Jen was equally as awesome to deal with. I also purchased new skis and they gave me all the information I needed to make the right choice. h.Great really great experience renting at biz ski last weekend. The guy(really sorry I forgot your name mate) who helped us was such a nice person and gave us really good vibes and good tips..We actually saw him skiing the day after in the mountains and he even remembered us and say hello to us. S.We needed snow chains as a backup for Whakapapa, but rentals are super hard to find. Alpine Centre offered us to purchase them, then return them with a discount of 25$ if unused. Excellent option for us, happily did that. Super friendly and helpful too.

P.Awesome service, there is an american guy here who's name I cannot remember right now but he is the best person to be accomodated by. Super nice, and great customer service! We were initially greeted by a younger girl who really didnt seem to care about service but when he took over, it was the best experience. He really focused on giving us something that worked for us. T.Great location for us (we stayed in National Park going up to Whakapapa Ski Fields) huge store, affordable prices, majoritively friendly and helpful staff - bar one young female staff member. If the rest of the staff weren't so kind and friendly, i wouldn't have rented from here.
This was our first time snowboarding on the ski fields, and we came to rent some gear over the w/e. We were met by a young female staff member who came across quite rude, and reading in previous reviews sounds like the same person. She didn't make our first experience very nice, she was impatient & condescending. We let her know we wanted to rent some equipment for 1 day, and some for 2days, (as we already had a package booked on the skifield for the 1st day which included some gear) instead of checking how she could accommodate, she insisted on charging us everything for the full 2days quite rudely, even though we wouldn't be using it all for full 2 days, to which we said no, which seemed to inconvenience her to then find out what to do.
She also assisted us with trying on snowboard boots, which again she was impatient and condescending talking to both of us like we should know how to do up/fit into/and undo the boots, and rushing me to take my shoe off to get sized when i was first taking my jacket off to sit down properly. My boots felt quite tight which i asked if that is normal and how tight should it feel, which she just said 'good, so you don't break your ankle' and didn't offer me any other sizes. My partner also only got offered another size cause he kept insisting the first size wasn't comfortable, then she obligingly got another pair to try.
After using the boots on the skifield i found them too tight and actually had to take them off a few times during boarding to relieve the pressure as my toes were in pain.
When we returned the gear it was the same staff member who took the returns, and just told us to throw the boots on the floor and didn't give us a friendly greeting, or ask how everything went, just checked that everything was returned.
The older man who fitted our snowboards was very friendly and helpful, as was the 2 older women who helped with our checkout and payment. I've previously worked in retail/hospitality for numerous years and recommend training your young staff member with more acceptable customer service skills since she is a face for your business. Kind, friendly and helpful customer service goes a long way.

Not even a hello, just a bossy straight faced "You returning gear, over there".
I think it goes something like "Good afternoon, are you here to return your gear? Just place it over there. Thanks." A smile and maybe some eye contact, just to make the place feel a little warmer as it did that morning.

B.Friendly staff and really handy that they are open until midnight on Fridays to hire gear. Didnt take long to get geared up. Hireage is cheaper the more days you need it.

There boot fitting service goes far beyond just selling you a pair of boots but will ensure that they are working perfectly for you making adjustments as they are needed. I.Best service and hiring experience. We hired ski gear for two families with kids there. They went way beyond their duty of care and help my friends to get to the mountain by shuttle bus. Shuttles didn't take any more passengers up to Whakapapa at the time but with multiple phone calls and follow up from Ski Biz, my friends were able to go up and join their kids who had already gone up. Will definitely come to you every time I need ski gear in National Park Village. Thanks
M.I went there to hire waterproof clothes and boots for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
- GOOD QUALITY, the boots have been already used of course, but very comfortable, really appreciated for a 7h walk!
- Friendly staff, even though I arrived few minutes before closure.. quick and efficient, she made sure that the boots and the pants fits me, she made me try different sizes. Then you just need 2min and your credit card to fill in the information on the laptop.
- 10$/item for one day, I don’t know the price for longer.
- Open until late, no rush after the walk
Plus, you are in a small village, you can walk from your place to this shop and to a cafe to enjoy a warm hot chocolate after the Crossing!

Y.Can't find a better rental store! We arrived at the store late in the evening. The owner was super helpful and show great hospitality to discuss our northern circus plan with us. She is more of a friend who's always willing to help rather than just a businesswoman. She doesn't recommend you to rent things you don't need. Although we could not make it to the volcano due to the harsh weather, we had a very good experience at this store. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
F.Have rented gear several times, always happy with the service and equipment provided for the family. Love the late nights and that they keep our details on record so is really quick to swing by the night before. When a ski was accidentally damaged on the field the pair was replaced straight away, no hassles. Highly recommend.

C.Fantastic. Saved me in a pinch, as they sell camping gear. Got more than expected, as Robbie filled us in on the mountains, hiking paths, where else to go in NZ, and also local character. He was so funny and nice! Can't speak to their rentals, but I imagine they do a fantastic job.
C.Fantastic rental store. Exceptionally priced, the gear is in very good condition, and the store owner was very informative. She even helped us book our shuttle. The store is very conveniently located near the Tongariro crossing, so we parked our car here all day.

M.Absolutely 5 star service from those guys. They have me an almost new board. Told them I don't like the boots, they went right away to find a replacement. Of course I am picky and didn't like those ones either, so purchased some from them at a very competitive price.
Much better pricing and faster service than the hire places near the ski slopes.

M.The place to go if you want to do the Tangerino Track and are not well equipped. You can rent boots, Jackets and Trousers for little money and also book your shuttle for the next day. Friendly and well expierenced staff!

H.A went here to rent a snowboard and a pair of boots for the day, the staff were very helpful, I also rented a mask and googles. I asked someone where I could find gloves and they showed me them so I could buy them. They have cheap prices while offering high quality gear.
J.We are in the summer to do the Tongariro Crossing and luckily summer hours are 4:00pm-7:00pm. Regular hours in the winter. We were able to grab some equipment the day before the crossing. They have rain gear, hiking gear as well as outdoor equipment too. Ski stuff in the winter. Recommended if needing something.
