One of the Best Schools you could ever want your child to attend.
You are welcomed by the Professional,Pro Active ,Caring Staff.
Who not only want the best for you child, but the best for your family.
They encourage children to believe in themselves and never give up.
IF I could give 10/10🌟stars I would!!!
I have seen my Grandchildren bullied, ignored, and hurt at another school-
When they started at Opawa School they were treated with Respect-Understanding and Kindness.
They have a hands on approach with Education-its always about the best interests of the child.
I nearly gave up on NZ Education until we walked through the gates of Opwa School.

Excellent school can't thank them enough! carter's for all learning levels and needs as 1 of my children is dyslexic and was lost for many years at south Brighton school, she spent the last years at Opawa and excelled in her learn in so many ways as they went the extra mile. They also got her into a special class at hagley as she would have been lost in main stream... my other 2 children are not Dyslexic and go there even after moving out to rolleston and trying there school but only to be told by a teacher my daughter needs to change to fit in. I sorted a house out near opawa re enrolled them at opawa school then happily drove them to and from rolleston till we moved back into town. Kids are so much more happier now 😊

I attended this school once. Mrs Grimshaw was an excellent headmistress.
But I found myself thrown into detention on four occasions for the most bizarre reasons:
Detention 1 (2000, 5 years old)
Another student lied and said I was climbing the slide. I was then put into detention. I cried a lot. I swore to my teacher (Miss Cook), that I didn't climb the slide. She made the other student tell her the truth. She apologised to me and my parents for throwing me into detention. That's great, but I would really like my lunchtime back.
Detention 2 (2000, 5 years old)
I threw wet toilet paper onto the bathroom ceiling. Okay fair enough.
Detention 3 (2002, 7 years old)
Thrown into detention for re-enacting my favourite movie fight scenes with a friend.
Detention 4 (2003, 8 years old)
For playing tag. That's right. Detention for playing tag. Tag. Hide and seek was also against the rules.
Bonus story: A kid with ADHD took my bag off me, threw it into the urinal and peed on it.

My son loved the environment and as a parent I highly recommend this school.
