Reviews of PAK'nSAVE Royal Oak
S.
Warehouse style supermarket reminds me somewhat of Real Canadian Superstore, Iceland's Bonus and the early days of Australia's now defunct Bi-Lo. Yes. You can get 5kg bags of chicken drumsticks. And more types of frozen chips than I have ever seen in my life. Prices are considerably lower than competitors like Countdown. Plus, yet again we were left wondering why energy drinks are so expensive in Australia.
PS: please make sure you take a stroll through the perfectly preserved, attached shopping mall...
T.
Always a very pleasant shopping experience....
Aisles are well signposted for easier navigation of what products are in each one....
Pleasant and helpful staff around the store and at the checkouts...
Good selection of products and a good array of price range.....
On the whole savings made at Pac n save is comparatively better than it's major competitors.
M.
Not a lot of stock in store despite being told there would be no supply chain shortages. I feel for the staff especially in these trying times. Keep going your doing your best that u can. Much appreciated 💜💜
K.
Has most of what you need. Good international selection with a heavy lean towards Asian cuisine. Staff are very helpful, polite. Good layout of the shop & shelves are stocked during the day too, unlike Countdown Onehunga - bare for days!
M.
Since moving to Royal Oak this has now become my default weekly shopping spot. I find most of the items I need though still getting used to layout. Good parking and disability parking at prime spot.
M.
Some good low prices. Worth a visit for a full grocery shop. You can check their prices online for all your needs before you go!
E.
Great place to shop. Have you ever noticed that most helpful guy giving you trolleys just before you enter the store? Makes a whole lot of a difference to ones day.
A.
I ordered online for about $50 and one of the item was garlic naan. I was aware that if the item isn't available in the store, a replacement or refund of the money is provided. What I realised after coming home is that I got the replacement of two packs of "Cornados". I am wondering if Cornados is justifiable replacement for naan! I didn't expect that!
L.
Good place to grocery shop but choose your shopping times wisely because it can get very busy and cue times are long
R.
If you are looking for cheap supermarket, then pak and save would probably be the one. I am not very keen on the meat as I had a bad experience. Apart from that the rest of it has been good
K.
Not going to this branch quite often. It's rather small store. The trolleys are old and ofter damaged. However I was impressed by Tina today who was the checkout clerk. She wiped the trolley that she prepared for me. Well done Tina!
D.
Nice place
Heaps of Parking available
Items available at cheap price
IT'S Local so gud to support Kiwi Economy 😇
C.
Great store, helpful staff. Fruit & veggies fresh and great quality at reasonable cost. Good disabled parking too.
J.
not to bad .decent prices. lots of stock altho I wouldn't buy there hot food as it was very dry and I bought some chicken that was spoiled .no problem getting a refund
P.
Very well organized. The staff are very courteous. It has a well maintained bathroom. It foes not have a coffee counter.
J.
There was a bit of queue of customers but if you have young children, disability or older you will get to go ahead which is lovely and thoughtful
Great products also
S.
Been shopping here for years and will continue to do so. Amazing staff especially the ladies at the checkouts, you ladies do a fantastic job. Thank you. Had good conversations and banter. Thank you! :-) also, super helpful and nice. Fabulous customer service. Pak n Save Royal Oak is my favourite. Happily recommend to all. Great products, good specials and all round good price range as well.
R.
One of the busiest PaknSave in Auckland. Products hets sold fast. In turn fresh supply is always available. Maintained neat and clean.
A.
Very good quality products in this shop. Loved to shop from here.
L.
It good PAK'nSAVE but the customer service unfriendly by Indian women her name is Avtar she have very ugly attitude towards customer. She looks like she have a toothache.
S.
Good price on weekends and I love the coffee cake.
J.
A fairly large supermarket incorporated within a busy boutique shopping mall. Does not have self-service checkout facilities.
R.
Selection could be broader and could have more staff on the floor but otherwise a great shot
S.
I liked this store very much. I think it was because it is so big. Situated at 691 Manukau Road, Royal Oak, Auckland alongside the mall. So there is lots of parking available.
Very tidy and well set up. It was $5 week and most of the specials were 2 for $5. Really good deals and alot of the specials were just what I wanted. Everything was so fresh and clean and plentiful. Happy place happy staff happy shoppers the way it should be.
