Reviews of Floriditas
A.
First time out since Level 3 and wanted a mid-city high class place to take my out-of-town guest. This was absolutely perfect— food was delicious and duck leg cooked to perfection, everything plated well. But the cream on the top was our suburb waiter who was well versed in the menus and wine list, friendly, good looking even with the COVID mask.
A.
Restaurant with a nice atmosphere and the food is devine! They have plenty of vegan options on their lunch menu and the crispy polenta fritters were superb! Would definitely come back next time I'm in Wellington.
S.
The food and service was great! The fish hash and the fish pie, both were yummm. This was me going out to a restaurant for the first time after moving to Level 2. That might have made the food taste even better. 😁
X.
We went there for brunch and even though it’s busy the service and food are both excellent. We didn’t wait long at all to be seated and our food also arrived very soon. Potato hash is yummy as always and eggs still look so perfect😊. Thank you so much for the awesome front of the house and chef team at Floriditas who make our day so beautiful. You guys are the best❤️

Went there for brunch. Fish pie was very good, crunchy on top and fish was cooked perfectly. However the coffee tasted bitter and burned - if I return I’ll avoid black coffee. Wasn’t a fan of the mimosa; it was quite strong and very small for the price (admittedly I am not a mimosa expert so maybe that’s just what they are like). Good atmosphere and service.
Overall the food seemed great and I would have given 4 stars but the drinks let the place down for me.
D.
Great setting. Superb service and even better breakfast. Welcoming staff and were happy to cater for a young crazy 3 year old. Highly recommended.
T.
I really love the atmosphere here. Brunch, lunch and dinner is always a great experience and the food is good. Their fish pie is bloody good. I loved their gluten free bread which although quite crunchy was yum! Really nice to have a different gf bread experience 🙂
G.
Great brunch spot. Fish hash was fantastic. Apple pie french toast was quite good too. Coffee was excellent. Fish hash and housemade hot chocolate pictured. Look forward to going back on future weekends.
A.
Beware! The kimchi Reuben sandwich contains no pastrami or corned beef. However this does not detract from a delicious twist on a classic. Bubbly ambiance, delicious coffee, good selection of specialty teas, amazing desserts(pictured) charming staff. What’s not to like?
Highly recommended!
A.
Lovely place for breakfast. We got the Avocado on toast and the Apple pie French toast - they were both great. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
A.
Always a favourite. But maybe some garnish with the poached eggs and bacon guys? Looked very bland. Green eggs and ham still one if my go-to meals for breakfast. See what I mean, from one of your competitors ~ looks much more appetising
S.
Dinner tonight was sensational. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I had the cheese doughnut, those delicious dinner rolls with butter, the pumpkin dish and confit potatoesand the pavlova. I cannot wait to dine here again. Thanks guys. Beautiful food and beautiful service.

I have been looking for a place and a menu that will suit our different tastes. I was also looking rather for a quiet place that will allow to have conversations at the table at the normal voice.
This place is aesthetically pleased with dimmed lights and nice music on the background. Tables are decorated nicely and have a good size, so you dont have to kick anyone with your elbows and constantly adjusting a chair when people passing by.
The staff seems friendly and attentive. We were welcomed once we walked in and seated. A server seems to know menu well. The menu offers 2 ($55) or 3 ($70) course meal. At the beginning we were offered complimentary bread rolls with butter. Bread was nice and warm with black sesame seeds on top. The butter was whipped and easy to spread.
We have tried several dishes: venison carpaccio, trevolli sashimi, and fig salad. I love venison and I found carpaccio outstanding. It had a light dressing, and two types of onions: fresh shallot and crispy fried red onion. Delicious ! Fig salad was great ! Very nice combo of figs, red and yellow beets, and watermelon. The dressing was delicious. Sashimi was also outstanding. Portions were great! For main we tried lamb, marker fish and gnocchi. Lamb was nicely roasted, not chewy, very flavorful. Market fish that supposed to be poached came ( server has informed ahead of time with a problem with a sous vide machine) pan seared with a very nice risotto and fresh thinly sliced radish on top. This was delightful ! The radish made a great combo to go with a fish and risotto was very creamy and tasty. Gnocchis have a very fluffy structure. Although they were made with a goat cheese, it was not overpowering at all. I would recommend this dish to try. Gnocchi were served on a bed of chopped zucchini. The pesto sauce made a final touch to that dish. We also had to try dessert dishes. We chose brown sugar pavlova and fejoya crem brûlée. Pavlova was decorated with fresh strawberries on top. Crem brûlée came with a fejoya sorbet on the side. We all thought that the dinner was delicious and portions were a good size. We really enjoy the dinner and was happy with a choice of the restaurant! Definitely will be back !
Few things I thought could be better :
-There was a 15% surcharge that I was not aware off while making reservation. I have not seen that on their website either. However, in the email where they asked to confirm the reservation was a fine print of extra holiday surcharge of 15% and 2 % for paying with credit card ( this one i knew);
- There is a problem with a sous vide machine that forced them to change of fish preparation. At the time when we were explained items on the menu, I was interested and asked how the fish is prepared. The server replied that its poached. That was good for me and so I ordered that. A few minutes later a server came back to me saying that they cannot prepare it poached as they are having problem with an aparatus and I was asked if I would like to get anything else. It was not that tragical for me as i wanted to try the fish, but that might upset someone else. I have to say that our server was very kind to offer me to have a look at menu again.
- when we walked in, servers were hanging out at the bar area in the dining room and having a chat with a bartender. We were first guests in the house, as they just opened. It looked little bit unprofessionally.
r.
The food is amazing the service is amazing and so incredibly helpful and welcoming.
10/10 would recommend. I wish I knew the servers name but he deserves a promotion or something
S.
