Best ski boot shop I've ever been to or heard of. Extremely experienced staff spent several hours fine tuning the orthotics, boot lining, and boot shell of my new gear. Cheers, Andrew. The boots are incredibly snug & firm, yet as comfortable as old slippers. Fittings are far too good. Well worth flying in for, book in advance!

With renting they did not have option for our feet sizes 10,8 and 9.Was very disappointed but decided to buy new gear from x collective with is the best ski shop in New Zealand 😀

Leith is a boot-fitting master! Her years of experience really shine through. I thought I would have to buy new boots but she re-customised my old boots and I am skiing pain free for the first time. I spent a lot of time and money getting custom-fitted boots at another store. Despite multiple repeat visits I could not ski comfortably and my skiing was really limited by pain, numbness and bruised toe nails. Within minutes of meeting Leith she had grasped the biomechanics of my problem, and then re-customised the same boots, which now fit me so well. The appointment service means you have undivided attention and are not rushed. I highly recommend Gnomes and Leith, she really knows what she’s talking about!

Well my order was terrible, and it was all my fault! Thane did an amazing job of receiving my order back, calling me, getting the right product and size for me (even with recommendations) and having it shipped. Great gear and really happy!

The best ski shop in NZ! I've been coming to Gnomes for many years now and have always had an excellent experience, every time! Andrew, Leith, and Ali are the most knowledgeable people you'll ever talk to when it comes to ski gear, the area they really excel at is boot fitting though. They have done a few pairs of boots for me now and many for friends and family. They have nailed it every time, I would definitely call them master boot fitters. They don't rush the process (can take hours) or try to talk you into something that you don't need. They're definitely the only shop I would recommend in NZ. They also have a great range of high-quality products which ensures there's something to suit you perfectly, no matter what weird body/foot shape you might have. And if they don't have the perfect item for you in stock they'll know what you need and be able to get it.

Can not recommend enough, having always bought ski boots from other "reputable suppliers" i was cautious when seeing they might not be the cheapest in the market. BUT i have never had better fitting boots with better service. Have since taken all my friends in to also get proper fitting boots! such kind staff and great after sales service. Don't go anywhere else for boot fitting! thanks guys

As a novice skier, I initially thought I am doomed to a lifetime (well, maybe a week a year) of sore and painful feet because of tight fitting ski boots. Luckily our online search brought my wife and I here. I only realized my feet width is considered "problematic" within nz ski boots standard, specially towards the end of the season when stocks are low. We are very glad they did all their best to help us out, spanning two days in one week period, trying and retrying available stocks, and then searched from their other stocks just to find one that fits me, all without being pressured to buy any. I ended up with a nice pair of boots, fully adjusted to a comfortable level, and I'm looking forward to a pain-free skiing over the weekend. Thanks guys!

Bought a helmet online that I ended up needing to return. They made the process a breeze and staff even went the extra mile of trying to source an alternative model for me. Their pricing was also cheaper than other stores for the same model, would definitely recommend!

Went here for bootfitting last season and would recommend Gnomes to anyone. I made an initial appointment and spent 2-3 hours being fitted incl. making custom insoles, and when i started having trouble with my boots later in the season, the team was always happy to help me whenever i dropped in. Really friendly and professional! I've been extremely happy with the service here.

Amazing service. I bought most of my skiing equipment here, they gave great advice and I ended up with exactly what I was after for a good price. Highly recommend!

Fabulous experience, very informative. Received snowboard boot fitting and custom footbed fitting from a very knowledgeable staff member. Impressed with her expertise. I feel like I've been to see a podiatrist to get snow board boots. Wouldn't have received this service elsewhere, highly recommend.

As I am not into skiing I did not go into the store, but if you are looking for a great feed and an awesome cup of coffee call into the Cave. They are situated beside Gnomes in a converted caravan set up as a mobile shop. It is the perfect place from which to grab a burger and coffee while returning your skis. Highly recommended.

The owners and their staff all have indepth knowledge of everything snow sports. From expert ski boot fitting (one of the best in NZ), ski equipment and clothing, to travel bags. You can hire your ski/ snowboard gear at Gnomes. The service is unparalleled, people are friendly and passionate. They are a one stop shop for all your winter sports gear.

Excellent service. Took 2hrs to sort Boots for my wife but at the end they were a perfect fit. Andrew was super helpful and patient with the process.

Booked our rental online the afternoon before picking up gear which was easy. Made for quick and easy pick up in the morning. Seemed to have a good range of other gear on offer too.
