J.What an amazing shop and awesome service. Needed some new hiking boots. Annalise, who helped me was great. She did a foot measure & really knew which boots would be better for a wide fit. Tried several on and tested on them on the ramp. Went for the Merrell Phaserbound 2.

A.Epic service from the after hours email they sent me through to ordering in the Helinox chairs I needed and they arrived a day early. The communication was brilliant and the shop has a great selection. Look forward to my next purchase with them.

J.We have, over the years now bought 3 pairs of boots and one backpack from Living Simply. This time I waited ages until my next visit to Auckland just to buy tramping boots from them. The staff really know their stuff, know how to fit boots properly, and they have a good range (including wide fittings). Literally, I wouldn’t buy tramping boots anywhere else in NZ. :-)
d.Great choice of outdoor requirements. Staff are friendly and helpful know what they are talking about. Shop is an Aladdin's cave of good quality equipment. Other sizes can be ordered in. I was recommended by a friend and would recommend to anyone that this IS the only shop you need to visit.

Its great to find a good selection of European and American brands of gear, clothing and footwear. N.Wow, what an awesome little shop this is. Gives off the feeling of being in a friendly hobby shop, rather than a larger retail chain with zombie's for employees. Alicia, Ben and Rob took the time to sit down with me and made sure I picked out the right mountaineering boots and crampons. Literally spent several hours in the shop walking around in circles, with the staff having a constructive argument over which shoe size would be best for me. They even did an urgent special order for me to ensure I got the right boots in time for my upcoming trip. Would highly recommend. Great grassroots store offering a large range of quality products. Many many great adventures to come thanks to you guys!
C.Living Simply is simply my favourite shop in Auckland! It is our family's "go-to" for anything to do with the outdoors. They stock high quality gear at reasonable prices and the staff are informed and helpful. They don't try and sell things I don't need and they don't encourage me to cut corners when I do need something. I have never been disappointed by my experience of shopping there. I can highly recommend Living Simply for packs, waterproofs, sleeping bags, torches, warm gear, boots and general tramping/camping as well as more specialised mountain gear. This is a family business at its best!

The store layout is intuitive and customer-friendly, and their prices are brilliant for a small, family-owned business. I'd definitely reccomend coming here!
S.I can't recommend the team here enough. These guys are legends. They give great advice, really know what they are talking about and aren't pushy or trying to make a sale. I had a problem with a jacket I bought there and they went way beyond the call of duty with the supplier to get me a replacement even though I had left the country a year ago and was still overseas. Great to see a locally owned business run by guys who love the outdoors as an alternative to the big chains with staff who don't have a connection to what they are selling. Better prices too and greater variety of products.

Outdoor equipment is very expensive in New Zealand with limited availability compared to elsewhere in the world, travelers should check ahead and look at bringing specialist items with them.
N.I am compelled to write a note to say what superb service the team at Living Simply provide. If you want excellent value, service and product advice then this is the outdoor store to support. The team here really know what they are talking about and clearly value their customers!