Had the most glossy, silky scrambled eggs on house made sourdough. The bread was generously buttered and the texture was almost flaky like a pasty. My coffee was rich and smooth. For the early birds, this is one of the few places in Wellington open for breakfast at 7am.
M.
They only had scone the first time I walked in. I was wanting to have a muffin but it turned out the scone is the best scone ever. I don't really like scone but now everytime I come to Wellington, I always come to have the dates scone with a flat white in the morning.
C.
I booked breakfast for my work team here while staying in Wellington because of the reviews I read online about their eggs. And the scrambled eggs with glazed ham off the bone was delish, not ur usual creamy scramble but buttery was scrummy.
Also the lovely girl who waited on us was very pleasant. 😊
S.
We went for dinner this evening and everything was just perfect.
What a great place. Food was absolutely fantastic. Terrific menu & very well priced for the quality of both food & service.
M.
The best apple pie french toast ever. Just delicious. Service was awesome. Great place for meeting up with friends for brunch or just try a dessert.
T.
Enjoyed a Saturday brunch at Floriditas.
They do not take bookings for brunch and it is a very popular place. Despite this, the restaurant is large and the wait didn't seem to be long.
The food was nice. Our table ordered the Mushrooms on toast, Green eggs and Ham (Eggs Benedict with green hollandaise sauce), 2 coffees and a green smoothie.
The interior of the building dining room is nice with high ceilings and the individual bathrooms were a good touch.
The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that our service was not good. It was clear that the lady who served us was unenthusiastic about her job and did not want to be there. After ordering coffees we had to wait over 10 minutes for our food order to be taken, all this time I noticed other servers attending to their tables. I understand that people sometimes have a bad day at work, but this service really left a bad impression.
Overall I am glad I came here. I'll come back, but if i see the same server I wont bother.
T.
Delicious brunch and coffee. Excellent service - friendly staff and quick with our food. Highly recommend for brunch!
M.
We had breakfast at Floriditas, and oh my, was it good. I had the porridge with poached pears and it was so delicious. Fabulous service and such a lovely bright atmosphere. I would highly recommend here, can't wait to go back.
E.
We popped in for dessert and disappointed ourselves by not coming in on a totally empty stomach. The menu was splendidly unique with diverse seasonal ingredients. We received outstanding customer service; prompt, friendly, & courteous. Because the menu is ever changing, they offer to post a copy to you if you'd like, which I found a very sweet touch. The atmosphere is lively but not rowdy in an elegantly decorated restaurant with warm lighting to suit. Would highly recommend
S.
Lovely meal. Their ingredients are fabulous. Really great colourful eggs, amazing black pudding with my order. Also welcome and getting us a table was really good.
D.
It's been over a year since we last dined at Floriditas and it's still as great as ever. You could pick this restaurant up and put it in the centre of Melbourne or a number of other great cities in the world and it would fit right in. The service is great and the food is delicious. Fabulous desert menu as well. Loved it!!
J.
one of Wellington’s greatest eateries, Floriditas sits on landmark status as an essential stop fo anyone passing through. Always delicious, with a stand out menu. Good coffee and an expertise in eggs.
The beautiful interior remains timeless and well kept, always clean and fresh. Good use of space ensure big groups can feel cozy while avoiding any feeling of clutter.
Busy staff make for quick and friendly service. Walk-ins are preferred so don’t be deterred if you can’t book online. You’ll most likely get a seat within 10 minutes of arrival. Plus, they’re open on public holidays and without surcharge!
The food is spectacular. Whether your in for a continental breakfast, an option of the ten eggs dishes, or a heartier lunch you’ll be treated. The fritters are delicious, the chicken burger is more innovative than plenty of burger places, and the Bostock chicken dish is delicious just to look at!
Go here for a consistently excellent meal and enjoy being treated to great service, wine, and food!
C.
Ordinary food, high prices. Nice people. The food sounds interesting on the menu and is competently if uninspiringly executed. The portions however are very small. $34 for a small duck leg and small salad is too much. The cheddar and Eccles cake was tasty but the three Eccles cakes were the size of quail eggs. Not going back.
A.
A must do when visiting the capital, very stylish and delicious food, A+ staff will return
C.
I have loved having brunch at this gorgeous eatery for years and it never disappoints. Long live Floriditas:)
M.
everything was good and i had a very nice brunch here. took off 1 star because the coffee was average taste which i expected it was better.
J.
Friendly staff lovely food. Relaxed atmosphere and not rushed. Catered for special "cheeky" requests
D.
Good quality food and nice service, just what I expect from a place like this.
J.
Floriditas is consistently excellent in both food and service. The last few times I've eaten there I've had a really enjoyable experience and the food has been superb. Lovely place and I highly recommend.
M.
Nice atmosphere and staff, but very overpriced for what it is. The tiramisu French toast had barely any flavour. Food eh, atmosphere good.
s.
Metro chic bistro with classic Francophile appeal... Decor and ambience are enticing and the smiling professional waitstaff, wrapped like belated Xmas prezzies in their oversized aprons are welcoming and proficient. The menu was post lunch/ pre dinner so limited to light appetisers, salads and such. I waited with anticipation... it wasn’t worth it sadly... my polenta chips were thick deep fried rectangles stacked like a game of Jenna... accompanied by aioli mayo.... I also ordered the chicken croquettes... three thumb sized pieces deep fried tasty, sitting on a saucer. No garnish no plate appeal ( hasn’t Masterchef Aust taught you anything!). I’ve seen meals served in kindergartens that were better presented. Still peckish I had a small lemon meringue pie and a bitter coffee. For nigh on $40 I would have stormed out uttering profanities under my breath arrogantly in French, had it not been for the charming ambience and 70’s soundtrack that had lulled me into a pubescent stupor and I smiled all the way home.
S.
There are not enough words in any langage to describe how amazing the food is here. Always my go to restaurant when in Wellington. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
k.
