Delicious dinner, beautiful interior with a romantic feeling. Perfect for date night or dinner with friends. Service was great, supised how large the meals were, we couldn't fit dessert. Delicious cocktails. You can order some wines by the half glass which is perfect if your driving. Not alot on offer if you don't eat meat but wasn't an issue for us. Will definitely be back.

Apologies for the lack of a detailed photo. Came here with colleagues for their express lunch. Not overly hungry, I opted for half a doz oysters and sparking water. Serving San Pellegrino is always a good idea, and the oysters (although small) hit the spot. My colleagues went for the 2 course express lunch which they seemed to find fine. One of them loved their choc and raspberry dessert. Service was polite.

Really enjoyed the express lunch and Wellington on a Plate cocktail. We also went on Valentine's Day, completely unplanned and got a window seat near the bar. They had pink roses on the tables and a special menu! We loved it.

A group of 13 of us went to Pravda for Xmas lunch. Service was very good, my lamb main was delicious and the chocolate fondant sublime. We worked our way through some very classy reds and it was good to see a lot of thought put into the wine list. Mains took a long time but they were packed out so fair enough. I would recommend Pravda as a very good quality restaurant for food and wine lovers.

Elegant and opulent cafe/restaurant/bar. We only popped in for a coffee but thoroughly enjoyed the coffee (they use local beans from Mount Victoria) and the atmosphere while in there. The staff who served us was lovely and the wait times were minimal. We will be back to try the restaurant.

Staff attentive and helpful, they know the Menu well and are willing to adjust some Menu items to your taste. Also knowledgeable about the Wine. Didn't have to wait long for our food- and the Cheese Board had a good variety of quality Cheese. Our booth towards the back of the Restaurant enabled us to talk while enjoying the ambience. I would highly recommend Pravda as an excellent venue for service, food quality, ambience and value. I will definitely return again and again. Thank you Pravda Café for a wonderful experience

Great cafe, bar and restaurant all in one. There's a cute joke about Russian newspapers that goes 'there's no truth in Pravda and no news in Izvestia (Pravda means truth and Izvestia means news...)... but here at Pravda there are good newspapers, cocktails, food, coffee and they're all enjoyable. It's not Russian food - but let's be honest, that's a blessing! Great for all meals, a quick break or a long night of cocktails and tale telling. The gorgeous surroundings make you feel like a spy in an old European city with bold Russian wall hangings, high ceilings, big windows and sparkling chandeliers. I'll be the woman in the red coat! Love a good steak house and this is one of them. Great atmosphere and great food. Perfect temperature on the steaks and tender as. The greens and onion rings were great too. Butter sauce could have used a bit of salt I think but the bourbon or brandy sauce was much better. Shout out to the waiter working his first shift!

We needed to get an early lunch and Pravda is a pleasant restaurant with a high ceiling and spacious layout. The use of wood in the decor contributed to a pleasant ambience. This place boasts the most delicious food I've had in a long time. The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. I would recommend the cauliflower soup with truffle mascarpone, I had to cancel my main as I didn't want to waste it as it was so good.

Pravda Cafe and Grill is a very classy restaurant in the heart of Wellington's CBD. The food was great and the waiting times were really good considering the place was full to capacity. The service was friendly and professional. The prices were quite high, but in accordance with the quality of the food that was delivered. The interior decor was elegant, complete with chandeliers and ornate mirrors. An all round enjoyable experience. I definitely would go again.

We went to Pravda especially so I could try their Japanese A5 Wagyu Steak... Disappointed. When brought out, just the steak on the plate, there was no dressing, the presentation was extremely lacking and poor, it looked like a dry overcooked thin schnitzel, a disappointing start. It was the larges cut they had, about 160 grams, at a cost of $150, a sirloin cut I was told. Cutting into it, it was rare in the middle, but being quite thin, was medium on the sides. Taste wise, it was very tender which was good, but the flavor was overpowered by the char grill and the seasoning... Tasted more like it has been cooked by an amateur on a home BBQ. Was it worth the money? No. It was worth trying, don't regret it, but I would not recommend ordering that meal at that price, when other restaurants can offer a better sized and flavored steak for a quarter of the price.

This is the place to come for great steaks. Melt in your mouth stuff. Wagyu steak is the way to go, make sure you get them to show you the steak board, so you have a choice to see the meat before you eat it. Service was efficient and friendly but not too intrusive. Good for groups but reservations recommended.

