. We asked for a replacement but I had to eat on my own for 20 or so mins until the next steak came out, then he was eating his on his own. Had I waited, my food would be cold. His second steak was indeed perfect which is why it is still deserving of some stars, however it was pretty disappointing as a dining experience both of us having to eat on our own. You’d expect a nice restaurant to offer a drink or perhaps dessert as some sort of apology but nothing at all was offered to rectify the situation, which is disappointing when you’re paying a lot to be at a nice restaurant. Overall, good food but service could have been better.

My partner and daughter thought we'd try this restaurant as it rated well on Google, and we wanted a nice place to celebrate a birthday. My partner and I ordered the beef fillet and my daughter tried the risotto. We also ordered sides of truffle fries and seasonal vegetables - beans and broccolini. It took a while to get service as the restaurant was quite full, and a little under staffed. However once orders were placed dinner arrived soon after. The beef fillet was served with braised beef cheek. Presentation was good and the food flavoursome. The seasonal vegetables were excellent, and along with the risotto were the highlight on the menu. We were very pleased with how accomodating the kitchen was, as a child's portion of risotto was not a menu option. However when I asked they came back and said they could do this. They also accommodated a request for a half size portion of fries, as when we looked at the standard serving on an adjacent table it was very large and we wouldn't have gotten around to finishing it. The bill for two mains, drinks, 2 sides and the kids' portion of risotto came to $133.50, which we thought was a good price. Because we had birthday cake waiting at home we skipped the desserts. Overall 4 stars.

The nicest place to eat in the Northern suburbs. The food is delicious, edgy and beautiful. The staff are friendly and discreet. The venue is fantastic, a historical shop near the Khandallah train station which has plenty of parking. Check out the little lounge at the back, a perfect place to sit with a wine around a fire on those cold Wellington winter evenings.

We received excellent service and food was ample and delicious. All six in our party enjoyed their choice and felt both food and presentation was faultless. Chefs obviously take great pride in their work and the resulting meals are memorable. Excellent and interesting wine list at reasonable prices. Perfect evening- thank you.

Tucked away in the heat of Khandallah - this fantastic little restaurant provides an excellent selection of wine and great food. Good service and amazing atmosphere make this a brilliant restaurant to hang out - or for a special occasion.

As a restaurant in the burbs, it screams intimate town location. Classy, really good staff attentitive, quality food, good Alcahol selection if that's what you're after. Definitely recommend.

Great food, owner Mark is a great guy, very friendly. Had our baby with us, sorted us with warm milk at no charge. Had the fillet, fantastic. Little pricey but easily worth it. Highly recommended if your anywhere in the area

Easy to park around or to come from train. When we were there, the service was quick. There is a kid menu. The wine menu is large, ecclesiastical, and tasty. Warm atmosphere. I should have marked 5 stars if the waiter have been a little bit more enthusiast and friendly (but it was professional). We'll see the next time.

Warm, friendly atmosphere, most welcome on a cold, wet night. We were fitted in on a very busy night, yet the service was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our meals, which were delicious.

The menu includes an excellent selection of both small plates and full dinner items. It's obvious on delivery to the table that a lot of work has been put into the presentation, but the flavours have certainly not been forgotten. Fantastic options for dessert and the coffee is well made. Friendly helpful service. Amazing for a neighbourhood restaurant

Beautiful venue, great service. The food is well presented. The overall experience could be improved if the condiments with the mains are tastier. Esp considering the high end price for mains.

Maybe still one of Wellingtons best kept secrets... but shouldn't be! Atmosphere, service, menu and amazing wine and beverage list make for a perfect place to visit for a casual drink, a special occasion ... and everything in between.

Delicious !!!! What a gem of a restaurant ! They're a little pricier than most, but the taste makes up for it. If you can, go with a large group so you can order one of everything on the menu (to share) and experience how amazing the flavours are! the location is out of the way and the parking around it isn't easy, but it's worth it. Make a booking, you might not get a seat otherwise, it's that popular !

Love this place! One of my favourites they do a great brunch and coffee on the weekend. The dinner menu is also delicious with a great atmosphere. Friendly staff and beautiful food! Worth a visit

Had a great time here. Brunch was tasty and coffee was good. Baby Kirk enjoyed himself despite the fairly loud music. Bit of a mix up with the meals but the service was so good it more than made up for it.

Did not make it on time for dinner so had few drinks instead. Czech Pilsner is the best beer I have ever drank. Place looks great with exposed bricks and iron fittings. Comfy seats and fire place make you feel like at home. Owner Mark is pleasant fella who provides brilliant service. Selection of wines is impressive too. Do check this place out and I am sure you'll be back as I will my next trip to Wellington

Very tasty and nicely presented food. Excellent service. We have enjoyed this cosy restaurant a few times and it has always been great.

A great place with a chilled ambience. The new menu is a must try. The Katsu Chicken burger is amazing, and I know they're just fries, but every one, a crispy delight dipped in the spicy aoli. Also impressive was the Brioche French Toast, with grilled bananas and very compote.

Always a great welcome and atmosphere. Usually a couple of veggy options, but Mark is wonderfully accommodating if he knows in advance that your coming ☺. He's also an excellent sommelier, so if you're unsure of a wine or beer match, just ask.