The food was over priced $35 dollars for steak and chips more if you wanted vegetables. It seemed under staffed and they seemed undertrained as our drinks and meals were taken to a few different tables before arriving at our table. The food we had was fine though. They missed out on our desert orders after we gave up after waiting over 15 minutes for a waitress to see us. We paid and left they seemed more worried about placing people at tables rather than looking after those already eating. All in all their are plenty of other places to eat at.
H.
Interesting breakfast menu - smoked fish hash especially recommended. Good service from a young team.
E.
Fabulous restaurant. Chic. Delicious food. Elegant yet cozy. Up-scale yet popular. Intelligent menu, if you know what I mean. Top of the notch wines, beers and above all a beautifully decorated place. I love that you can ask them to send the artistic back of the menu prints to your home anywhere in the world...waiting to see if it gets up to Mexico city
F.
Every time I'm in Welly for work, I stop by Floriditas for their Green Eggs and Ham. It's a great twist on a classic breakfast.
J.
The food looks and feels all homemade, unfortunately I forgot to confirm this. The food is very good.
The place was busy on the friday brunch-time we were there and it was a bit of a hassle initially to get a waiter to get us a table. The bathrooms were a bit unkept.
Overall a very good a spot to have a healthy and hearty breakfast for the day.
L.
This fish dish was somewhat disappointing. It basically was some pieces of smoked fish strewn between a pile of roasted potatoes with a poached egg on top. Apart from the egg yolk itself it was quite dry. The little dollops of mayonnaise didn't really help
C.
Good food. Reasonably priced. Service was a little slow, but the food came quickly. Good wine selection. Very fresh food with the in-season products and flavors. I would recommend for a leisurely afternoon or morning bite.
J.
Best fish pie in town! Pro tip: order a side of crispy potatoes with everything. Great service as always.
D.
The problem with “fine” dining is that their value is usually around presentation and atmosphere and I’m tired of being disappointed. I was really looking forward to some zest and complexity in the linguini and some serious flavour in their chorizo croquettes. They both fell flat. And the presentation and flavour of the croquettes was as good as an average sports bar. I could’ve done a similar job and I can’t cook.
S.
Absolutely love this place. Wonderful food, awesome atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit when in Wellington
J.
The youngman who served us was amazing truly fantastic food can't say enough you will not be disappointed!
S.
Great atmosphere, excellent service. The fish pie was incredible!
L.
Floriditas offers the perfect blend of atmosphere with great, unpretentious food. The setting is in a 1930's building with high ceilings, ceramic tiles, dark wood and a minimalist, chic style. The service was delightful and considerate. The food was excellent. Wonderfully fresh flavours, appropriately sized portions and all very tasty. Definitely worth a visit when in Wellington for a casual yet high quality lunch or dinner.
J.
Always outstanding food at Floriditas. Best cheese scones in the city if not the country, and washed down with their turmeric latte. Delicious...
A.
Had the most amazing brunch. The tea was wonderful and I can’t express in words how good the ‘ham off the bone’ eggs Bennie was.
T.
Amazing place for breakfast. I frequent here everytime I go to Wellington. Can get busy so make sure you book or you will be left bitterly disappointed.
Wonderful coffee, stupendous selection of delectable food and to top it off a great vibe.
L.
Had a Fantastic brunch here- absolutely try the hash (pictured) - perfectly cooked/well seasoned and the fresh dill and herbs really set the fish and potatoes off.
A.
Always our #1 spot when we are ready to celebrate something. We have been going for 7 years and we won't be stopping anytime soon.
M.
Came here for dinner a few weeks back and it was 5 star through the whole experience. The service was outstanding, super friendly and engaging with out being intrusive or overbearing. Food choice is extensive , well presented and was delicious ... wine menu is great as well with some unusual choices as well ... couldn’t recommend more highly.
K.
Really clean and we'll presented store. Staff are all lovely, and very professional from what I saw. While the brunch menu is somewhat expensive, I think the quality, flavour, and good portions are worth it. I especially recommend the brioche french toast, scrambled eggs on toast, and green eggs and ham.
The coffee is also very nice judging on my long black
K.
Great service from super friendly staff. Food was very good and the place has really nice feel. We went for dinner and especially enjoyed the cheese donut and kumara dumplings. Lovely!
N.
Delicious food and caring staff. Nice range of breakfast options💫
A.

Whenever we visit Wellington, we know what our first stop is: EGGS. At Floriditas. I have never tasted such INCREDIBLE poached eggs on toast. So light, buttery and delicious! The best start to a day in Wellington.Service is great, atmosphere bright and warm. Keep it up, Floriditas! Xoxo
E.
The yummiest food ever, amazing coffee, incredible building and atmosphere, friendly service!
T.
went in at 2.30pm not sure what to expect but the chicken sandwich was excellent. coffee excellent small selection of sweets. Had a nice breakfast here... Poached eggs for me and asparagus on toast for spouse. Coffee was excellent. Best carrot I have had other than Sid’s at Cassia Which was gobsmackingly delicious. Well done Wellington!
R.
We had an amazing dinner, could not fault a single dish. Made even better by the great service and wine. We'll certainly be back
G.
Great date night restaurant. Cool menu that they with mail anywhere in the world. Beautiful foods.
i.
My friend and I were super excited to finally find Pavlova, a national pride that you cannot find anywhere, but instead have to really search for it...
The restaurant is really nice, the service very good and their business cards and paper placemats (thank you for mailing them to Belgium and Croatia! :)) are real pieces of art!
s.
Wow. Loved the atmosphere and had food that was other than the usual but delicious. Food was a little slow to come out but it was the middle of the lunch rush.
G.
Our favourite breakfast place in wellington. Staff great, food fantastic. Also try a night meal, bookings maybe essential in weekends. Great ambiance.
S.
