Wide variety of aquarium supplies, and staff are friendly, overall was a great shopping experience, and I got everything I needed.

Only bought stuff online but it's awesome, fast, and with good savings. Their fish guy is one of the best in lower North Island too.

Dog wash used to be able to just walk in and wash, now it's always fully booked, signed up for the dog wash membership and pay annually but can't use it!

Went in to purchase a Betta fish and tank set up, and received lots of advice and tips from the staff! So we're waiting a week before adopting our fish to make sure it has the best possible transition from store to home. Very grateful for the knowledgeable staff!

Went to this store this morning for my dog and the moment I walked in the door I was warmly greeted by Connor who then proceeded to assist me with my enquiry even though they didn't stock it he tried to find a store that would be open to help which was appreciated. Then he kindly helped me find an alternative product. And Christopher on the counter was just as lovely and helpful. Overall fantastic experience today because of these guys highly recommend. Didnt have the product i needed, staff went the extra mile to try and locate. In the end they offered a different product which we wouldnt have had to introduce our cat to slowly which was great. There customer service standards are outstanding and glad i know i can go to Animates to get the right advice for our cat..highly recommended

My Dogg love this place very good customer service. They always greet me and my Dogg with a smile. They stock everything you need. I particularly like there Dogg bath facilities for my Dogg even though he doesn't bahahaha.

Had a awesome time. We had Chris (I think) serve us. He helped us out heaps. Made sure we were comfortable and stayed with us using the dog wash machine. He was very knowledgable about the products stocked. The whole team of staff really knew their stuff and seemed like they really cared and loved being there!!

Good product knowledge, even though they were out of stock they were willing to commit to the sale price at a later date. They continued to help explain efficacy of different products, what to look for elsewhere, one staff member followed another to learn more about the product from her. Good to see.

It was very nice and clean. Though they didn't have what I was looking for. (Freshwater snails.) I love the dog wash area and and its always fun seeing the pretty fish!

Primarily I use their dog wash facility, which is great, if not always clean or working. And they place lots of dog treats on the path to the bath, which is super annoying.

You can usually always find what you’re looking for at animates. Very easy going store with friendly staff who are always determined to be helpful. It was nice to see some unique fish species there as well. I enjoyed my experience at animates and look forward to visiting again.

Great range of good quality products, always go in and buy more than I intended. Though some things aren't necessarily cheap, they are excellent quality and well worth the price.

Great friendly bunch. Cheap pet collar tag engraving ($12.50 last time I went). They also have a dog wash. Not normally busy on week nights but super busy on the weekends.

Animates, Lower Hutt is such a great place to be in. The staff are so friendly and there is a wide range of all the things you could ever need to take care of your pet. I went in today and was greeted kindly by the wonderful staff and assisted to find what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend going here.
