I liked it...alot!
Cool way to spend time with the whanau, being creative, learning something and having a laugh.
McMillan Hand Thrown Ceramics were the people we visited at Alchamy Arts on Bateup Rd Richmond.
Combination artisan gallery, ceramic workshops and classes with skilled, patient instructors with a cafe set in park-like spaces inspiring the creative flows.
We did a Ceramics Workshop.
Full instructions provided. A wee history lesson, your own wheel, splash apron scraping tool, garotting wire and wet sponges time, goes quickly when your having fun (something soul satisfying about wet squishy mud oozing through your fingers).
A range of completion options for firering and glazing colour choices for your cereamic creations or leave it to the McMillans vast experience to give your peice a lift.
Pick-Up or postal/courier options available.

The kids had a great time painting pottery dishes. There were a lot of different pottery choices. Helpful paint tips and loads of glaze colours. Great experience, totally recomend.

Really enjoy this place. Firstly it has excellent parking. Flat access so great for anyone with a pram or who requires mobility assistance. Good variety of cabinet or menu food and drinks. The gallery is lovely to look at or buy (on the pricier side but is hand made and great for a pressie idea). Nice clean toilets. A variety of indoor and outdoor seating. An enclosed play area for toddlers. Outdoors the to so much room for kids to burn off energy and a cool old tractor to play on. What other cafe offers all of this along with friendly staff and only a couple of minutes from Richmond main centre.