Lockdown doesn't seem to have affected this place at all. Well done management and staff. Check it out Peeps I give it a big👍!!!
K.
Great selection of frozen goods and hot sauces. Fresh produce can be a bit hit or miss but a great supermarket with many options none-the-less. There are also some really lovely ladies working the tills.
C.
I was shocked at the quality and variety available compared to other supermarkets. Much better.
J.
It's okay. A lot of variety. But fruit and veges are hardly ever the best of the crop and are quite expensive compared to less healthy options. I'm always surprised by how many options there are for really sugary foods and drinks, not a very healthy conscious place
c.
We came here for the wine. Not a great variety though. Strange set out.
C.
Went to pick up a click and collect order, the staff were lovely and very helpful
I.
A great deal of items are available with bargain all the way. Prices are very reasonable in comparison to other Pak n save stores. Got oil at bargain today, 2L/$4.79
D.
The security guy keeping the queue flowing is a star.
Polite and friendly.
The few people who behave like selfish A%£%holes and try to jump in are kept in check
Do these people think the rest of are standing outside for in excess of an hour doing so for fun.
I have no problem with older people and essential worker having prority. However it's good to note that they absolutely must show ID.
Well done.
E.
A bit light on selections on alternatives but other wise a good shopping experience
L.
Outstanding performance by your click and collect team. During a crisis, received email notifying my order will be late. Received alert few hours later as predicted by a member of your staff when order was ready. No hassles, absolutely brilliant!
A.
One of the biggest groceries store in the area. Best for weekly grocery shopping. Shop more save more.
C.
Always great customer services here :) In love with the Christmas decoration ❤️ Thank you!
S.
During covid, although there a long cues the wait time is very minimal. Good work by staff who also manage the cues inside. Good value for money. The wait is long outside but the wait at the checkout is shorter.
G.
Not my favorite p&s but sure is a busy place.
The check out girl was very friendly
W.
Superb supermarket with lots of good buys most of the time. Good fresh produce, affordable and always on stock.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Still a good place after all these years (May 2022 update).
V.
You can find some special Asian food in this Royal Oak Pak’nSave, and yummy fresh cream donut.
M.
Good customer service at Royal Oak.
Very clean and tidy
D.
Bakery is the best part of the shop. Shop is rather small and often out of stock with items that are common. Parking is limited and diabolically organised - you end up getting out of the shop straight in to vehicle's lane. Only shopping there because it is the closest, but experience at Sylvia Park shop is much better.
Update : finally à supermarket with wet wipes and désinfectant in the meat department, so when you get your meat, you can clean your hands without a worry that you might get some bacteria from handling raw meat. Well done Pak'n'Save Royal Oak. Hope other shops will follow this basic hygiene requirement.
S.
Huge selection of groceries, lots of aisles which can be confusing if you are in a hurry.
k.
You can buy all grocerry items from PakNSave.
Very competitive price, most economical of all
Nice friendly staff!
A.
Good grocery store but for some reason whenever we shop around 7pm or just after they only have half the tills operating which means we have to wait in line with at least 3-4 or more customers in front. It would help to have a few extra tills open when it’s busy. But otherwise staff are friendly and we do like this supermarket as it’s local.
R.
Love going to oak'nsave cheap and u get everything u want
R.
I usually shop at this store but lately the prices keep crawling up slowly without even noticing it. The essentials like Tip Top bread gone up from 2.99 on special just today it is 3.09 l will have to find other stores to shop l suppose
B.
good supermarket with great service and cheap prices, and VERY GOOD OUTSIDE See
N.
Cheaper groceries than most supermarkets. Undercover parking as well as outside parking. Staff are extremely helpful. Some stocks are low due to omicron creating staff and delivery problems.
P.
. Unfortunately as of late the vegetable and meat sections are often low on stock
C.
big sized Pak n Save
just like another Pak n Save, they have everything about groceries
G.
Have to go in for online order pickup.
On the other hand, they have spots available, which is more than can be said for some of the others. They also have chocolate log
A.
Royal Oak has a diverse range of products. Good wine selection. Fresh produce is well stocked. It is clean and tidy with plenty of staff. Check out is fast and efficient.
R.
The staff we interacted with were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient today. Handling being in level 4 very well and we had a positive shopping experience!
