Your typical pak n save. Usually busy on weekends as everyone comes in for shopping. Reason for 4 star being ever since the lockdown, its a bit hard to get all the veggies or fruits in your list as either its all taken or not filled up.

We’ve been doing our groceries here for years. The store is clean, organize with good prices and good selection of products. The staff are also friendly and hard working. Our cashier today, Dali S. was lovely and has put a smile on our faces. Cheers!

Best supermarket in town. Prices are excellent, one of the lowest you can find in NZ. Fruits and vegetables are fresh. Meat and seafood are fresh too, prices are reasonable. There's variety to choose from. I can get a trundler of the same food paying a lot less than elsewhere. Keep it up Pak and Save!

Always great value and excellent service. At Level 4, Click n Collect was completely contact less, the helpful staffs just gets the order number from car window, then loads the stuff into car boot. No getting out of cars at all, keeping everyone safe. Good job. THANKS.

Good price and varieties for groceries, meat and fresh produce, I'm glad I found this place. Fresh produce is good as well, but you won't find everything here. Open late which is convenient for me as I can shop after work.

I just found out the “Mrs. Macs pie” 👉“beef cheese and bacon “is the best pie I had for a long❤️ : pastry is not fattening and filling is so delicious👻, my manager said she never eat a pie and I make her eat one. Good selection of fresh options. Seemed very busy for Level 4 lockdown and lots of people not respecting the distancing rules (that's on them not the supermarket)! Special shout out to the lovely lady on the security at the front door. (Thursday 16th 11am ish). It can't be easy and people certainly weren't very kind considering her job and everything she was doing was to keep us and herself safe!

The Albany one is awesome, it's probably the best stocked pak n save I've ever seen. I really appreciate the amount of vegetarian and vegan products they stock, often in clearly labelled sections so that it's easy to find. The aisles are nice and wide too so you don't get stuck behind people while shopping.

It is a very relaxing atmosphere at a supermarket Congratulations on winning the Supermarket of the Year award, this is such a deserved award, keep it up and thank you for making our shopping experience such a pleasure, especially the hours that they are open for. I often go just after they open to do my shopping, all the shelves are full and the Bakery baking is extremely fresh. They have a very impressive fresh produce section, fresh and frozen fish as well as meat section. They run regular lower prices and at least once a month they do either the $2 week, $5 week or meat week. Great specials are to be had. The overall pricing is good. Lots of parking under roof and in front of the supermarket. They whole team that works there are very friendly and extremely helpful. Come support our local businesses and be friendly to all the staff. This specific P&S, I highly recommend and this is my go to shop, even for something small. They also have a Sticky Coffee shop at the entrance, very good coffee and well priced, have a wide variety of Tea's, Frappes, Smoothies and snacks. My Coffee stop when I leave to go home after my shopping spree. They have been doing an amazing job during these tough times and trying their best to keep the racks stacked. Shout out to your whole team for working under difficult circumstances. This is why I still prefer shopping here. Let us keep on supporting the local businesses, highly recommend.

The fruits and vegetables are always fresh. The setback is on the small trolley, they are never enough, I think the management knows that customers like the small trolley for it's easy to maneuver, but I can't understand why they don't want to provide more? Consistently great PAKnSAVE with quality fresh offer and great customer service. The Produce and Butchery departments are destination departments for us - we travel past other supermarkets to shop here. I also like the fact that they are locally owned and operated and that they are considerably cheaper than Countdown.

Fruit and vegetables were not the best quality, looked like they were from someone's garden out the back of the house. When meat specials are on the prices are fantastic. Generally the store is clean and very little clutter standing in the isles. Overall good but fruit quality could be better.

We often drive from Warkworth to Albany to shop here. It's one of the oldest supermarkets but very impressive. We really enjoy shopping here. It is clean and spacious. It has everything stocked that you can think of.

Of course the pricing is a main factor of choosing to shop at Pak n Save. I am greeted with a smile which continues around the store. The staff are always ready to help me with finding a product, not just telling me what aisle but showing me. There is a choice of checkouts, the usual or self serve. Over all a 10/10.

Usually have good specials. I often go out there for Praise mayonaise because they are one of the few that stock the large one for under $6. Last trip i was happy to stock up on tomatoes for 5.99 per kg after seeing them everywhere for $12 per kg. They also have a good well priced gluten free section

Groceries LaLa land.. it has changed the product display and with it came the price increase. The changes has not made any more convenient for shopping but yes now you will pay any where between 10-20% more for the same products. I find Pak n save at Wairau Park much better than Albany and try to get my grocery from there though it is a little far from my place.

This is always one of the places that is always on my ‘Must Go’ places on a daily basis, the shelves were very organized and the staff were willing to help. The prices are at an unbelievable low price, and I have greatly enjoyed my time there. Anybody going to Countdown or New World?? Come to PaknSave instead!!

