Got myself a bowl of curry laksa and fried wonton to be shared with my bf. They taste awesome! The thick curry was flavourful and decent level of spiciness (could have been a little bit spicier for me ^_^ ) . Would definitely come back again and try other dishes as well.

Great little Malaysian restaurant just off Cuba street. It's very reasonable priced. You can get a great Roti Chennai with lots of Roti for 9$!!! Chicken Nasi Lemak or steamed chicken rice are also fantastic. I eat here once a week at least. Service is always super fast and friendly. The place is just one cool painted room, nothing fancy. They do takeaway too.

A tremendous recommendation from the desk clerk at Able Tasman hotel, sent me to KK Malaysian Restaurant near corner of Cuba and Ghuznee St, in Wellington. Very good Seafood Laksa, with prawns and mussels and nice and spicy, plus a side of Wontons. A value meal at $14 for the Laksa, and $8 for Wontons.

Wellington is spoilt for good Malaysian restaurants and KK is one of the best. Was busy with customers when we visited. A little bit nicer than cheap and cheerful, but only just. Can't fault the quality of food and speed of service. Menu doesn't quite have the range I would have liked and unfortunately my favourite Murtabak was absent. Great little Malaysian restaurant just off Cuba street. It's very reasonable priced. You can get a great Roti Chennai with lots of Roti for 9$!!! From the moment you enter the doors you are greeted with brisk Kiwi-Malay hospitality. The no-frills/no-alcohol/cheap-table-and-chairs rusticity of the place only enhances the charm of the hot, classically flavoured meals they efficiently serve. If you're not a vegetarian or religiously barred from doing so, you simply must try the beef rendang. Ten thumbs up.

Never had a bad experience here, always quick and friendly service, food is consistently good/amazing every time and really reasonably priced at about $13 per main. My partner is vegetarian and all the options here are really good and yummy, particularly the laksa which is definitely the best I've ever had. Good vegan and gluten free options also. Cheap, dependable, and fast. The Kung Pao chicken is out of this world, and the standard Malaysian and Nonya dishes are reliable. KK is a major part of Wellington's long standing Southest Asian culinary world, and always a great lunch.

Hands down the most authentic and delicious Malaysian hawker food in Wellington. Cheap, tasty and always reliable, with a good range including a decent number of vegetarian options. Small and busy. No bookings but they have a system for you to pop in and then come back if no tables free. Sounds odd but it works!

This is quite probably the best restaurant in Wellington as far as I'm concerned. The meals are always very high quality, the service is quick and of very high standards, booking a table is quick and easy, the price of the food is amazing and flavour is 10/10. If you haven't been here then you're seriously missing out, I absolutely recommend it. If you do go please read the large sign on the door that says close the door however, the number of people that completely miss it and leave the door open and a cold wind hitting the other diners is absurd.

You are *SO* good to people, i came in and made the mistake of ordering a meat dish thinking it was vegetarian and not only did you say that's okay we are happy to make you the vegetarian version for free and you can come and pay us back when you can, but when i came back one week later (you were so kind and generous you didn't mind me coming back one week later and you trusted that) when i came back you charged me half the price and said it was your mistake. The food good. The satay kebabs were nice but the chicken was a bit hard. Veg springrolls were actually good, normally fried stuff is not good at small restaurants. The roti canai with chicken curry was alright too. I have had better Malaysian food, so this place is really just an okay place. There are far better Malaysian restaurants in Welly, where you will get amazing food for the value of money and you will be bound to visit them again. The food here wasn't bad but if you ask me to visit again, I doubt I will.

The level of fragrance, the price of the meal, and the satisfaction level is simply beyond amazing. The chicken is soft and juicy, blending with the rendang sauce into perfection. The portion was generous. The culinary skills of the chef would easily surpass many chefs even in Malaysia. I would recommend this restaurant even for Malaysian abroad.

Staff and kitchen super efficient & friendly - for some restaurants everything clicks into place and this is one of them. Casual dining, no alcohol. A favourite of mine - always busy at peak times due to its high popularity.

KK is a small, Malaysian restaurant in Ghuznee St, just around the corner from central Cuba Mall. It has warm, busy vibes and is well patronised. It would pay to book a table or arrive earlier as tables run out constantly, especially at peak times. The seafood laksa* was good, with generous toppings which included chubby, succulent prawns. So were the prawn and hainan-chicken* dishes. The nasi lemak however was mediocre. If you're a newbie here and looking for cues, try observing the other tables to get a hint of KK's best sellers*. You'll spot these easily as the menu is not extensive but just right. The curry seems to be one of them... The service was faultless upon our first visit, which left a positive, first impression.

I had beef rendang. It was okay. But I am a native southeast asian so my expectation is high. Portion was generous. But I don't like that they served it with grated carrot and red cabbage. It just doesn't feel right.

Friendly and helpful staff with uber fast food preparation and delivery to the table. I think our meals were served just 5 minutes after ordering. KK Malaysian has been in this location for years and while the food was OK, I'm not sure that it is as good as it used to be. Their satay used to be served with the best sauce in Wellington but I think there are better options nearby now. Char keow teow had good spice but seemed to be lacking the wok character texture and taste

This was my first time eating Malaysian food, so I am by no means an expert. But this place did serve very tasty dishes. I had the nasi lemak with beef randang, peanuts, and cucumber slices. It was spicy but with a bit of sweetness hidden beneath that isn't often found in Asian cuisine. The dish, plus fried wontons as an appetizer, cost under $20 NSD. The place is listed as one the 10 best cheap eats in New Zealand, and based off my visit it lives up to it.

We ordered the Kung Pao chicken and Nasi Lemak. Impressed by quickly the food was served, and how large the portions were given that it was $14 per plate. The Kung Pao chicken was pretty good. As for the Nasi Lemak, it was delicious but quite average compared to what you get in Malaysia. Free table water was also served, and the waiter even came by to top it up. I like the place and would come back if I were in Wellington longer.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who liked the curry laksa so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the curry laksa noodles, chow kueh teow and the fried tofu as the starter. The char kueh teow had good flavour and was one of the good ones so far we've tried in Wellington. Curry laksa was also good, fairly spicy but disappointed that they used surimi (fake crab meat). Probably why it's such a cheap meal. Fried tofu with bean sprouts was delicious but could do with a little more tofu for the price. We were pleasantly surprised by how fast we got our dishes, the first one came in less than 10 minutes and we got everything in about 15. Overall, we had a pleasant dinner for $27 and enjoyed it more than some of posh restaurants out there.