Saw the food coming and was a little disappointed, it all changed when I started eating. Had avacado on toast (recommended by the blonde girl working there) which was delicious. I guess I'm a little too used to oversized portions but the breakfast was fantastic, would recommend.
B.
Friendly service, a wee bit of a wait for the food but it was epic when it arrived, and was very busy at the time, so to be expected. I had the wild boar ragu, and it was spectacular. Very impressed.
V.
Very helpful staffer told me about Loretta's, since there were no tables available at Floriditas
J.
Good restaurant for breakfast and brunch. Serve good Earl Grey and breakfast. The staffs are very friendly and polite. The food is good and tasty.
Y.
I went just for dessert at night, but stuff were warmly welcomed. Pavlova was great.
E.
Friendly and efficient staff.
Good alcohol selection, very good food in a warm interesting atmosphere.
J.
Brilliant food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. What more can you ask for? Already looking forward to our next Wellington trip to go again!
P.
Dependable good food in a pleasant setting with courteous service.
N.
This was a pleasant dining experience that was slightly upmarket. Nice ambience. Good food and good service.
K.
Floriditas was very tasty as a breakfast location, the equivalent of a big breakfast is pictured below. I also really enjoyed the coffee.
J.
Amazing orange and date scone!!
s.
Great Service..Great food! Definitely recommending this place🥰
T.
Aue, the porridge on the breakfast menu is the best ever..warm, friendly service. Loved it 💗💕
b.
Loved it. Great food. Friendly staff. Order choc torte if available
J.
Just wanted an evening meal, but they only do a 2 course offering...?
W.
Always love the coffee and the counter goodies. Best gingerbread caramel loaf in Wellington and the scones are to die for, especially the cheese and rocket. Love that the scones are heated in an oven not a microwave and come out crisp on the outside but moist inside. Its always busy and the staff are always attentive. And the bonus is buying a few jars of their Seville bitter orange marmalade and damsom plum jam.
A.
We've got a menu for dinner at that time, it was seems like make it new everyday! But I could't find what I want, so I had just tea and pavlova that day. Everything was quite expensive and cake wasn't the best.
J.
Exellant menu and service, great for a night out to have something different and special.
J.
Floraditas has been a Wellington institution for a while now, but they were beginning to get a bit stale. Solid, but not inventive.
Now with a new chef, a completely new menu, they're amazing. Fresh, and most importantly tasty. And still fast and friendly service.
H.
You cannot beat this place for a breakfast in Wellington.
Warm authentic attentive service.
For vegetarian food, there are loads of options.
This is a must visit if going to Cuba Street for food.
D.
Came here for breakfast, super friendly staff and a really nice way to start the day.
The scrambled eggs are spectacular, and the Bircher muesli equally so. The chia seed and milk base it is served with is a lovely light and nutritious compliment to the muesli, rhubarb, and toasted slivered almonds.
They have an eye catching selection of their own freshly baked goods, and even make their own marshmallows (the waitress let me try one after I asked whether they were homemade, probably the most wholesome restaurant experience I've ever had ❤️).
H.
Staff and food were great, very accommodating.
J.
One of my favs had their special vegetarian menu so so yumo
R.
The location continues to been carefully curated to showcase the amazing building.
The menu is inspired, compelling and superbly executed. All dietary requirements covered.
Service is warm, casual yet knowledgeably confident.
A great direction for a Wellington institution
I.
Been to this place three times in my last visit to Wellington. Each time the food and service were very satisfying. I al appreciated the wine recommendation. Note that their menu changes almost on a daily basis.
R.
Visiting Wellington with a friend and I remembered how much I had enjoyed dining previously at Floriditas so we headed down Cuba Street for lunch then returned another day for breakfast. The Seville Orange Marmalade was delicious! Lovely atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend
B.
I was told that the pavlova is amazing.... So the photo had to wait, it was so good, definately coming back for more!! Thankyou to the staff, very courteous and attentive
C.
If you're paralyzed by choice for dinner just go here first and figure the rest out later. Lovely service and just the right balance of lively and intimate atmosphere. Menu covers its bases well without being overwhelming, and the dishes are interesting but unpretentious with a great wine selection to match. The cooking itself was excellent.
R.
Nice dinner out with friends good food good music and we can hear each other talk.
T.
Great place for weekend brunch! I absolutely love the smoked fish hash and usually order that but their other dishes are also very good and so are the drinks. I got a macaron when paying the bill and that was also a nice treat between my husband and I.
M.
Great service, fabulous food. Loved the Falafel salad. My husband loved his scrambled eggs with honey baked ham.
H.
Loved this restaurant, excellent service, friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices. Something new and interesting.
A.
Food, staff, efficiencies we’re outstanding. Really enjoyed the last breakfast and coffee. The place was busy but it was a very short wait for food and drinks. Would definitely return
N.
Nice brunch spot. We went here with friends, I got the avocado toast with poached eggs which was delicious. The hollandaise was maybe the best I've ever had. I thought maybe it was a tiny bit pricey though, but still very delicious. The staff was very welcoming and efficient.
A.
We don’t understand why this place was rated so high. As others have stated, the wait staff all seem unhappy. Service with a smile can be forced and fake but service with a scowl might be too honest.
I didn’t enjoy the appetizer I ordered. Maybe the larger meals are tastier. My husband enjoyed the croquettes but nothing earth shattering going on here.
M.
Always wanted to go here, never had the chance until my mum came down from Wellington and took her here and we weren't disappointed!
M.
Have been here a few times and the food and service are both always good. Tried a good amount of their menu and it's not disappointed, recommend the smoked fish hash personally.
B.
Two friends and I came here for breakfast on a very busy Sunday morning. The staff are so attentive and lovely, and the decor is so well done. We all had trouble deciding what to eat as it all looked so good. It's uncomplicated food done really bloody well. The coffee is divine. We couldn't help ourselves and ordered a choux bun to share after breakfast and it was delicious. Will definitely come back!
