J.Juniper is always consistent and we have had great 21st birthday celebrations here for both my children. Ivy and her team always provide great food and service, cocktails are great and the ambience is perfect!

R.Warning. The flatbread was divine but I ate a whole plate before my Chicken Tagliatelle came which was even diviner’. The small plates are enough but coming back for a big plate of something one day!

J.I've been back to the Juniper a number of times over the years and it remains a great place for a quiet drink and a meal. They pride themselves as a gin bar but I can't comment on that as I don't personally like gin.
The menu is limited but there should be something for everyone and they cater well for Gluten-free eaters.

J.Reasonable food, although my dessert came with a hair in the ice-cream. Understaffed with only 2 people on site - I had to go to the bar to get another drink, and things took a while to arrive.
R.We stopped in on a Friday night for the 2 for $35 burger deal and $10 cocktails and we were not disappointed. The burgers were very tasty and the cocktail selection was very good. Great value for money. The entrance is off Johnston St however, not Featherston St as Google says so we almost didn't make it. Sadly though my last impression will be the toilets, while didn't smell they clearly needed a clean and some love and attention.

J.You don’t have to be a gin fan to love Juniper. It’s hip and cosy with a great buzz and good cocktails. Delight in the extensive gin menu or have a vino. There’s a delicious menu too if you’re keen to stay for dinner.
A.The staff were friendly and professional. The food is fantastic. I had the beef cheek and my husband had the Moroccan Lamb salad and they were so good we wanted to lick our plates clean so we didn't miss a single tasty morsel. My beef was so tender that I didn't need a knife to cut it as it just pulled apart. We will be going back here the next time we are in Wellington.
S.Good atmosphere and great wine. It was a very tight space though, I had to keep getting up. The waitstaff were friendly but kept checking on us every few minutes to see if we were finished. Felt like they wanted the table free for the next customers. Overall a lovely place.
L.10/10 service was perfect. Steak was perfect, chips were perfect. Mojito was on point and the staff picked gin and tonic was spot on. Overall a phenomenal experience. Keep up the great work!
A.Food was pretty pricey, although my party all agreed it warranted the price as it was so tasty! Good drinks selection although again quite expensive.
Nice cozy venue although the club music and sports on the TV didn't really seem suitable with the vibe they were aiming for. Place ended up being quite noisy because everyone was having to talk over the music!

G.Been coming here for over a decade and the food is STILL phenomenal countless updates and reinventions later. Lovely staff and the every present and ageless Ivy is always getting her hands dirty and making sure everyone is happy. That can't be a coincidence, leading by example makes this a superb place to eat, drink and chill, with great staff, great management, great ambience and literally stunning food and wine. Phenomenal :)
B.I went here for a farewell party - we ordered all different cocktails and bar snacks - all so yummy (chicken skewers, fried potato things, naan) with good service. Came for a lunch once and had the chicken burger - delicious. Interior is cool - clean and crisp with a bit of flair. My friends go for happy hour or 1/2 drink events and always talk about the amazing cocktails.
G.Gluten free options were sublime. My husband had the beef cheeks, where the weight of gravity was sufficient to slice the tender and succulent meat. The portion sizes weren't large, but were ample. Desserts were simple and tasty. The range of vokas and gins was extensive, with some exotic cocktail options. Our young waiter was attentive and helpful, and contributed to a lovely dining experience.
C.Don't post often but thought I'd better for this one. You know, it's hard to feel satisfied when you order a gourmet burger via UberEats. Even when it's perfectly fine, you usually feel the $ isn't justified (due to mark-up, temperature upon delivery, etc). Well, the Kikorangi burger (and fries) I just hit from this joint was ridiculously good. Umami af, generous servings (I couldn't remotely finish and I was starving), and the gorgeous dessert I stupidly ordered will have to wait 'til tomorrow. Absolutely recommended.

Walked in around 5:30pm on Friday.
1. Service: Great. Seated promptly and waiters were attentive. Did not have to wait very long for our burgers and drinks considering how busy it was.
2. Food: We ordered the two for $35 "gourmet burgers" with fries. Juicy patties. Dry, cheap fluffy buns. Comparable to something you might make for a crowd at a home BBQ. Would never pay the fill price for these burgers. Fries were crispy and tasty.
3. Drinks: To access the burger deal, you must buy two drinks. Fridays offer $10 cocktails. Considering this is a gin bar, I don't think these cocktails are their selling point. Good value, but basic. The quality gin and tonics are off limits in this deal.
4. Atmosphere: Pleasant. Nice separation of bar and dining areas, not too noisy.
I would like to return to Juniper just to drink, as their range of gin is impressive, but I won't be ordering food.

A.Classy establishment with warm atmosphere and generally good food. A bit on the pricey side, expect to pay around $20+ for a cocktail. Although it's not a place you'd really go for a beer, it is quite limited in choice and even more limited on draught choice with only two taps from recollection.
N.Lovely place, very intimate and great selection of gin. Took my friend who hadn't been there before and she said "omg I can't believe I have missed this place for so long".
M.Great food, great service. Nice vibe, even for a Monday night, there's nothing worse than eating in a dead restaurant but there was always at least a few tables full. I loved the fish, it was cooked to perfection, as was the risotto. The blonde waitress was super friendly to boot
G.Juniper is a great little bar (I haven't tried the restaurant upstairs). It's been around for years but doesn't feel dated at all. The decor is cosy and friendly. The cocktails are original, interesting, and beautifully presented. The bar staff even went the extra mile and swapped a few ingredients in one cocktail so we could try something we'd just invented :D
My only complaint is that they've shut down for the holiday period and haven't left anything to indicate when they'll be open again.
I.We booked for 10 people, staff are all accommodating and nice. Fast service and food is delicious :)
C.So good, cocktails were spot on and the burger deal was great. The staff were all super lovely, didn't seem to get annoyed at all with our huge group even though we were taking ages with our orders and being really loud, lol. Thanks guys.

An upscale restaurant well located over Johnston St, conveniently accessible from Lambton Quay and can be easily spotted on the roadside from a moving vehicle in normal traffic. Easily approachable.
Well managed, organised and nicely maintained.
Awesome ambiance and cozy atmosphere.
Spacious and comfortable seating around the restaurant which is divided into different sections.
Pleasant, cheerful and helpful staff. Well timed and friendly service.
Great variety of food and drinks with many options for vegans and vegetarians.
Delicious food and good presentation. Loved Garlic Baguette and Falafel Buddha Bowl with Haloumi Cheese. Hot chocolate was amazing.

Card as well as cash payments are accepted.
Good for groups, celebrations, family, kids and catch-ups.
Normally busy during evening.
Outdoor seating is not available. Could not notice wheelchair accessible seating or high chair in plain view at this location.

L.Service is super fast even when busy on a Friday after work drinks. Great if you love cocktails due to their great variety, as well as decent choices of wine.
S.A busy place at lunch time, it took them almost 45 mins to serve meals for 8 of us but I think that's quite alright because we had some nice rotis and garlic bread starters and the meals were absolutely delicious.
