Reviews of Japan Mart City Central
O.
Good shop with a lot of Japanese food
R.
It's not a huge Japan Mart but it has what I like...miso, noodles, frozen fish roe, seaweed and furakake, rice snacks. The instant rice porridge is too $$$ make your own!
M.
Huge Japanese store in the heart of the city. Hard to find parking , but ok for a Sunday. Heap of fresh Japanese food for all pockets. There is a small section with after the best date products with decent products still edible with a great price. Some cleaning and beauty products are sold there as well. Worth a visit.
C.
A Japanese shop with a wide range of products and inexpensive,Nice
A.
Friendly and accommodating staff members who are providing great service. Their prices are reasonable with a good range of products. Parking in the area is very-very challenging so it's better if you either walk or use public transport.
L.
Love this place. Large variety of Japanese stuff. Yummy 😋
D.
Great place to buy Japanese food, friendly staff , reasonable prices always something new to tried.
J.
Awesome. But ... depends on what's in stock. Bought miso yum.
h.
got its discount card number saved on my email but need to show my proof of id just because its not register under me but my wife. whats an incovinience.
m.
A good variety of Japanese food. Service is always good. Just a bit hard to find parking where it is. But still my favourite Japan mart branch to date.
R.
Japan Mart City is quite a large store specialised in Japanese food and other miscellaneous items in Central Auckland. Other than food, there are sections for Japanese cosmetics, dinnerware and a $3 section at the back of the store, filled with everyday goods. I do mention that compared to the prices in Japan, the goods here are notably higher - I wouldn't personally shop here every week. Nevertheless, it's an excellent all-rounder store to purchase some Japanese goods.
D.
I love coming here! They have an assortment of food, snacks, condiments, flavourings, drinks, even bath and kitchen products 🤩 I sometimes just drop by to have a look around, and I’ll almost always end up leaving with a bag of stuff that I bought but didn’t really plan on getting 😆
Most of the items are written in Japanese, but their staff are very kind to point to the right direction when you’re looking for something specific but can’t immediately find. This is also where I found these really yummy mochi ice cream balls that are much cheaper than buying from yum char restaurants 👍🏼
N.
Nice selection of Japanese food and drinks. Best Japanese grocery store in Auckland CBD.
J.
Helpful staff, good selection, great liquor store.
E.
So great what you can buy here
L.
I've the selection :) it's great to have authentic Japanese ingredients available. Sadly it's pretty expensive but look out for the clearance section for some reasonable deals (also check your international section in countdown as they often do clearance prices if what you want is too expensive) and/ or grab a box of 9 ice cream mochi - you'll fall in love.
I.
Big store with everything you could need
T.
I'm from Japan and living within 3 minutes walk to this shop. It deals with valious Japanese products and very exciting for people from my home country. I use this place several times in a week. Although items in this store are a little bit expensive, it is really convenient and satisfying.
D.
Conveniently located in the Auckland CBD, this place has a large range of Japanese products that I love and miss. Each Japan Mart store always has a "Reduced and Expired" shelf where products are heavily reduced to clear but still edible and tastes good, this is the place I look forward to the most to grab a good bargain. The biggest downside for me is the ability to get parking as it's just a pain to find one nearby.
S.
Amazing service
Such Kind Staff
Huge Variety and had exactly what I needed
C.
Best place to get Japanese groceries
W.
Loved the treats in this store as it summarises about 5% of what you would typically find in Aeon or OK store in Japan. But if you do pop by any supermarket in Japan, you will be overwhelmed! Prices are high here as compared to similar product in Japan.
I.
Brilliant range of Japanese imported goods. Food, kitchenware and other assorted items.
Prices are very reasonable.
H.
The space is good, they have big variety of products. Some products is too expensive but understandable, since it's from overseas. I recommend this market.
A.
I actually found Meiji Macadamia chocolates here! Searched all over auckland for over a year for my wife's beloved snack and finally happy to have found it stocked.
M.
Decent range of product but still doesn't come close to a store in japan. Not their fault.
Y.
Has almost everything a konbini has in Japan and more missing a few of my Favorite ice cream but still super good also next door kinda apart of the store is Japanese alcohol shop
J.
Great place. Quite good bargains. Most items are $ 3 only
D.
Amazing prices for import goods. Plus the staff are so lovely and helpful!
M.
Lovely supermarket with exotic Japanese products. The staff very polite and friendly. The display is great and the prices are ok.
D.
Awesome, got so many things I haven't had since I was in Japan. Pretty Reasonable too
T.
A wide range of Japanese (& Korean) products, good layout (unlike some other small grocery stores where there's hardly room between aisles to navigate)
Fast checkout
M.
Website is amazing, prices are great, awesome product range too ^_^ I found everything I was looking for
R.
Small, but choice selection of Japanese goods and wares. Exactly what I needed to round out my cooking supplies.
c.
For cheap culinary goods and authentic Japanese food items this place is great, try out your Japanese language skills here too!
D.

T.

M.
A Japanese grocery stored located in Auckland CBD. It sells a variety of items at affordable price.
M.
Interesting oriental snacks and foods. The Japanese are better at candies than chocolate so I recommend the sweeter stuff
M.

(Translated) I go a couple of times a month. I mainly buy seasonings and frozen foods. It is also attractive that each Can Do product sells for $ 3.

(Translated) I wanted to try my own Japanese cuisine. My friend introduced this restaurant. It really has everything in it. I bought soup, kelp, small fish, etc., and I went home to try each one. The clerk is very polite, not very good English, but slowly said that there is no problem communicating with others. Pleasant shopping.

想试试自己做日本料理,朋友介绍了这家店,里边果然什么东西都有,买了汤料,海带,小鱼等等,每样一个回家试试。店员很客气,英文不是很好,但是慢慢说跟人沟通没有问题。愉快的购物。

(Translated) If you want Japanese food, you should go first
We don't sell much of what we sell as “special gems” in Japan, but there are quite a few products that are in constant circulation
There are some things that seem to be outside of Japan (non-Japanese).

(Translated) There are typically Japanese products. Only problem, the salesgirls have trouble understanding: they are Japanese, and they are rather for a Japanese clientele. But rather nice.
(Original)
On y trouve des produits typiquement japonais. Seul hic, les vendeuses ont du mal à comprendre : ce sont des japonaises, et elles sont plutôt la pour une clientèle japonaise. Mais plutôt sympathique.
K.
(Translated) Is it okay for the shop itself to have a lot of Japanese food? I think the clerk's attitude is bad, so if you go, I recommend you to go to the new market.

お店自体は日本食が沢山あり良いのですか私が思うに店員さんの態度が悪いです、行くならニューマーケットに方をオススメします。