Pak'nSave Albany is a very good supermarket. However it is not perfect and to become excellent and get five stars, they would need too improve their red wine selection, provide more and fresher organic produce and a broader range of organic products, and renovate the bathrooms. Other than that, they have a great range of most other groceries, flowers and conventional produce, excellent prices and always plenty of parking, including underground, out of the weather.

Lot of space for parking and lot of space between isles. However this store does not have much cooked /roasted meats as some other pak n save shops.

Pakn Save Albany is one of the better branches - wide selection of products, staff are helpful and friendly (checkout, support staff). Meat section is great, followed by fruit & veg and then only fish - not fresh sometimes dried up and very expensive - prawns and frozen items are mostly from China - would not touch Chinese food items ever. Suspect our good local ones go to China and we receive their toxic versions. Signage and information sharing with customers needs to be improved - the all powerful buyers in head office are mentioned by staff but they seem inaccessible. Explain reasons for products not being available, estimated supply chain times - use your deep data analytics or info from overseas suppliers- having to continously check shelves and trip times are annoying.( why not put the availability, ETA on the web site and use electronic signage for each aisle).Noticed that countdown has Soy based cream from Belgium PaknSave does not - non dairy is becoming more relevant. .Parking under cover is great and staff are very good. Will keep coming back for now.

Shopped here today, three & half weeks into lockdown. No queue (morning shop) and the store looked fantastic! I managed to get all that I needed, including flour. Everyone respectful of distancing and checkout operator quick and efficient with my large shop. I was impressed compared to other supermarkets I have used recently. Well done P'nS Albany.

Large selection and very big store. Not a good environment to be in though. Quite hectic and over-whelming even on a quiet day. Plus the temperature and change in air pressure was unnerving. If you have a disability then just be aware that the environment can be triggering for it (obviously depending on your disability). Of course not much to change as this is the nature of a big building. Glad they have a click and collect option!

You can do most of your shopping here, although I don't regularly do my Fruit & Veg shopping here as I find that it doesn't last too long. Highly recommend not going during peak hours as it's chaotic. I'd appreciate it if they could label the aisles as its quite a big store and would make navigating a lot easier, especially if you're looking for something specific. Fantastic range of products and customer services tend to always be spot on! I think it would be marvellous if we could see perhaps a "client" Membership card to be issued. Great savings. Oh and... During peak hours the hunt for boxes is rather entertaining! :D

The 99c week advert was a ruse to get you to shop at pac n save! 3 barrels of apples in front entrance and broccoli. Didn't see much else at that price and that's just 2nd day of sale. Checkout staff lovely though and a customer helped get something off a higher shelf for me. Didn't seem to be many staff in store.

It used to be great place for a fruit too, but by a year of my observation, fruit was getting worse. Avos, kiwis, bananas, melons too green to ripen into sweet taste...oranges from USA which sucks, tangerines with no juice in it, tomato green and hard, piers hard with no natural sugar in it. I am very desapointed and don't understand why such a poor items getting stocked in there. No quality control before stocking??

Partner took a sodastream bottle for swap. Got home and finds she has the wrong sodastream bottle. Who knew there were two different bottle shapes ! Go back to pak n save. Without a receipt. Took a while but the customer service people identified the transaction. Saw the problem. Swapped the bottle to the correct long neck type and all with a smile. I hope they were smiling as we all had masks on. Well done the CS people at albany.

I absolutely love this supermarket. It fits my criteria of having a wide range of goods (both fresh and non perishable) at very affordable prices in a decent setting. It also holds the record for being the cheapest supermarket in the country many times over the years. Put it this way, my grocery bill here is always higher than average because I see so many excellent deals that I don't get in other stores. Like any store you have to know your prices but when you see any bargains, they are true bargains. Extremely well run. Beautiful flower selection and cheaper than many places too.

Easy access together with good parking. Largish cut price supermarket. I was once told that if you walked all the aisle you would have covered one kilometre. At that time it was said that this Pak n Save had the highest turnover in NZ. While the range is more restricted than it's related company New World it still has most quick moving stock items. You are expected to provide your own bags in return for the cheaper prices. They do however have bags for purchase of you wish.

It's a really good pack and save great to see the shortcut past all the fresh stuff handy when you quickly need something from the end. Parking up top can get a little crazy but one underneath normally has some free closer to the door so we always do that. It can get pretty crazy at peek times but I've never been in a line more then 2 long at any cheak out. Plus the self cheak out is always quick for those drop in shops.

This supermarket is busy, bustling and full of customers and produce most of the time. I always find a car park outside by driving around but there are lots of spaces in the underground carpark too. There is a disabled ramp from the underground carpark but no lift. I find this supermarket has a great meat selection in sizes ranging from small packs to bulk buys and all at affordable prices.