K.
The food was utterly delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. They were also very accommodating when it came to my 9 year old son ordering. The kids menu didn't take his fancy very much bit they tweaked the pasta dish to make it more appealing to him. Will definitely go back next time I am in Wellington.
R.
Amazing place for brunch. Lovely staff, tasty, well cooked food and good coffee. A must visit on Cuba St.
A.
Oh....yum. Had a tough time making a decision on what to eat. Everything on the menu was enticing. And then our meals arrived. Large portions and absolutely amazing. Best hollandaise ever, eggs perfectly poached. Accompaniments delicious. If we lived in Wellington, we would be regulars. As it is, we will definitely return. Thank you for the great meal and service!
S.
I had an amazing meal here with friends. Fabulous wine list. They have the most amazing artworks as menus, which if you write your name on, they will post it to you after you leave. Mine turned up in my Po Box not long after I returned home. Such a lovely memento of an evening out with good friends and good food
M.
Our first breakfast in Wellington and with the promise of legendary coffee to try, lead us to here, and we were not disappointed. A perfectly balanced cappuccino served in a tall glass, held its structure to the last sip. The breakfast menu options included a smoked mackerel with potatoes which made an excellent gluten free option and combined with a little rocket sauce - just delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere relaxed and humming with people making plans for the day.
G.
Very nice bar, friendly staff, good choice of beers.
Food was excellent.
S.
Great Ginger cake!! We poured a little
Of your long black onto it and it was sensational thank you
M.
It is not the cheapest place, but well worth the money. Usually fully booked: a good sign already. Meals were sophisticated with unusual combinations of vegetables and spices. Soup of the day was perhaps the most exciting thing you can turn a pumpkin soup into :).
I would definitely recommend booking ahead and enjoying the food.
G.
Delicious brunch! Clearly a popular place and well worth the small wait for a table. Clean and well presented with plenty of natural light through the large windows. Great staff, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend the bacon and egg brioche. (Add some potato hash and don’t forget your Rocket Fuel sauce, yum!)

We went here for dinner as one of the recommended restaurants of our B & B hosts. We didn't have reservation and although, place is quite packed that time we were able to have a seat. We ordered pasta ( as recommended by one of the waitstaff ) and steak for my hubby. Food was good but really nothing so spectacular. We felt the food were quite pricey for the servings, thus, we also ordered dessert afterwards because we were still quite hungry. Dessert was okay, but again, there was nothing special. All in all, it was a good dining experience but there might be other restaurants in the famous CUBA Street where you can also try. But waitstaff were quite professional and friendly so that's a saving grace!
If you're big eaters - this is not the restaurant for you!
C.
Set price meal options fantas, staff fantastic, way, way more than just a brunch option. Seriously good food and people
T.
The bill was quite hefty but the food and wine was absolutely amazing. One of the best meals that I've ever had. Just goes to show you get what you pay for in this world. Thank you for making a fun night into a fantastic night.
t.
WOW what a friendle well organised restaurant. The staff were so good i had to go out oc my wY to compliment them. Also there jams are arsum. So good i couldnt care how much they cost. My favoute eating out place in Wellington
L.
The broccoli & white bean burger was delicious - and huge, I could only eat half of it (had to save room for dessert!). The burger was fairly rich but the flavors combined wonderfully. The bun was great. We got pavlova for dessert and it's one of the best pavlovas I've ever had. The rhubarb curd paired with the sweet brown sugar pavlova was the perfect combination, topped with strawberries - how could you go wrong? I wish I had only ordered one for myself!
r.
Awesome, great wait staff and glorious food. We had the tapioca and the scrambled eggs. Both gorgeous!
T.
Absolutely amazing food! Best french toast I have ever had with complementing sides. Eggs on brioche with all the sides is delicious too.
L.
Egg-focused menu - they cook them very well!
a.
Fast service, Great coffee, yummy eggs and ham on the bone. Highly recommend
P.
The food was tasty and portioned well. Which would be enough for me most of the time. There do not have tomato sauce for the chips (what!). We stayed maybe an hour and a half and they stopped filling our water after about an hour, like they were passively encouraging us to move on. Our waitress was a bit abrupt as well, not very welcoming. I'd eat here again if it was chosen by friends, but I wouldn't pick it myself.
M.
The food here is top notch, from breakfast all the way through to dinner. The menu offers something for most everyone, though a few more vegetarian dishes might come in handy. The staff is upbeat and happy to help and answer questions and the tone of the restaurant is mellow without pretension. Of particular note is the high quality of the gluten free bread options. The bakery certainly knows what they are doing and provide a decisively high quality product.
J.
Delicious lunch and even more amazing desserts. The beef ragu was very tasty. We loved the lime meringue tart, ginger cake, and orange coconut cake. Very friendly and helpful staff.
M.
Great food and service, I had scrambled eggs on toast with tomato, bacon and sausages which was all amazing. My partners meal was good too, he had eggs Benny but his eggs were over cooked. If the eggs weren't overcooked I would give this place a 5/5.
D.
Great food, very good service. It would be perfect if they just left water on the table instead of coming round refilling small glasses. Also the staff are wonderful with my toddler.
B.
Great food, wine, service and feel. Balanced dishes with real complexity, but lightness. Loved it!
R.
Where to start, from beginning to the end of our evening everything was exceptional! Thanks to Jack,Amber and Victoria you guys are on top of your game, making a dinning experience a work of art. The food, wow the flavours you present easily compete with any dish’s I tasted in Europe ( I had the Hand made Tagliatelle) the mint, lemon and asparagus what a combination, compliments to your chief.
K.
G! Thank you so much for an amazing evening! You are incredibly passionate and enhanced our dinner experience 2 fold. The food was very good. The kitchen cooked our individual steaks to perfection. As we all had the beef it's hard to comment on other main courses. Thank you for a fun and wonderful evening! K from Surrey.