Lunch and dîner menu are different... There is a special menu on Saturday lunch. I was very disappointed by the burger... Burn meat and very dry burn bread of the burger... For a restaurant who always says that they have the best meat... It's just a joke. BUT I do recommend the Pasta with cream pork and mushrooms (it's called carbonara but it's not Italian carbonara taste different but very good)

If you are in Wellington end you would like to have a good breakfast (alone or in good company :) you can choose "Pravda" ... The food is always tasty, the coffee is correct, the staff is nice and welcoming, the atmosphere funny and relaxing. By the way... you can choose Pravda also for lunch (5/5) or dinner (4/5 - there are also other places to go :). ps: for lunch or dinner, think to make a reservation :)

This is a typical restaurant and Cafe in the higher end range of the spectrum. If you expect some Russian dishes you will be disappointed as I was. Was there for breakfast and had the minced on toast as it sounded more Russian than any other. It was a great dish tasting good.

AA: Absolutely Amazing. This place is a must visit for meat lovers. They have the most authentic Wagyu steak as well as other Masterchef-like dishes and dessserts. Closed on Sunday and booking is highly recommended for Saturday lunch or dinner. Apparently they also have the best cheese scone in the world which I haven’t tried yet. Professional and friendly service. Highly recommended. Would definitely visit again.

Great food and drinks!! We stopped at this place after our flight into Wellington and we were not disappointed. I had the rose(?) martini and it was not only delicious but beautifully presented. I also ate the pork belly and it was cooked excellently and was very delicious and flavorful! Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. Service was attentive and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and the decor is enjoyable. Would recommend!

Work dinner here was very good. I had salmon for a main & passion fruit cheesecake (deconstructed) for dessert, both were delicious. Service was perfect, staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for these staff members. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The fillet steak here is the best steak I've ever had. The truffle fries and mash are unbelievable too. I treat myself to a pravda every now and again and I am never disappointed. I'm not the type of person to leave reviews however, Pravda is well deserving of this one.

Don't let the name give you the allusion of a simple cafe, this is way more than a coffee shop. They have a very nice wine list and their menu has a nice variety without being over the top. The plates are well portioned and tend to have an artistic flare. You walk in to the bar area and the restaurant is up a short set of stairs and goes pretty far back so they can handle a good size group. Be sure to make reservations as they can get quite busy.

This is one of the few places where I am never disappointed with the quality of food. I frequent a large number of places for breakfast and Pravda is still the best in Wellington. Everything is always hot, well cooked and tasty. Dinner and Lunch have been no exception. Even when packed out they seem to be able to deliver faster than most others around whilst still maintaining a high level of quality. I strongly recommend Pravda if you are looking for quality food in Wellington.

Good experience. Had a friend from overseas to come visit and we decided to give Pravda a go for dinner (after being there for Lunch/Coffee on a few occasions). We order 2 Rump Steaks with Cafe de Paris butter and a side of fries. Steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and served with a Global Miniature Chefs Knife ! Our tastebuds keep us coming back to Pravda, we dine out a lot in Wellington and Pravda has become our go to escape and exceptional dining experience. The food is mouth wateringly beautiful. Pravda is more than great dining and wining, great selection of beverages. The character and atmosphere transport us out of the doldrums of our day to another place where we can relax, unwind, talk and enjoy ourselves I want to thank the staff as they are consistently friendly and appropriately attentive. When you think things can't get better, our most recent experience at Pravda was over and above from the staff and owners as they accommodated some unexpected changes that would normally have left us not being able to enjoy the great meal we were looking forward too. But Pravda came to the rescue they cooked and, packaged up our meals for us and we were able to have that meal we looked forward to in the hospital. Wow and thank you all so much ... we are in awe of you all and look forward to seeing you all again shortly. Thank you thank you thank you ...

Had sirloin steak with roasted kumara with pecans. Nice ambience, solid steak, but the pecans in roasted/meshed kumara were rancid, sadly. It was a big let down. However, the female server (petite curly hair female) was absolutely great and her service and congeniality more than made up for the little disappointment. Would be keen on going back to try other more popular sides but hope they use fresh pecans from now on.

Amazing food from a Nourish Group favourite, Pravda is always a treat whether for a business lunch or a proper dinner. In 2017, Pravda is running a few pop up concepts such as hosting Jervois Steakhouse from Auckland for March. Fine food made innovatively to make the diner feel just a bit special.
