The first night I went here they were out of a lot of food because they had been busy so I came back the next day. The food was pretty good, though I definitely would suggest that you need at least 3 people to finish off the Monster Nachos. They are pretty massive (but good). Also had the Chicken Wings (really good and not too spicy at all) and a Taco (it was Tuesday after all). A good experience overall and some nice outdoor dining.

Great lunch & afternoon visit today with work colleagues enjoying the handy location on Wellington’s waterfront. The staff were friendly & easy to get their attention, the food was what you’d expect for Mexican food but with a fun twist. A great place to take advantage of the end of summer vibes from lunchtime onwards.

Props to the monster nachos. Large and loaded with great food. Fun atmosphere with some 90’s and early 00’s music. The food took a little while to come out but an otherwise good experience.

Wow! The hot wings here are an absolute must! Do not leave here without trying then! Hot and spicy without being overbearing they had an amazing ranch sauce to dip into. I'm ended to say that it wouldn't have been a pretty sight watching me eat these! We also tried the pork taco, unfortunately that wasn't great with the pickled onions killing the taste of anything else and the taco was very light content, disappointing for the price tag. We saw a number of people trying the monster nachos, it is massive and definitly for a group of people, we'll try that next time. Location was viby and the service was top notch with the waitress checking in often send keeping us well watered and our drinks flowing. Best place I've been in ages! Location 10/10 Service 10/10 Food 8/10

Highly recommended. Good for groups. Good service for how busy it is. Really tasty food. Try the margarita slushy. Lamb ribs were delicious and tender with a mole sauce underneath. And the the crispy fish tacos in turmeric batter were flavoursome with good textures.

Great place for some Mexican food to share! Had a monster nanchos and that was more than enough for the 4 of us! The frozen margarita is the go to however!

Yum, great service. The woap burgers is worthy of 5 because of its daring to be different taste sensation that takes the brain a bit to compute. The huge nachos is huge only downside was may have scooped up a few bits of the paper at the bottom with the cheese chips. Inspired putting cheese at the bottom Son thought the tattle muncho things were a bit weird.

Great at what it does. Not fine dining, but doesn't pretend to be - just good honest Mexican styled food and a friendly atmosphere. The Smoked Brisket Tostada was a great healthy option and the Monster Nachos huge - more than enough for two! Only negative was the Jalapeno Poppers weren't available the night we went. These are highly recommended for a tasty starter.

Fun times! We all ordered on one bill (big group) and that was sorted between the group and then opened a new tab for another round which came to way too much.. like WAY too much. Think they may have found some stranded orders (from our group which moved a lot between inside and outside) that wasn't added in the first bill and added it to that bill. I think they should suggest NOT running big tabs for big groups and we also learnt our lesson. Their cocktails were yummy though and although I didn't eat there everybody else said the food was good. I will definitely go back though and it's great that you can still have a ciggie outside! We never really had to look for someone to order drinks from - we were checked on regularly. I will add another star if I tasted the food and it's good :)

Fantastic, buzzing place. Food and drinks came out quickly and looked absolutely amazing. The live DJ was great, 10/10 recommend to anyone in Wellington. Great prices/value for money for the size of the portions as well.

Good themed eatery with Mexican street food on offer prepared in generous and tasty proportions. It can get very busy so a quick tip is to ensure you're being charged for your table and not one in a similar direction to where you were sitting. Margarita's have become synonymous with Rosie's...and yes they are delicious and hugely popular.

The tacos were very good - robust flavours - well-balanced ingredients. The fried chicken sharing plate was dreadful - with the chicken strips devoid of any moisture. The ribs were perhaps left in the fryer a bit too long - tasty but definitely had the chewing that cones with being dried out. A nice place - but maybe we just hit it on a bum night.

Food was amazing, had the veggie monster taco and the chicken wigs, both were delicious and were plenty to fill us up and the frozen margaritas are a real treat. Had a small problem for our food order but the manager sorted it out real quickly and was lovely. Can't wait to come back.

This is the old munchens place, but so much better. The food is absolutely amazing. The margaritas are the best. The servers were very friendly and the service was super fast. Overall the food wins the heart and paired along with good weather and plenty of outside seating is just perfect. Came for dinner last night amongst hearing nothing but amazing reviews about this place. Service was terrible. After being sat at our table and having our drinks order taken we waited nearly 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We weren't given any water for the table. Our waitress didn't come to check on us to see if we needed more drinks so we walked to the bar and ordered ourself. The food on the other hand was really good but the service itself was a let down.

Internal acoustics terrible, exacerbated by loud music, impossible chat comfortably over lunch. we shifted outside, but the music was loud there too. As a middle-aged man with not the best hearing, I will sadly need to spend my money elsewhere in future.