A.
Great food. The best is the choux pastry with custard and feijoa curd. Favourite daytime date venue whilst kids are at school
d.
Absolutely amazing place! Incredible food. Some of the best meals we have had all holiday. We had an absolutely lovely waitress, very kind and super helpful. The Apple crumble is to die for!! Wish I could give it more stars!
P.
Amazing breakfast, the menu makes it sound like many other places but the food amazing. I had a makrel, fried potatoes and poached egg dish that almost made me cry, it was so good! The table next to us had amazing looking banana bread. Only thing which doesn't match the quality of the food was the coffee, it wasn't bad but not great, probably some strange roast
M.
Always kind
Warm Reception from staff
Excellent table service and counter food
R.
Lovely place on Cuba St done up in art deco style. Coffee fab, and the eggs bene were great. Also had this amazing ginger bread with caramel sauce, which was so tasty. Highly recommend coming here.
A.
I really wasn't expecting much from a place that boasts about selling eggs, eggs and more eggs but Holy hell, this was easily the nicest breakfast I've had since being in NZ (4 months now).
I went for the big breakfast which although was a little expensive $24, was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY.
The sausages were the nicest I've had for a long time, the bacon was cooked perfectly and the eggs and bread were phenomenal.
They also have Rocket Sauce here, which is PERFECT for brunch!
10/10, would definitely come back again soon.
B.
Great service and food as always.
D.
From the appetizer to the entree and finally the desert--a most enjoyable meal. Service could have been more attentive, but we weren't in a rush. We stopped by a few Cuba Street restaurants before picking this one and wasn't disappointed. I noticed they have recipes featured in a couple of Cuba Street books and if they had the recipe for my meal, I'd buy the book!
N.
I think they forgot about my eggs & toast. & when I got it, it was literally just eggs & toast. But everyone else's looked really yummy. Think I was meant to order a side with it? It was a Saturday morning & it looked really busy but got a table fairly quickly. Nice surroundings open & airy.
M.
Wow!! I had the avocado, kale and broccoli salad..it was awesome, clever use of all of the broccoli, amazingly fresh and just a joy to eat...others had halloumi pumpkin salad and mushrooms on toast.. all so good and deliciousness at its best.!!
L.
So delicious. Fine dining with packets of flavour. Staff are very attentive and always checking up on you so that's lovely. Atmosphere is relaxing and calm too
B.
Great service. I had poached eggs and tomatoes on toast ($16). The tomatoes were really fresh and the bread is good ciabatta. Serving size is a little small if you're really hungry but perfect otherwise. Coffee is good too.
D.
They just know how to look after people in this great venue. Is it love? Very close to it we have to say and the coffee is great and the food beautiful!
A.
Excellent service, and good food.
N.
Went here with some friends for brunch. The service was great and the food was high quality. I got the avocado toast with poached eggs and hollandaise. It was fantastic. A friend got the salmon which he was very pleased with. Great spot.
D.
Simple elegant surrounds & relaxed atmosphere. Very helpful & professional staff. Great wine list (included my favorite Bollinger). My lamb main was the best prepared lamb I have experienced. All food we ordered was brilliant. I highly recommend Floriditas!
T.
chips are amazing..picture a huge bowl of McDonald's fries. my partner had the fluffy and loved it. great hot chocolate too. really nice place to enjoy a morning. great location!
E.
Only cafe open in Wellington CBD on a Sunday before 8am.. great little find. Friendly service, beautiful decor and exceptional food and coffee. Thankyou Floriditas for starting off our Sunday off in a great way 😊
P.
This place has some of the best coffee in Wellington, and is a firm favorite with our family. The food is always excellent, and the staff very friendly. It also has a very comfortable ambiance for anytime dining. If you're visiting Wellington, make sure you visit here.
S.
Friendly staff and lovely food. Popular in the area..
b.
We came for a birthday lunch, fabulous food, the best G and Ts ever, lovely staff and service🌻🌻🌻
S.
We love this place! We don't often get to Wellington but always try to have a dinner here. It has never failed to be good.
A.
Excellent service. Great latte and hot chocolate, good brunch on Sunday. I would have liked to have more options for dessert.
M.
Fabulous service and great food. I had steak medium with grilled asparagus and was sensational. I have been in kiwi for 6 nights and by far the best, oh and the Docs pale ale was good also.
S.
A must while in Wellington. Lovely food great service friendly staff. Busy but they do get thru the tables if you have to wait...its worth it. Meals good size fresh ingredients. Highly recommended.+++
S.
Excellent service and delicate menu. Sadly didn’t have time to try more dishes and dessert, but mains and starter was very good. Great looking interior too.
D.
Excellent food, served by friendly and attentive staff. Can highly recommend the Chocolate fruit cake and Pedro Ximenez Sherry as an alternative to the main desert menu. Anyone who likes Pinot Noir, may also want to consider the Ponds Paddock 2014. Very nice indeed.
P.
Great food and coffee in a modern decor.
D.
Lovely Vegan salad while in Wellington for work
A.
Probably the best breakfast we had on our wellington trip! They open 7 on the weekend, which is convinient for us as we have so many things to do on a saturday. The food is just right! Not cheap, nor pricy. You’ll love the ambience, and the music is legit the right mood. A great place to start your awesome day!
T.
If you fancy and exquisite orange scone, then get in early. I dream of the orange scone!! This place is so iconic it can be hard to find a table on a busy day, but go at 11 on a Tuesday and you can take your time enjoying the delicious food and great coffee.
J.
Everything in this establishment is elegant, inspired, and delicious. The ginger loaf with caramel sauce is bliss. The salads...will even male picky carnivores salivate in desire. Mixed drinks are rdfreshing in taste and style. I would travel fron Auckland to Wellington just for this restaurant and the museums.
T.
