Eccentric store. Lot's of GREAT wines. But chaotic (in a good way). We spent way more than planned, but are looking fwd to enjoying the spoils in the future.

Everyone into wine, whiskey, rum, bourbon or gin must go to this Aladdin's cave. Complete with a wine genie called Jim. You won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend making the stop in Katikati just to have a browse through this incredible quirky, eccentric and fascinating collection of high end and possibly hard to find, or random beverages. I have never left without a varied box of gin, whiskey, liqueurs, wine etc that I may have sometimes not heard of before and I have never been disappointed with his suggestions. I will often repeat purchase previous suggestions. We try to time our travels through Katikati to make it here for opening times although he does courier as well. There is very little wiggle room to walk around, but I kind of like that aspect of the shop's uniqueness, and I think it adds to the experience. See you next time we are traveling through.

I got pointed to Finer Wines by the Vivino app as they had two highly recommended wines available for order. Great online service, one of the wines I ordered was out of stock so Jim contacted me and gave me the option of a different vintage or to wait a couple of days for more stock. Great to be given the option, I chose to wait. It didn't take long, the bottles arrived the morning after they were sent and were well packed. I recommend :)

The most comprehensive range of wines from not only New Zealand but around the world that you would ever find in this country. BUT wait, the owner of this establishment, Jim Bartee is amazingly knowledgeable of all the wines he stocks and you would do well to take his advice.

Huge selection of wines and a few liquors as well. Great wines to suit any taste. Jim has a wealth of knowledge about the flavour and history of the wines he sells. All are hand picked from around the world. He can help you find a great selection for any occasion. Highly recommended!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Best regional wine store in New Zealand. Owner is a maven of knowledge. Acquired dry sercial Madeira for me. Has the best selection of rare sherry. Knows I'm a demanding customer and always in a hurry to return home. Yet he still gives me great client service. Knows which of his clients are subject specialist experts, so is a real treat to deal with. Jim never asks me questions but suggests, wisely, whiskey that I should gift friends. A rare and important wine store. Dropped by today, Jim kindly recommended a wonderful peaty whiskey.

Wonderful store like an Aladdins Cave full of wonderment and surprises. Jim is so knowledgeable about the wines spirits and liqueurs that he sells. He will go out of his way to source something special. His wines vary from very reasonably priced to expensive. I usually buy the cheaper end and have never had abad wine. Jim is quirky too which makes a visit to his store more interesting.

Wow .. love this place, the proprietor is so knowledgeable and will suggest some great wines or other drinks suitable for your budget without being pushy. He knows where all his stock is, and considering how much is fitted into his shop, that is impressive. If you are driving through Katikati ... Pop in it's so worth it.
