R.I took in a handbag with a missing lanyard. Not only did the team turn the job around in three days just before Christmas they managed to match the colour of the leather and the stitching without even being asked!
These guys are seriously amazing. And they have a good sense of humour
R.Amazing service and great work, these guys fixed my suitcase lock within a day, I dropped it in the morning and it was ready by midday!
The lock is better than first day and costed only $45!

J.Had my favourite pair of GYW service boots resoled at Gemmell's recently, and they did a fantastic job. It took a while though, as they didn't have the soles I wanted in stock, but it was well worth the wait.
It's good to know there's at least one shoe repair shop in NZ that can [properly] resole goodyear welted shoes/boots, stitching and all.

T.Took the frayed, worn, seemingly unrepairable straps of my beloved Everlane market tote and put an incredible wrap around the straps to hide the fraying. Did an incredible job of matching the colour of the wrap to the colour of the bag. I wish I brought in the bag new to get this sort of treatment; I wish Everlane just made the bag the way Gemmells delivered it to me. 5/5.

W.I am incredibly impressed by the workmanship and service. I took in my 6 year old Redwing Moc Toe boots for a resole. It took 1 week and the price was totally worth. They also had the original soles.
If you're looking to get you goodyear welted boots/shoes resoled for a price that matches their amazing quality, I highly recommend these beautiful people.
E.Took my Balenciaga leather backpack in for a zip replacement, as the zip is meta, apparently this is a common thing to happen with high end brands. Im very happy with the replacement looks exactly like when purchased.

L.Fantastic experience with Gemmells. First visit was a few years ago, just a pair of heels retipped so nothing special, good job nonetheless. This time took my RMs here for new rubber heel top piece- service and workmanship exceptional! Not only did they get the repair they went in for, but Blair went above and beyond and repaired / refinished the front where the sole was peeling apart, as well as a polish. Clearly passionate about what they do, I was nervous about sending my boots anywhere as they are 10 years old and my absolute favourites... but they've come back good as new and ready for a couple more years wear, after which I will happily send back to Gemmells again for a full resole.

D.Gemmell Footwear Repair shoe repair shop have been around Eden Terrace for ages! I will not be surprised if they are service third generation customer home! We get my wife’s shoes and my luggage repaired here. The locations is great, heaps of car park and there is even a bus stop nearby too.
Turnaround is fast, superb workmanship and the repair cost is affordable! Highly recommended to all! Keep up the good with Geoff

B.In a disposable, digital world there's something special about a place that still repairs things. Stepping into Gemmels is like going back in time, in a good way. Friendly, helpful service and quality workmanship all the way.
E.It would have been 13 years now since we first dropped in for a repair, it was a bag I believe and they did a good job. We've been back maybe another 3 times since then...yesterday was the latest.
Never fails to impress, these guys. The boys are all grown up now, Arran and Blair and mom still around. This repair was a bit harder but they made it look like it was easy! Very good work. The boys and staff are awesome, friendly guys ( maybe because their mom is always around haha). Kidding, awesome guys with awesome workmanship.
D.Took my very favourite document bag in for repair while down in Auckland. It truly was well worth going there, great advise and extremely friendly staff,no wonder they have been in business so long, fantastic repair job and even managed to match the old leather colour, well done Gemmell.
P.Good service though i thouggt their $85 charge for heels and sole of my dress shoes was more than i expected. I recommend being clear with costs before you start as there was no price board out.

D.What fantastic service!! Struggling to lodge a baggage damage claim with an airline and tried these guys before forking out the excess on a travel insurance claim. Within a minute, I had the spare part in my hand and it was a fraction of the cost of the insurance excess. Blown away by speed of service & friendliness of staff; quite rare these days.
S.We got our bag repaired, a new zipper was required. The quality of the repair was fantastic, you could not tell there had been a repair. Although it was slightly on the pricey side, but it was worth it.
T.Beware! Overpriced. Arrogant and dismissive, in particular the younger chap, who clearly does not value the business, $30 for lifts plus $20 for a tip of glue on the toe of a shoe after dropping $150 on the clean up of 3 pair of boots. Have used them several times and shall not return. Yes the work is good, but not fair value for money, Auckland does have alternatives.

S.Amazing. The soles of my leather boots were on their last breath. They have a new lease on life. $75 for a new rubber soles and leather inner to save a $350 pair of shoes. Very happy chap.