Lay out is good, staff is usually friendly and they have a larger selection of items compared to other pak n save locations, however, I find the quality of fruits, vegetables and meat is not as good as my regular pak n save (silverdale). It's also almost always crowded, so if you don't like that, I suggest you go someplace else. *comment on crowding was not factored into my rating*

Great variety, low prices. Only negative is waiting time at checkout's. This happens because of the large numbers of people who shop there. So you have to take the good with the bad.

Great produce and prices. They have an okay selection of vegetarian/vegan alternatives. I find it ironic that they charge for plastic bags at the checkout lines, but give them for free in the produce section. Please take the bags out of the produce section, they aren't needed!

I had bought a piece of Salmon on Christmas Eve but the very next day it had gone off whilst still in its packaging I visited the store on the 27th Dec and asked for a swap .I met Tim the Seafoods Manager he was an awesome listener and immediately addressed the complaint and got me a refund This is what one calls prompt customer service without too much hassles!

This is the benchmark of supermarkets in Auckland in my opinion. The selection is great, all the department's have fresh produce and are friendly. They even have staff dedicated primarily to helping customers in store. Being a pak'Nsave the price is always cheaper than countdown or new world.

Big grocery store,with heaps going on..Feels like the biggest store I've visited. The produce and butchery areas are well stocked, organized, clean and fresh with everything available and at very competitive prices.Pak n save have the best grocery prices in NZ most of the time plus the customer service is outstanding and very helpful..Here are the down points about Pak n save Albany: My car has been almost hit x2 in the car parks, be careful. The store is always very packed and busy with long waits to get served and get out the isles.especially in the vegie area and checkout..I'd recommend comming here in the early morning or late evening.

This is a big PAKn'SAVE, it's got the whole range of groceries and some essential cooking equipment as well. Very good and clean butchery section which is great. What isn't great are their un-trackable price variations and marketing games that a typical large supermarket would have. I.e. The "extra low" red signs that are put on some products hide what the original price was and most of the time I see the extra low being the same as the original price from memory, if not a slightly higher price. Those signs also lack the equivalent cost per unit volume or weight equivalent which is really useful for comparing different products and even though pm the normal tags they're there but made super small and hidden in the lower right corner on the plastic part of the holder that warps that number. Also those tags in the freezer section are nearly impossible to read because they're so far away leaving it hard to compare different items. Speaking of different products, it's frustrating to see so few competitor products on the shelves and limited ranges of certain items that you'd find in other stores, there's obviously some exclusivity deals going on that limit what's purchasable at these stores. The bulk section is far more expensive than buying the same produce packed by other brands. I'll update this review with images next time I'm in and reference the points made above.

What Pak'nSave lacks in product variety and selection, it makes totally up in pricings and service. Staff are ALWAYS friendly and eager to help anyone who is new to the chain's universal layout and will not merely tell you which aisle number the product you seek lies, but will escort to where the product is. This has happened everytime I have asked different staff for direction. ALL the checkout staff in the store I have encountered are friendly, talkative and genuinely want to know how your day has been unlike Countdown where the staff by rote and by culture are normally sullen, rude, argumentative and unwelcoming. It is all down to which groups management at head office wish to have serving in their company as well as the culture that they nuture, ask and expect from the staff they choose to have serving us. Definitely worth revisiting on a daily basis (as and when your larder needs resupply or for the next hot meal as the store has ready-to-go meals therein). Any stock Pak'nSave does not have can be instead purchased from their sister store New World beforehand (as well as free bags for the upcoming visit. Five stars from me.

Staff is very friendly. And unless the place is very busy - check via Google for quieter times - it's easy to find a car park and to complete your shopping. For most products you won't find a cheaper place. For some it pays off to check other places. For example Prosciutto Crudo. There are times when you can get it at a lower cost at Farro. Overall PAK'nSAFE is where I do most of my grocery shopping.

Can get very crowded on a weekend and certain hours during the day.They have a good selection of products but they're not the cheapest overall. Some products might be cheaper but others are cheaper at Countdown, e.g. frozen veg and Tip Top Bread at $5.50 for two, opposed to Pak N Save's $2.89 per bread. It is best to know prices. Vegetables and fruit are not the cheapest. The best prices and quality is at the vegie store. I do not buy mince from Pak N Save as they are very expensive. The Mad Butcher discounts their prime mince quite often to $8.99 p/kg. Pak N Save could do with some hot meals like their sister company, New World. (Both are part of Foodstuffs). Their range of nice big cakes are also limited.

This is a new brand I have not come across. What is more annoying so many sellers in farmers' markets selling manuka honey at commercial prices. To justify that they claim it's "handcrafted"!!!

Who looks for a review on PaknSave?Everybody loves shopping in PaknSave. But all PaknSave are not the same as it is owned by different individuals. The Albany PS has grown gradually and I guess its one of the biggest earning PS in Auckland. The peak shopping days are Saturday and Sunday and if you prefer going on weekends be prepared to queue up at checkout for sometime. There will be people from Dairy Flat and near by places driving to Albany for their weekly shopping. I prefer to go on weekdays and its better with the crowd.
