M.Recently stopped in based on some friends’ hyperbolic claims of the best burger in Wellington. Having tried both the fish burger and the Seaview Chicken Burger I’d have to say the burgers are indeed excellent but far from the best. In terms of size, they’d be tough to beat, the chicken burger in particular was so massive I had my doubts that any normal chook could produce a pattie this size. However, size isn’t everything and the other burger fillings are fairly generic. I would have definitely appreciated a dash of hot sauce, a slice of cheese or a pickle… anything to add a touch of sharpness. However, for a nondescript seaside chippy, you could do a heck of a lot worse.
R.Known for having the best chicken burger in Wellington and it definitely didn't disappoint. It filled me up and was a decent bit off chicken. Would recommend having a drink to wash it down. The chips were great to. Have been there a couple times and will continue to go.
J.I mean, look at that. It's a simple, well-made package of golden delicious; it's beachy business at its best.
R.Not the best chips I've ever had, but pretty decent. Best place in kilburnie area. They fry in vege oil, and even have vegan options (dumplings, but didn't try these). We ordered regular chips and kumera chips. Very reasonable price

l.I ordered doughnut. Was small and it seems to be the thing where bags have cinnamon and sugar put in them prior then just throw in hot doughtnut and we have to shake it. Never liked that cos by the tine you realize its gone warm and wont cover properly. The potato frotters were huge and crunchy..lovely. . I had a curry roll too. We bit overcooked but hot but i struggled with the cabbage in it. Half got swallowed while other half in mouth. It was stringy. I couldnt eat all of it. Id love to try their fish sone time . Their batter is lovely

V.I have been going here for 38 years, it started with my dad and when he passed away I still find myself with fond memories of the smiling faces and top notch fish and chips and amazing chinese meals and even better thick shakes.
If you are passing Lyall Bay treat yourself and go sit on the sea wall and watch the waves.

S.They do great have cut chips! We always like vinegar but they never put enough on for us. Great selection of food. Awesome selection of ice-cream as well and good sizes. Always seem a little disorganised but very busy whenever we go on.

C.We ordered 2 crumbled fish, toasted sandwich and chips. They started cooking the fish and chips then s few minutes later said they had no bread for toastie. I said okay 1 peice of battered fish. When we open up parcel to eat battered fish was not cooked enough. Seagulls got most of the battered fish, enjoyed the chips. Crumbled fish,,, comment was,,,really nice.
L.This has been our go to Fish &Chips for the last 4 years, wouldn't go anywhere else but we just finished our lunch (from there) and it may be time to start searching around. The fish price has gone up while the size if the fish def went down. Half the chips were their usual high standard but had to throw out the other half, which were burnt/yuk. And the usual wonderful friendly service but simply not there...so disappointed 🙁

D.This place spoiled fish and chips for us. Now that we've eaten here, we can't get fish and chips anywhere else. We have to drive all the way from Newlands to have good fish and chips, but it's totally worth it. The best fish and chips I've ever had and the staff are so nice.
R.Best fish and chips in town. Vicky and Richard are friendly and know all their customers. You can order over the phone as well. Consistently good fish and nice chunky chips. Great chinese food as well. A great variety. They also still do ice cream in a cone which is great to have when your at the beach
R.The fish was 5/5. Good size, crispy on the outside, excellent price and really tasty. However, the chips were dry, you have to pay extra for tomato sauce, and the tartrate sauce is just mayonnaise. Also I'm not sure what it's like here (as I'm from the UK) but no vinegar, mushy peas or gerkin options means it's not really a 'fish and chips'!
e.They have the best ever spring rolls. Filled with delicious savoury filling which doesn't scrimp on the meat. Super tasty. And their chips are really nicely cooked with a good balance of fat ones with fluffy potatoe filling and little crunchy ones to fight over.
The menu is extensive and the service fast.
H.I rate this 5 stars because the crumbed fish is the best I've ever had in nz. However, the chips could be better (crunchier and fresher). I rounded up to 5 stars because of the super cheap single scoops perfect for a wee treat (great ice cream selection) and the crumbed fish deserves an extra star.

A.At times this place is really very busy but the service efficient and good. The menu is the traditional fish and chip shop but it also has Chinese and other bits and pieces as well as ice creams

F.Pretty good service and clean. Recommend the crumbed fish, the chips are thick and chunky not to my personal liking but others may prefer. Access for wheelchairs does not exist and would be difficult for mums with prams.