Consistently good after all this time. Service was friendly and efficient, eggs with house smoked salmon was lovely, especially the crispy capers. Good coffee. Recommended.
J.
A wonderful cafe, I can't wait to visit again. The hollandaise sauce is particularly good and also the raspberry jam. Perfect spot for breakfast in the bustling Cuba street, highly recommended!
S.
This is a great place to eat. The food is superb. They have a great wine list.
Friendly very helpful staff. 10 out 10 from me.
H.
Came in on a Monday afternoon for coffee on the rocks :) My friend had an amazing scone. The guy who Served us was excellent, friendly, attentive. Will be back to sample the food ;)
N.
Delicious food, comforting environment and extremely friendly staff!
I ate the 'lemon linguine' and it was wonderful, and very well priced! There is also a huge selection of wines and fine beverages if you are interested
V.
Good breakfast and coffee, reasonable prices
J.
One of our regulars for brunch and coffee. Always busy so pick your times. Always found the service awesome and food super good.
L.
The fish pie was delicious!! Tasty filling, crunchy topping and great salad. We have always had great food, coffee and service here. 100% recommended.
B.
Not a bad place, good atmosphere and decent food, though not quite the quality we were expecting for the price (the sausages in particular). Staff overall was friendly and service was good.
M.
Disappointingly expensive for average food. We both agreed if we'd have read the menu before going in we wouldn't have bothered. Neither of our meals mentioned fennel but it was overpowering in the side dishes.
J.
Consistently good service with an elegant atmosphere. The coffee is made to a good standard. The menu is fantastic, with a great selection of food options. Ideally located.
M.
The menu ticked all the boxes so it was a difficult decision to choose . The staff was truly amazing and as for the tastebuds they will never be the same again. Highly recommend with honours.
A.
It was just fantastic! The sirloin 300g steak was perfect. Also the lamb we ordered was great. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny!
S.
Lovely food but waiting staff overbearing and would not leave us alone. Removed my husbands plate as he ate his last mouthful. Came over 6 times to refill water and ask if everthing ok. Had to hang on to my glass of water for fear it gets removed.
J.
Always surprising good, well cooked steak and fish, friendly efficient staff, good & different wine list. Must come here more...
M.
One of my favourite Wellington places to eat! Amazing food that changes to fit the season - exciting ingredients, I'm a vegetarian and am always spoiled for choice! Sensational bake goods on their counter too!!!
J.
I enjoyed lunch here with two grandsons. Great food, fabulous ambience and the staff could not have been more helpful. Great place for lunch and early dinner. A favourite place.
M.
Went on a recommendation and never looked back. The smoked mackerel w/potatoes breakfast was ridiculously, fantastically delicious. Their cheese scones are also to die for.
L.
Some of the best food I have had in a while. Rah component was perfectly prepared and assembled in to a balanced and plentiful dish. Not to be overlooked!
R.
Floriditas was another place whose cheddar and rocket cheese scone was recommended by a few people. Immediately apparent from the unusual Rectangular shape a muffin tray has been used. This might provide a regular size and shape, but results in quite a soft scone exterior, which is quite a disappointment. Flavour wise this was quite floury and bland.
A good 60/100 on the Scones of Wellington list.
B.
Great atmosphere. Awesome service and outstanding food. Highly recommended.
R.
We’ve tried a few times to get in here and managed this time for brunch. Always very busy. Terrific service and excellent food. Especially liked the smoked mackerel potato hash and the coffee.
A.
Went for breakfast. Great eggs. Runny but not raw. Great ambience. Healthy choices. Would like to see some waffles, pancakes, or French toast on menu. :)
J.
Amazing flavour and presentation. Very accommodating staff squeezed 6 of us in during peak hours
D.
Perfect french bistro style meal before a french movie...delicious food and great service.
R.
The staff are so friendly. Delicious menu that managed to satisfy the vegan, the 3 year old, and the meat eater in the family. No small feat.
P.
Great brunch. Cool place. Very busy and a wait for a table but it was all managed very smoothly and with friendly staff.
P.
Excellent time catching up with an old mate. We ordered the same thing and were both very happy. Staff were friendly and engaged but not intrusive. Recommended!
C.
Called in for a business meeting yesterday afternoon and we were greeted with friendly smiles. Great coffee and the lovely staff ensured our water glasses were kept full. We weren't there for a meal but the friendliness will ensure that if we are in the area, we will certainly come call in for a meal.

Great service, great coffee and I love the breakfast menu here. I also like the ambience: great heritage building. Often quite busy, which tells you it’s good!
M.
Awesome friendly staff, Very yummy food. Well worth going.
A.
Very popular with locals, often busy but we'll run and great food and coffee. A real Wellington must see if you're visiting. And if you're a local, get in early!
A.
Staff were great at keeping our waters filled and made us feel very welcome. Coffee was well made and there were quality cakes on offer at the counter.
C.
Very good food with a nice beer selection. Took a little while to get our food though. We wanted to do dessert, but we had to catch the ferry and ran out of time.
J.
My favourite city to visit with Floridatas on my small list of favourite restaurants. Bonus is they do an amazing breakfast as well.
R.
Excellent coffee and savory scones. Great place to sit and catch up on email, messages, etc. Staff are very nice and helpful. Never feel rushed here
A.
Food was excellent service was great the barista with the yellow bob made a great coffee. The tall blonde fellow was an entertaining and charming waiter. Will always be back!
a.
Amber was wonderful recommending a wine for us, looking after our needs and the staff were excellent with their service. Thank you and we will recommend your restaurant to all we meet.
N.
Nice space, with friendly staff. A little pricey, $7 for two very small pieces of toast. Good coffee though.
J.
Almost didn’t try it as some reviews stated long wait for tables. Almost didn’t go in as large queue at entrance. But seated within 5 minutes. Wonderful food and service that certainly went the extra mile.
K.
