P.Interesting Mexican food, lots of tacos, and quite spicy meats selection. Very busy place.
Unfortunately no water bowls to wash our sticky fingers, and asking us all leave by 7pm was a bit of a displeasure.
H.Staff are very friendly, restaurant decorated in quirky Mexican style and food very tasty. We had the flaming cheese starter to share amongst 4 of us then a different variety of quesadillas. They were all very yummy, even the side salads with the meals were delicious. I'd definitely go back there. Good variety of cocktails too.

R.I go here more or less once a week now I enjoy it so much. The staff have great chat, the chicken tacos and caviche (gotta like raw fish) are amazing. Can enjoy a beer or a cocktail, depending on your mood. Quickly becoming my favorite bar/restaurants in Wellington.
H.Already one of my favourite places for the frozen margarita's alone, my husband and I came on Friday night to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary and we were served by Ajaye and I felt the need to come on and write a review to express the awesome customer service she provided us with. She was attentive, friendly and just all around a pleasure to deal with. Thank you so much for topping off a lovely evening!
P.New favorite Mexican. The staff are wonderful, each of them was friendly and attentive and really make the place. The food was wonderful, the best Guacamole and Chips I've had in NZ, lovely Tacos with great spices and variety of ingredients. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.
L.Oh man! What a delightful, surprise find! We had the Plato Gordo of the day with their flaming cheese, sticky chicken, and guacamole. It was so tasty! The sticky chicken was incredibly spicy, but really tender and flavourful. They do a fun twist on Mexican street corn (elite) by rolling it in crushed pistachios. I was missing the cremá that usually goes with it. I loved the smoky flavor the margherita I ordered. The atmosphere is moody, but festive. The wait staff were friendly and checked on us regularly.
A.Fantastic gluten free options. The El Plato Gordo (flaming cheese) and sharing played were awesome fun (the sticky chicken has done decent spice!). The frozen margarita is great and the atmosphere is fun. We'll be back.

T.On a Monday night generally speaking you'd expect it to be quiet, so there was only 1 waitress on duty, so she was having to rush around constantly, but she still made sure to make time for us to chat and be friendly. It should also be noted the food was delicious, so if you are going out with people and they are the type to share food, then it's a great place to go (though sharing isn't strictly required, but does work better with their menu)

Walked in off the street, so was seated at the bar until a table became available. The bartender was a laugh and made our group of three feel welcome. We ordered a little bit of everything, but the fried chicken was my favourite. Followed by the churros, yum! Will be back again, thanks for the great experience 😊

The el plato gordon was delicious and a good mixture of different foods, cocktails were great and the Churros were highly recommended by our server and they were amazing!
S.If you're after delicious food, devine cocktails and an electric atmosphere this is the place to go!! Los Banditos is a must if you are ever in Wellington. Best I also mention that the staff are awesome!

T.Have been looking for a good Mexican styled food place in Wellington for a while, and then came across Los Banditos. What a great place with wonderful staff and fine food. It's in the party end of town, very central and if you go there on a Friday night like us, could be the start of a great night. There was plenty of options for Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free. My partner had a special ceviche which was delicate and fresh while I tucked into the Sticky Fried Chicken. We then shared a Jack-fruit Taco and Roasted Kumera and Sweet Corn Quesadilla. Service was fast with a good drinks selection all at a moderate price. The background music was contemporary with a hint of "pump" ready to set you going for the rest of the night.

J.My girlfriend and I had a great experience at Los Banditos this afternoon. The food was excellent, we had enchiladas, tacos and corn chips. The drinks also tasted amazing, we had the frozen margaritas. Big shout out to Adrian, who looked after us really well and was an excellent server and bartender. We highly recommend this spot!
M.Table quality is fluctuating. Stone tables are great but if you're unlucky like us, they'll combine 3 wonky 10 dollar tables together. Our table ordered tacos which were very average unfortunately. For 18 dollars the portion was far from generous and the "house made" tortias were anything but. They were cold, lifeless and looked like the ones you get from countdown. The fish tacos were the biggest offender. Hand on heart, the flavour combination was absolutely attrocius. The corn here is worth its weight in gold. The flavours were out of this world and almost saved a mildly disappointing culinary experience.
R.Still haven't found a great Mexican restaurant in NZ. Los Banditos was good but not great. The corn chips were too thick and the ceviche drab. I will say that the sticky chicken was tasty with a kick.

N.Great wee restaurant you have here . Everyone in our group loved the food , tons of detail in the food we appreciated like the different types of tortillas used in the tacos and corn chips . The flavours were different and exciting and really delicious .

The food was good but nothing inspiring or enough to come back specifically to eat unless I wanted to try different menu items incase that makes a difference. The food was fresh and presentation was fab. Portions to be about the size we were expecting they'd be. I didn't see great value for money in the food but I would keep paying for those killer cocktails. We only had one each because I was driving but they were well made and didn't skimp on the alcohol like some places tend to do (and try to hide)
Great place, would def return for an event or gathering (or to see if the food is even better next time around) because of the vibe, service and awesome staff but probably not for a meal where expecting a 'taste sensation' type feeling.

S.Plainly a popular place, it seemed that a lot of those there with us were repeat visitors. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which was in turn relatively extensive but not exhaustive. My wife and I ordered a sharing plate and two tacos which in spite of my misgivings, was just the right amount of food. And it was very tasty, fresh and well balanced food. Meal for five adults, with drinks, for under 180 dollars in the Cbd is pretty good value so I'm not sure what some other reviewers are on about. And I'm stingy as, just ask my wife.

Love the seating setup. Good vibes when you walk in, staff are very friendly and accommodating, food is delicious and full of flavour. You can see into the kitchen and watch the chefs work. Presentation is on and they have a twist on some of the classics.
Loved the churros, but wish they had an alternative option to the boujee white chocolate and freeze dried fruit, flavour. Milk Chocolate is a must with churros.
Their sangrias are a must try. We tried all of the flavours and the white sangria was my favorite. Fresh, summery! On! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I.Sharing plate style food. Excellent service and delicious food. Can recommend the fish tacos. The flaming cheese is spectacular and also tasty. Layout is nice for casual catch up with mates. Not super private for low key dates etc. Really good drinks also. Will be back

Food would probably net this place 5 stars, but it was the bartender on that night that really made us love it. Louie is one of the most funny, knowledgeable bartenders I've met and was very helpful and entertaining. Will definitely come back!

E.Real homemade tortillas! That's enough of a reason to go. Had their flaming cheese, sticky chicken, a bunch of tacos, and a margarita. So much better than the other local kiwi-mexican places like Mexico. If you want real mexican feel, nothing beats viva la mexico. but if you want a spacious place with nice cocktails AND food, then head here. Service is also super lovely!

That way you get to try everything. Number one place in Wellington for me right now. It's like fusion Mexican. Do yourself a favor and go try it. R.What a treat! I had the chicken tacos and at first I didn't think 2 would fill me up, but they did! They were jammed packed with ingredients and flavour!! I also had the churros which almost made me cry with joy, and the freeze dried raspberries were little heaven explosions. I totally recommend sitting at the bar, like actually do it. The bar staff are super friendly and the bar manager with his horchata and banter was the cherry on top of a great night. My bf and I will definitely be going back!