J.
One of my favourite Pak'nSave branches. Not too big yet not too small either. Carries all my fave shopping items. Plenty of parking and lots of other shops nearby if you need anything else. Clean and well organized. Staff nice and friendly.
C.
Not too bad very friendly staff and nice people to 😊
J.
The shop is clean and tidy but the fruits not fresh and not enough!!
S.
Good prices great staff a pleasure to shop at
c.
This is my local supermarket but am often frustrated at the lack of stock and empty shelves yet countdown has plenty of that particular item I am after at that time. I have queried staff who say they have different suppliers to that of countdown- not a good excuse. Tired of having to go between the two supermarkets for what I need. Ps this is all issues I have had prior to lockdown.
R.
It is an uncertain time for everyone. There are some people that are really nervous. The queing system works well and there was a gentleman with an orange jacket directing people and making sure there is a constant flow. It is not what he did, it is how he does it. He is kind and alert and well spoken with loud and clear directions. Well done, it is not easy dealing with the public when they are stressed out.
W.
Friendly staff. With security at the doors stopped a person from entering in the seniors and disabled side... She was being sneaky and trying to jump the queue. Great work to the security lady.
M.
It was packed and not everything I needed was on the shelf. The staff seemed to be putting stock out as fast as they could but there were so many customers there. Love the travelator to get your trolley down to the carpark to unload food
G.
Nearest pak to my house, not bad at all, love the ciabatta bread that they make here.
A.
Like the aisle of value, and do like the bigger packs of some items. Given the stock out of some items, they are doing well to keep stock levels up.
K.
Staff are really helpful prices and quality of products are 10/10
T.
Best supermarket around. Good value and fantastic range. Try to go off-peak and preferably in the morning as they do run out of stock later in the day.
D.
Royal Oak Pak&save is good for pricing as all its stores however do take into considerations there discount values are and can be items that are not good for day to day budget cooking recipes some are and then some are better off purchasing next food item of quality where you can spread the recipe more with its product Egypt. Bake beans 85 cents or the $1.00 if you are feeding 3 kids it's best to get the $1.00 oppose to the 85 cents as this one carries more sauce than beans same with the spaghetti food for thought you have to shop around and if salt (sodium) is a problem look at the sodium levels and saturated oils on the product cans these also can be surprising from purchase to budget pricing. ( health wise is a major factor in everyday peoples lived this may help in your understanding of product brand purchased you'll be surprised Eg. Bacon and bread selections )
If you are doing all the exercising and water intakes and Meds you are on maybe check your salt and fat intakes your choice when you purchase.
Isles are long spacious great however the signage and location can be confusing maybe a little bigger wording and systematic products in its groups rethought process maybe something to look into. Question why does the toiletry and bathroom products have to be in the end or bottom isle maybe it's not consumption but does that still have to be?? Maybe brain storming.
Last question when you know that certain times you will be consumed with customers why not accommodate open registers rather than only having 3 open and the self help Lane it can be annoying especially when you have a new person on less than 3 maths still learning not there fault maybe it's time for management to help in there rather than instructing others to come to the aid. This is right across food chains not just pak and save.
Plenty trolleys some needing upgrades and maintenance on them sqeeky wheels or wheels turning opposite direction.
Covid 19 requirements slowly diminishing hand gels and awareness not as evident as seen.?
Well the grade 3 is for a compilation of things seen while shopping it's a big store and has greater opportunity.
Customer service in and out of consistency in friendliness and assistance have a lot of staff available and on hand. Maybe smiles are a passing phase.? I hope not as 1 or 2 still can be seen doing the full customer service which is so great to see.
Organisation comes from the top not the people who works the floors they are trained from management hands on, to improve proficiency, service and spend with its foot traffic showing increase of satisfaction. My perspective may be different to yours but it's there as afterthought.
P.
Have you noticed how hard the team works here? Thumbs up for the great service
W.
Ok deal's
H.
Plenty of options for grocery shopping! Pricing of lowest even compared to the other competitors in the market. I’m a regular customer, my suggestion is this place doesn’t need a card for you’re discount! Walk-in to the store and come out happy with your savings!
K.
Great range of things. Lockdown is stink for all supermarkets with waiting lines etc but thought this place handled it well considering the situation
T.
