Great atmosphere and awesome meal.
I had garlic prawn pizza. Yum yum. Hubby had scallops, salad and chips. Wow at least a dozen scallops. Best meal he's had in sth Island so far.

Cozy bar and restaurant with camping ground just 10$/each per night with free WiFi, pool table, nice garden and relaxing area. Tania is really helpful and gives you advices where the best walking and hiking tracks are. Take a great little stopover at the Pines Tavern and enjoy a beer on tap.

Had a lovely meal there and a few beers to.
This is the men's toilet rather unusual I thought.
K.
Great place to park up for the night in the campervan, only 15$ for a powered site. The owners were friendly and welcoming with our short notice request
S.
Nice tavern with campground behind the building. Warm showers, good food and fast and stable Wi-Fi for the average for nz.

Was a mint spot to park up last minute on the night, every other camp site was booked and dont even get me started on the freedom site. The owner was warm and very helpful, she had kept open for us and farewelled on departure. Very quiet with the exception of native bird life singing and the train rolling past. Thank you for the stay and i hope to return again for a cold beer and a most relaxing stay.

Place freshly painted and altered...good luck to new owners..we'll be back!

The host are very kind. You got free unlimited wifi, hot shower unlimited inside for 3$ and clean toilet until 8pm. You can charge your device overnight. The outside toilet is like in any DOC campsite... So for 10 bucks a night it's all we can ask.

Lovely owners, beautiful country pub. What a place to have a pint and relax!
S.
Nice spot for a cheap price, very strange though that the owner is shouting at people (in her pyjamas) at 9:50 in the morning to warn everyone that you have to leave at 10:00..