One of the best cafes in Wellington. Come here every time we visit. Great decor and atmosphere. Wonderful, friendly, attentive and well trained staff. Delish breaki, sweets and the best coffee!
K.
Great cafe excellent staff if a little cheeky
Haha😁😁
H.
Fabulous cous cous and cauliflower salad!!!
J.
Good food in a pleasant location and building. Service is spot on. Though they dont balance the meeting your needs with staying out of your face very well. But the food, and so long as u dont mind that feeling of 'move along', its a great place to eat
T.
Good atmosphere. Food was delicious and treat.
B.
So delicious, great atmosphere and the staff are wonderful, we love going to Floriditas!
M.
Consistently delicious food, coffee and attentive service. A staple in the Welly food scene that has set and maintained a high standard. And the baked goodies are 👌🏽
T.
Our food was tasty. We were there for Sunday brunch and the place was packed, had to wait for a table. Felt special to be there and have a glass of bubbles with breakfast :-)
B.
Great food and service. Happily catered to our needs as parents with children and made us feel comfortable. Pricey but worth it for a treat
A.
Always a relaxed pleasure and attentive service. Try the Bleu d'Auvergne with Pedro Jimenez soaked raisins and crackers for dessert. Great winelist!
D.
Food was very good. However, small portions and a grumpy waiter did not contribute to the most pleasant experience.
D.
Great coffee, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Didn't try the food but everything looked good!
G.
Very good, very busy and very hot. Not much ventilation even though the doors were wide open. It was a very muggy day though. 😍
D.
Thr food and staff are always great
M.
Great breakfast at Floriditas this morning, menu good assortment of choices. Food delicious, coffee good & service excellent

S.
Absolutely worth a visit. The fish pie was amazing and is highly recommend. Combinesd with good coffee and prompt service, makes this a good place for brunch.
N.
The lamb shoulder was burnt on one side ie the down side. Appalling to present burnt food. Thought about sending it back but decided against that. Wish I had. Otherwise all good. Need to cross out wines on list that aren't available.
M.
The front of the house is really nice and the place is in a great location
R.
Amazing brunch, great options out of the ordinary. I had the mackerel, poached egg and potato! Loved every mouthful!
p.
Good food and wine but limited menu
J.
All of the meals we had were awesome. They serve Supreme coffee too. Wait staff were excellent.
R.
My friend and I were lucky enough to choose this restaurant on our recent visit to Wellington. We enjoyed the pan fried Tarakihi on risotto, the friendly staff and lovely pinot gris.Fantastic.Thank you
P.
Nice ambience, spacious ceilings in very grand style, and for morning tea/coffee - perfect place as morning sun comes through side windows. Also staff very nice and capable
D.
Yum. I love the mackerel hash here, good coffee, good service, stylish surroundings.
Don't bother with the free WiFi, it's patchy and slow. Focus on the food.
R.
Wow amazing! Great eggs, coffee and service. Looking forward to my next trip to wellington to go again
A.
The food and coffee were great but our server looked and acted like she would rather have been anywhere else than serving us
J.
This is fine dinning :) great food, great wine, great price. All of these three things go together. This is not Burger King :)
A.
Came for brunch on the weekend. Wasn't overly impressed with the options. Pricey and small portions. Good coffee though.
B.
Beautiful coffee, amazing breakfast food. Great service, very accommodating
E.
Gorgeous place to enjoy a delicious breakfast. My favorite place for eggs benedict. Would advice booking in advance for a table :)
Q.
Fresh seafood. Good service. You will need to wait for a while for a dish here. That's normal when it is elaborated in the moment. If you don't like to wait go to McDonald's
D.
Nice smoke fish 🐟
C.
Joined the crew at Floridatas for a Wellington on a Plate event. Well prepared and thought out and the food & drink was exceptional. Many thanks
R.
Impeccable service, excellent location, and the best eggs you will ever eat. Oh, and if they have any Portuguese custard tarts, you must try.
M.
One of my favorite brunch spots in Welly! Always fab! X
N.
Located on Wellington's vibrant Cuba street, Floritidas takes a departure from the hip, funky style the street is known for in favor of a more dark, industrial feel. Not to say that this is a bad thing, the interior is great albeit feeling a tad incomplete. Where I felt Floritidas was let down was the food. It was mediocre at best. Our group was there for lunch and felt that the food was either bland or excessively salty.
Perhaps the breakfast, which I figured this establishment is known for, would be slightly more encouraging however as it currently stands I'd give Floritidas a pass.
S.
Great variety of brunch dishes and they eggs were poached to perfection. The hollandaise was somewhat plain and bacon chewy.
Z.
Just went for dessert, port and coffee. Couldn't fault it. Everything ordered was delicious. Friendly staff.
D.
Faultless all round. Mum, dad and the two teenagers confirmed best brunch they have ever had.
R.

G.
Very good food. Good service. A little pricey but worth it.
J.
Nice decor. Always an interesting menu and priced as such but dishes often feel a bit unbalanced in their flavours. Maybe that's the price you pay for experimentation, though.
J.
Amazing brunch and coffee in this place!
R.

J.
Maybe the very best breakfast and coffee ever. No, really. Real, unfettered ingredients make really good food. And good friendly service makes it even better. Go figger.
M.
A rather fancy establishment with rather fancy prices. Pastas are good value. Mains from 19 to 33. Good but not great in terms of taste.
N.
Nice tasty food. Service a little slow or maybe just laid back. Cool music.
J.
Beautiful food. Busy Sunday mornings make sure you have booked

Good service, great food. Coffee? Not so much.

The food is ok, but the atmosphere is clinical and sterile. It's difficult to talk to people when crowded. Excellent coffee.

Weird "green" theme on the menu, which doesn't match the decor. But the food is very good.
W.
Nice environment, attentive staff, good coffees, very good scones.