Pak n save royal oak is busy supermarket with a wide range of fast moving consumables goods. The team are friendly and helpful how as the Pak N Save is part of the Royal oak shopping centre the parking is really average and they could look at improving the traffic management of the car park
S.
Nothing changed much, tidiest super market.
R.
Great selection and definitely cheaper than other supermarkets like countdown or new world
T.
Excellent Customer Service and Line control during this 2nd Lockdown.. Awesumly fabulous FRIENDLY STAFF.. Who are constantly Smiling Welcoming and Helpful in every way. THANKYOU to this WONDERFUL TEAM Is a Pleasure for Me to Shop at PnS ROYAL OAK
T.
Not my usual place for shopping. A long wait at checkout. Had all the Express lanes open and only three of the others. Very annoying as we were 5 and 6 deep with no other cashiers opening. The supervisor should have called for all cashiers to be on. This time of year there is heavy shopping going on.
H.
A reasonable range of products and good specials and promotion weeks. Staff are friendly and helpful.
A.
Regarding Tina Cheung: PAK’nSAVE is all about packing your own bags. You shouldn’t even take your bags into the stores anyways. If you wanted to spend less time in the store, why not pack at your car. What an entitled princess who don’t know their facts.
R.
Definitely one of the better Pak n saves. Has alot of international products but unfortunately they are spread out across the store instead of being in a dedicated international section. They do have Mexican Coke and Jarittos which is a big driver for me to go to this supermarket.
B.
Great selection on the whole (some brands and items are not stocked) prices are good particularly the specials they have weekly.. Can be busy at times making parking an issue but usually you'll find a space available. .. Remember to bring bags to take groceries home as bags are no longer provided, though you of coarse buy cloth or nylon bags...
H.
It's alright, it's a pretty average supermarket. Not well laid out in some places and a lot of people seem to just abandon their trolleys I'm the middle of an aisle and walk off. Always takes ages to get through the checkout. Cosmetics are expensive but generally the food is really well priced. Would and have been back.
R.
Very large supermarket and lots of grocery variety especially bakery and deli. There are no self checkouts. Good dedicated aisle for ease of shopping.
J.
When I needed assistance here I surely got it and more, the staff member who helped me find what I was looking was really helpful and friendly. I enjoyed shopping here and the sticky club card is handy while shopping here because the amount of specials there are is awesome. Just remember to bring your bags or you can just purchase new ones in store.
S.
Somethings are better priced here than other supermarkets. In this covid times things are getting more expensive across the board ...
S.
Being vegan staff always helpful to find things for me. Best supermarket in the country. Good deals on specials. Quality things. Cheerful staff.
Am very pleased and highly recommend my vegan friends n others to shop there. Thanks
A.
What can I say, competitive prices with a wide variety of goods and produce. Thanks goodness for Pak'nSAVE. Located in the Royal Oak mall with yummy eateries making grocery shopping a pleasant experience.
H.
A wide variety of brands and products, but the floor planning was not well thought out given how crowded it was at the time we went. Had to duck and dive around everyone!
Y.
Thank you for staying open and keeping thing stock up. However, I saw the other one at mt Albert is doing their trolleys sanitized every week. I wish you would do the same. It sounds much safer especially this time around.
r.
I enjoy going to pak n save. I shop there most of the time. Cost efficient and good service. I'd recommend it to anyone 😊
C.
Good place to shop for your groceries. I went to the supermarket again today 31 May 2020. I must add this in my review. There is a lady usher who usually stood outside the supermarket entrance. She is there to control the number of shoppers into the supermarket under present covid19 lockdown. She is always pleasant , smiling and wishes all shoppers coming in and out. Best customer service. The cashiers and the supervisor who approved purchases of alcoholic drinks are always pleasant. Great place to shop especially under preseny environment. Thanks
A.
Great prices, goods are well stocked staff are very friendly. Plenty of parking, suggest parking under the mall on warm days to keep car cool. Bakery could be better for the scale of the store and volume of shoppers. Limited supply of things like birthday cakes when stock sells out and Baker has clocked off. Trying to use less plastic bags but challenging given the nature of pack yourself style. Could this be a greater focus for the supermarket chain?
J.
It has more range in Ice cream, bakery items and other things.
ف.
