Very friendly people to train with, and Ryosei’s calm demeanour and depth of knowledge makes class a fun learning experience. Having been out of training for about a year, I was really glad to find Tauranga BJJ to continue my training.

Ryosei has created a fantastic team environment where students can feel comfortable learning this complex martial art in a safe, friendly, welcoming environment.
Extremely pleased with the depth of knowledge shown and demonstrated by the instructor. Overall the attention to detail is fantastic and will no doubt ultimately make the world of difference to the students in time.
Thanks again for your time, effort and energy.

Tauranga BJJ is a friendly professionally run organisation and I fully recommend it. ForJiu Jitsu newbies like myself, Ryosei is the perfect coach to introduce you to the sport. His extensive knowledge and experience are complemented by an ability to explain and talk you through the techniques. The atmosphere is positive, encouraging and supportive. Fully recommend!

I first heard about TGA BJJ through an Adults 1 week free trial via social media. I sat on the idea for a few days, maybe even a week.. Eventually I registered my interest via email. Within a few hours I had received a response of everything I needed to know. The who, what, when and wear (what to wear), all that was left for me to do was to turn up.
In the intro class we learnt and performed some of the fundamental moves. We also got to see practical applications of the movements which I specifically liked, I like to understand why or how things work. After class I was invited to continue or spectate, I chose to stick around and watch the normal class.
I was astounded by the skill of everybody training that night, from white to purple belts. There was a community feel that meant people were comfortable, safe and having fun. The instruction was clear, engaging and progressive. They finished off the class with sparring and although I didn't know what I was looking at (Still don't to be honest), I knew at that point that I wanted to be part of it.
Looking back on my sign up experience, the hardest part personally, was making the decision to email to register for the Adults 1 Week Trial.
If you're on the fence, you've read this far, I encourage you apply and I'll catch you in class!
