D.Yesterday, we graded for the first time and moved up a level to the next belt. Who would have thought that would happen to a boy who wanted to learn but was too shy to actually get on the mat! Three weeks of turning up and nothing happening, even with the lovely younger instructors urging him on, and I was ready to give up. It took Matt one conversation and showing him a few moves to have him gingerly joining the group and he hasn’t looked back. Over the past year and a half, it has been lovely to see him blossom to be a self-confident child who understands the importance of learning and hard work. A special mention to Noah – who is wonderful with the first timers and such a lovely mentor. Thank you, Matt, Noah and the rest of the team for the time, effort and dedication you all put into each child and session.

I.We love Proactive Martial Arts! It's the first time I see our boys so focused through a whole class. And they talk about their karate class all week. Matt is so good with the little Tigers. The children love him!

N.I've been attending weekly kickboxing classes at Proactive Cashmere for 5 years now, I find the classes to be exciting and a great challenge. I originally joined for the fitness, it has definitely been great for that. Over the past few years I've grown as a person and learnt so much about my own capabilities through this club.
The instructors are very welcoming and helpful, their range of technical knowledge in martial arts is incredible. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to improve fitness levels or boost self confidence.

L.Our 4-year-old was initially really reluctant to start the class but the staff were so kind and encouraging with him. By the time the warm-up was over, he was fully participating and totally getting into it. The classes for the young kids are fun and practical and I appreciate the firm but gentle guidance from the instructors. Matt clearly cares about the kids training with him and does a great job of teaching kids self-control and listening skills in addition to the technical martial arts skills.

I only left because I moved to the North Island but I will definitely go back once I move back to Christchurch. For anyone of any level looking for a great place to learn marital arts I cannot recommend Proactive Martial Arts Cashmere more highly.

J.Proactive Cashmere is an amazing place to learn martial arts, I have been coming here with my brother for the past 7 years learning Muay Thai kickboxing and have loved every moment! You get challenged and supported at the same time and the club really feels like a family - would absolutely recommend to all, whether you want to learn self defence, get fit or simply to try something new :)

B.I have been doing Kickboxing and Martial Arts at Proactive Cashmere for a while and have not been disappointed. The instructors are splendid and support you into achieving your goals. They take time out to explain routines when your stuck and are always there when you need them. Its one of the best environment to be at. M.Proactive Martial Arts Cashmere is a wonderful martial arts school where my son is loving learning Karate! All the staff are great and the leadership is excellent, and everyone is very encouraging, which is important. Well structured classes, and coaching from older karate students is super too!

N.Mr 6 tried out karate for the first time today. Just as the class began he burst into tears. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable despite this tricky reaction and the added commotion of myself and miss 3 joining in. Because of the kind, encouraging response we received my son couldn't help but participate after watching for 15mins. He left on a high and in his mind had the most successful time ever!! J.I have been going to proactive in cashmere for a couple of months now being trained by marie and i feel so comfortable and like i am in the best hands, everyone is so welcoming and friendly definitely helps when getting out of my comfort zone and helps me to keep coming back! Highly recommend.
i.I love Proactive Martial Arts, I go three times a week and I do Zen Do Kai and Kickboxing. Its such a fun friendly atmosphere and I have made lots of friends through martial arts. Doing Zen Do Kai has also boosted my confidence heaps. Would totally recommend to anyone of any age because there's something to suit everyone. 😊