Prices are good but why do we pay 10 cents for plastic shopping bags... please provide proper shopping bags for sale.
A.
Really impressed with PaknSave Royal Oak. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They were only letting people inside in batches so once we got into the store it was calm and easy to move around. And they let the elderly and fabulous go in first. Well done!!!
L.
Big portions. Fish & chips an fish burger were both amazing both good hoki fillets. Wasn't a fan of the chips cause half of it was soggy but other then that it was a satisfying meal
M.
Nice tidy and at right place. One of the biggest PaknSave in this area.
However comparing with Mount Albert, this is 4* in terms of product variety and service.
Fish can only be purchased precut here, no self checkout counter shared parking with other businesses.
Egg section is overcrowded which can be managed by other way.
A.
I have been in this Pack 'n Save for years. Not because it was particularly good, gee.. Fruit and vegie are a big nope, but Auckland food is not that good, and here you can find good deals quality / price. Recommend
紐.
Always low food price, the place for saving
P.
For reasonably priced groceries, reasonably well stocked and reasonably clean, this place is good (with the fish counter being a standout for range and cleanliness).
But you can often experience some fairly long checkout queues, so it doesn't pay to be in a rush...
P.
Great service during the lockdown. The forecourt reception is awesome (Give that lovely lady a promotion!) and the App really easy to use, and a elegant way to ensure contactless tracing of shoppers. The selection in store is great, but I really miss the opportunity to buy CalciYum Chocolate Milk! And the checkout team are still as friendly as usual.
J.
Nice shop busy as tho, good service so worth the wait
J.
Good shopping experience tonight at PaknSave Royal Oak. Savithri got out of her way to serve me when I was queueing several checkouts away. Thank you, Savithri.
B.
Great prices awesome choice!!! Best Pak n Save
C.
Got everything you need, especially some Asian food
A.
Like every other Pak'nSave , could be busy ,but for price, it worth ....the actually change around little bit, freezers for food, but overall they ok
B.
Tidy store. Friendly staff.
L.
Low stock especially pet food
L.
Good covid regulation, clean, everything in stock and well priced. Thanks team!
A.
In and out quickly. Getting all that I wanted
K.
Yep really liked this mall and this countdown too, fairly new but we like to do comparisons between countdown stores when we get the opportunity. Must go see the whole mall as well worth visiting
S.
Cheap groceries and clean super market.
Frozen stuff section has moved to side and we'll organized.
L.
Not to ducking fusty considering its only a P & S. They try their best with service at check out particularly when it's at busy times. Compared to Countdowns City efforts who often don't give a damn. Their selection of boutique beers and other exclusive items are commendable and the price is right on the basics. Well organised happy willing bunch of people work in the Royal Oak shop. Actually good value all round therefore don't mess about get in there and shop as they really cut the mustard.
N.
Umm, it's Pak'nSave so it has groceries. Staff are generally nice people...doesn't seem to carry quite the range as some other Pak'nSave's such as the Albany one.
r.
Really impressed with Pak N Save's performance during the lockdown. Yes, many items are not in stock which is frustrating and it is annoying they've reduced the store hours to 8pm, but these are extraordinary times and it's great to see the trolleys being cleaned, sanitiser at the entrance, screens at the counters etc and the text queue idea is great too. Huge thanks to all the staff for continuing to turn up for work every day despite the risks. :)
J.
Great place to shop. Found everything I needed and all well stocked. Aisle Signage is clear and very easy to shop your way around. Cheap prices and multi buys. Parking can get quite busy but plenty of parks around the vicinity.
B.
The regular store for me to visit. Prices always way sharper than the opposition supermarkets. Fruit and Vege section always way better quality too. Friendly helpful staff. And to the whingers of plastic bags I see on reviews, well, get a life. There are free boxes to pack your goods if you wish (they are recyclable, unlike the plastic bags) Store is always well stocked, clean and items easy to find. Deli & bakery has a decent range of foods too.
R.
This branch , unique in itself as are the other branches or franchises .. gives me the sense of feeling at ease and leisusely as I go about my shopping. Pricing is competitive, which I love and the staff are friendly and attentive.. Highly recommended.. thankyou
E.
