R.Has been a while since we visited my husbands favourite restaurant, and we found a complete menu refresh. Turns out the new menu was really good. A good range of old favourites plus some new and exciting dishes. Everything was delicious, with very clean tastes, fresh ingredients, hot and crisp. We will be back again very soon as there are so many dishes I now want to try. As always good attentive service. The complimentary buns and egg custard tarts were an added bonus. Best Chinese I have had in a long time.
B.We are really pleased! I regret not coming here sooner - we will definitely be back. There were delicious fresh buns brought out when we sat down. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The crispy chicken was cooked to perfection. We also particularly enjoyed the sesame beef. Easily the best Chinese food we've had in Whangarei.
T.Had dinner with my partner at the restaurant tonight for the first time and we were so pleasantly surprised at the fantastic quality of the food and the lovely service. We ordered a whole steamed snapper, eggplant with minced pork, and braised tofu with veggies. All the dishes were outstanding but the fish was the best - fresh, delicate, and cooked to perfection. Ava our server was wonderful and the restaurant was cozy and beautifully set up - the owners have obviously put some thought into the decor and ambience. So happy to have found an authentic Cantonese restaurant in Whangarei - can't recommend it enough!!
R.I am giving this a 5 because the food is very good and the waitress very pleasant and helpful. It is in the environs of a typical Chinese restaurant very low key. The tables are clean and toilets clean

a.Steamed dumplings were the best part of the order. Sadly the spring rolls did seem to be out of a frozen supermarket pack as previously suggested. Small portions which is ok we were not over hungry. Popcorn was average. Doubt we will re visit

J.Hands down the best Chinese Restaurant & Takeaway in Whangarei, perhaps all of NZ. The food is always top notch and the service is even better. Like many others have said, the honey chicken in particular is a stand out dish.

J.Went here with a large party at around midday and practically had the place to ourselves. Which is both great and a crying shame as this place makes amazing food and deserves to have more people though the doors. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced for the portion sizes you get. My personal favourites were the crispy roast pork and the BBQ pork buns, but everything we were given was great. The variety of meat vegetable and fish dishes was fantastic and means that there is something for everyone in your group to enjoy. The staff were friendly, attentive and the service was fast. Would recommend to anyone local looking to give yum cha/dim sum a try. 10/10

M.The food was amazing. Hands down best Chinese I’ve had in a while! Ordered the chicken corn soup, the black pepper beef, the chicken chow mein, spring rolls and egg flower soup! Omg all delicious! Spring rolls were light and fluffy home made and not shop bought. They let us have late lunch when they were actually closed! Staff were amazing very attentive! Love this place for Chinese food!

The sweet and sour pork was amazing.

Cons:
The spring rolls were 99% pastry with 2 small slivers of carrot and cabbage.
The egg foo young was tainted, and tasted like something was previously burnt.
The wontons were mostly pastry.
The noodles were a little oily and a bit hard.

A.Wow! We were hanging out for Yum cha and had resigned ourselves to the fact that this Yumcha would not match what Auck has to offer, how wrong were we!!!! Food was absolutely delicious, waitress was fantastic, little gem of a restaurant, don't judge a book by it's cover. Plenty of customer parking. They are open sat and Sunday for lunch, obviously yet to be discovered, great for families or groups!!
D.We regularly visit the takeaway section and find the buffet dishes to be excellent quality. Our occasional bookings and sit-down meal in the restaurant have always been a good experience, and the restaurant buffet meal on Sundays is both excellent value and such a large selection of dishes to choose from, including desserts.
P.Have only tried the smorgasbord, by that standard I would say the rest of the food range would be pretty much the same, which is excellent.
M.If you like a English style Curry try the special Curry and the ribs are great not sure if it's the same chief but I used to ask for the English Curry