Had the birria tacos which were average and pretty overpriced for what I got. My boyfriend got 2 different $9 tacos which were yummy but small and came over 20 mins after the rest of our food had arrived. The wings were great though, in price and taste so I highly recommend!! The strawberry slushy marg (once I got it) was sooo yummy! Would def try go there again just for that. Enjoyed it overall. Thanks

Come to rosies at least 3-5 times a month we love it! The food is always on point and quality. If anything is slightly off, the manager (blonde hair) is so amazing and fixes anything right away. The staff know how to handle a super busy large venue and service is always cheerful and fast. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting wellington! You can't go wrong with Rosies any night of the week and a margarita.. or 10! love you guys <3

The München looks very high-quality from the outside. Our waitress wore a bavarian costume and was very friendly. The atmosphere didn't seem quite comfortable but we could watch German soccer on big TVs and drink water for free which was very nice! There are only a few German dishes and others that aren't very German. Chicken wings, burgers and (German) poutine (which in reality is a national dish of the Canadians). The poutine was unfortunately not very delicious and also the jägerschnitzel didn't match our taste. In other reviews I read that the cook is German and that it is not 100 % possible to prepare the dishes as in Germany because New Zealand ingredients are used. Nevertheless, I believe that even with New Zealand ingredients and another cook a better quality in food would be possible. I would like to see that the München improves the quality of their food and that they add more German dishes to their menu. For 55 NZD it wasn't a cheap experience to try German food out of Germany but it was nice. Thank you guys!

Feb 2021: Loved sitting and watching the different generations dining in. Dad with teenagers, young parents with babies and toddlers, couples, groups. A place for all. Several things happened to make this a stand out dinner. 1)Nice range of drinks avaliable, I had a house margarita YUMMO.. 2)waitress gave great advise. So we ordered a starter and mains 3)not so good... Everything came at once.. We said to the deliverer of the meal we were expecting separate timings for the food. 4) he offered to take the mains back. We declined and kept all together. 5) the waitress that took the original order came over and apologised for the mistake. 6) fresh filling meals. Clean and bright. Thank you for a lovely birthday dinner.

First time at Munchen and I was totally surprised and impressed. We arrived at 21.30 for lunch so it wasn't too busy yet but music was on and a bit loud. Waiter saw we had an asleep new born and asked if we would like it turned down a bit which was appreciated and accepted. Service itself was great too, waiter conversed well and service for drinks and food was quick. The food itself was yummy and good sized portions. I had the chicken wings and wedges and hubby had the snitzel. Will definitely visit again :)

A clear evidence of Bavaria's far reaching influence with this Biergarten / Brauhaus in the heart of the capital. What a delight to find a piece of Heimat with authentic cuisine with even the Brezel freshly served from the oven making the the butter melt. All served by the friendly girls wearing Dirndl, what more could you want. So far the most authentic piece of Bavaria with only the Weisswurst missing on the menu. I was impressed and you will certainly see me again.

I love the vibe here and I'm a regular customer, alongside loads of other regulars I'm sure. I love the simple Mexican food on offer which tastes great. While the drinks are pretty standard fare, they definitely do the trick, especially the classic margaritas. While it can get cold outside, it can often be a little too noisy and busy inside. I recommend getting a good spot early on next to the outdoor heaters.

Our experience at Rosie's was awesome! We had Olivia as our server and she was quite possibly the best server I personally have experienced in my visits to Wellingtons restaurants! She was exceptionally genuine, friendly and made sure to keep our somewhat picky table needs met, and it was only her first week! On top of the great service the food here was great! Each of us had our own surprise of how wonderful each of our meals were and the odd requests we had for our orders were all met perfectly! We will be coming back here for sure!

I had some really delicious food but unfortunately service was quite slow and others at my table had disproportionately small meals for their price. That being said, the fried chicken was delicious and a good size fire the price. I've had the Wahlburger in the past which was also delicious. Friends getting the ribs or the tacos were disappointed in the value for money but said everything tasted nice, they just wished there was more of it.

Very cool vibe Munchen hosts that classic Bavarian beer hall style lightened by great interior design to match its seaside setting. Large and spacious Munchen is great for big groups, and has a superb array of German and Kiwi beers to keep all punters happy. The menu is hard on the South German style, so expect some delicious sausages and sauerkraut that’ll cut through the heavy gravy, pickle, and mustard flavours. Specials match beers with a meal for $25, and the beer hall bartenders each have solid knowledge of not only their HB beers but what matches will best precede, compliment, or chase you food. With knowledge and beer-appreciation like this, Munchen feels down to earth and very approachable by the average drinker. Go here for a superb walk through some of Bavaria’s best lagers, weissen, and ales, and enjoy light airy beach surrounds that could keep you seated there for many hours.

Good food, very nice. But terrible service. Place was busy 12/1/21 6:30 pm. After being seated we had to chase down wait staff to get a drink and food order in and that was it. After food delivered to our table the wait staff were never to be seen again! More attentive wait staff would raise revenue and make this place five stars.

Went here for lunch on a Thursday. Good service, nice environment - we were greeted warmly and well tended too. I ordered a haus burger (beef) , which came with wedges. The special was $20 that day for any burger and a beer, and I was pleased to be able to swap the beer out for a non alcoholic drink. The wedges were great, and we did't have to wait much. The burger - not bad, but not fantastic. Well dressed with great presentation - and tall, but not wide. There was a generous amount of ground beef, but it just lacked seasoning. Possibly a little too well cooked because it was a little on the dry and tough side, to spite being ground. Had it been me, I might revise the recipe (as cheeky as that sounds). The burger meat mix probably needs more salt at the minimum and some attention to the cooking method / duration. Overall - a really good experience especially as the staff were so accommodating and friendly. I'd probably go back.

In just one meal this has become our favourite Mexican place in Wellington, we tried the Koreatown fried chicken, Cheetos street corn, and the Birria tacos - all were outstanding in their own right. The service could not be faulted, with their staff apologetic and great about a wait time that we considered ‘the norm’ - not even considering we’d waited anything beyond usual.