Nice paknsave. I like the fact that they have a vegan week!! Things are easy to find, my only quarrel is that everything seemed to be moved one shelf down from where its price tag was placed, so if you wanted an item on the 2nd shelf the tag wouldn't be on the 2nd shelf, the tag would be directly above it on the 3rd shelf. Oh well, lovely people :)
B.
PAK'nSAVE royal oak is attached to a mall so convenient if you need to do other shopping but parking is always quite difficult even though the car park is a large one. It's our local so we always go there regardless and have worked out the best times for ease of parking. Often the best times are during work hours on weekdays and late evenings never weekends.
G.
Big store but a bit compacted. Good staff, friendly and nice! My checkout operator was brilliant, I think his name was Brian? He was quick, easy and made my day with small talks
S.
It's a good pack and save attached to a small semi empty mall. Loads of parking all around. Some is on a slant so watch those big heavy trollies. Good wine and beer selection. The delicatessen is Pretty small but Still has most of what you need. They also have a small International section so That's neat. There Is a Couple Of Funny Sighs dotted about so see if you can Spot em.
T.
Great price great shop
a.
They got my ginger cider
M.
Good range. Good staff. Their big failing is allowing standard lines to run out on the shelves, e.g. 3-pack small baked beans, smaller sizes of Tasty Cheese blocks, small facial pads etc
P.
Large like the other pns stores. Lots of variety. Hasn't changed a bit from when I used to frequent it about 4 years ago. It is always busy. The entry and exit layout. Although has worked over the years can be improved as you get out in the way of cars as soon as you exit eith your trolley of groceries. Dangerous for kids too. Otherwise great store to shop at. Bakeries etc right outside as well.
A.
While I like to shop at pack and save this supermarket isn't one of my favorites. Not sure why but... the staff are friendly enough but the shop feels tired and crowded. Carpark is usually very busy perhaps because it is shared with the mall.
J.
A Great Supermarket for me, that's why I go there nearly every single day, Thanks!:)))
M.
Lots of varieties and huge isles I have to get familiar where to locate certain items😊.
I enjoy the close proximity of Countdown to my place though yet every now and then I drop by PaknSave during my outs and whereabouts for a shopping or 2.
Recently with the Kiwi bank add reminding us how we should support local Kiwi businesses, it's kinda settle in too for PaknSave as well though love our Aussie brothers too!!!
j.
Lots of parking. Compared to other paknsaves in the area have a limited range due to the size. The set out of the store feels a little strange.
E.
Amazing! Such a huge store, and a ridiculous amount of meat options. Parking lot can get a bit hectic though
L.
Great supermarket mainly due to friendly checkout operators - always helpful. Butchery and seafood staff make an effort as well. Lots of parking has three carpark areas - two outdoors and one undercover. Bring your own bags as they do not supply.
C.
Nice place to shop - cheaper than "Countdown"
S.
Most diverse product line of any PnS I've visited in AKL.
w.
Have always been my first choice, love the people here and the shop layout is so perfect
g.
One of the best around friendly staff, spotlessly clean staff sweeping all the time
M.
To my great surprise their bakery items, specifically beef bourguignon and chicken in the same style are very nice, and low in price. I will buy these again. The chicken being the best
P.
Stopped for a bottle of milk on the way home from a job. It was late evening and I still had a long way to travel. Local shops would all be closed by the time I reached home turf. Anyway, this place was still open, so in I went, got my milk and couple of other items and was back on the road. I don't normally go near PaknSave...and I won't be changing that rule any time soon. Such drab, dreary stores, but useful at times.
J.
Great specials and deals. This is the go to
S.
Our local supermarket. Its neatly maintained, staff are good and it feels like always something happening here. Very handy all the way to newmarket in the north , green lane to the east, mangere to the south mt roskill to the west, people visit this place.
B.
Good place. Some prices were really good. Had a very friendly woman on the checkout. So good.
K.
Staff is Friendly and big supermarket

I like to see this one as pak'nsave junior. It is smaller in size, and indeed a little less variously stocked than the other mega big supermarkets as you pictured. However, you are likely to find the goods from different cultures here, especially when a festival or event is coming. Sometimes, you even get them cheaper.
M.
a karen got annoyed for me standing 1.5 metres away from her rather than 2 metres. it was uncalled for.
they ran out of tampax regular tampons and according to a lovely assisant, they would not be back in for three weeks.
no pizzas in the bread cabinet, but a nice donut.
no quilton toiletpaper???? unacceptable!!!!!
T.
Nice service, clean and tidy, but takes ages to make...long wait even when quiet.
C.
It was a pleasure to shop this morning at Pak'nSave Royal oak. Having a disability they allowed me to just walk in . The securities are so pleasant and very caring. Thank you guys. Much appreciated.
M.
Prices are good, like most PaknSave supermarkets but I don't shop here often (despite living in the area) unless I'm just doing a small shop and walking. Parking is a nightmare, the layout isn't the easiest and they hardly ever have much stock/ selection which means I often have to go elsewhere for other items. Service is a bit hit and miss, sometimes good, sometimes not. The best PaknSave is the Westgate one I think!
R.
4/5 simple as 'time for upgrade of store and product availability and variety' otherwise 5+ be my vote. Local shopper from the day 'PaknSave' opened its doors, my go to place, and definitely time to upgrade esp 'checkout self-service aisle' would be a bonus 😊
H.
It's hard to get in it was packed so I came home
C.
Quick and easy. Great Service.
A.
It's what you expect for a budget supermarket. Staff are occasionally awesome but overall fine, easy to navigate with nice wide aisles, good selection of most things I want especially booze.
D.
Huge variety of groceries, tidy store, and staff are very friendly!
s.
Nice wide aisles and friendly staff. Better selection of goods compared to Christchurch
L.
Good selection. Sadly it was quite chaotic the day I went (I don't normally shop here) which made me just want to get out quickly. Parking a real nightmare as have to share space with the mall
M.
There is plenty of parking and the checkout counter staff are ok. It is a fairly big for a supermarket and there are alot of groceries to choose from and it has it's own bakery section.
R.
This place is my go to shop.. One stop shop for weekly groceries. Price is fair. Staff is very friendly.. Hasmukh n Mahadeo are now on first name basis
A.
Feel like they have limited produce on selection at times, excellent wine/beer, but no international food selection like at some others. Generally super crowded between 9-6 and at weekends.
P.
All goods for a very reasonable price. Very fast checkout. Do all my groceries shopping from this place.
K.
Yep really liked this mall and this countdown too, fairly new but we like to do comparisons between countdown stores when we get the opportunity. Must go see the whole mall as well worth visiting
S.
Being vegan staff always helpful to find things for me. Best supermarket in the country. Good deals on specials. Quality things. Cheerful staff.
Am very pleased and highly recommend my vegan friends n others to shop there. Thanks
S.
Decent range. Very reasonable prices.
M.
Nice tidy and at right place. One of the biggest PaknSave in this area.
However comparing with Mount Albert, this is 4* in terms of product variety and service. …
A.
I have been in this Pack 'n Save for years. Not because it was particularly good, gee.. Fruit and vegie are a big nope, but Auckland food is not that good, and here you can find good deals quality / price. Recommend
Y.
Thank you for staying open and keeping thing stock up. However, I saw the other one at mt Albert is doing their trolleys sanitized every week. I wish you would do the same. It sounds much safer especially this time around.
j.
Lots of parking. Compared to other paknsaves in the area have a limited range due to the size. The set out of the store feels a little strange.
S.
Very busy store but great range of fresh products (sushi, bakery, meat,). 10/10
S.
Good Pak n save. Decent sized carpark that's shared with the mall. The biggest problem is the traffic during peak times. It's a very busy road with a 5 fingered round about nearby so traffic is always an issue
W.
We regularly frequent this particular branch. Meats and seafood is always fresh and well priced. Staff are very friendly compared to other PaknSaves. Well done Royal Oak team.
A.
Great selection of products! Very Convenient
S.
It's the festive season and it seems like most people have travelled out of Auckland so the shop is decongested and lots of parking space.
S.
One of the big supermarkets you want to make your groceries shopping. It is mostly cheaper than the rest big chain supermarket. Better to go on Sat than a Sun as the stock (hence the variety) is better
b.
Shopped here over the years, helpful staff, good signage, depends what time u go how busy it's going to be, checkout service with a smile 👍🏼👍🏼 only gripe is they've run out of Best foods mayonnaise 2 visit's in a row now 🤔🙄
L.
So many thing here. There are a lot of cheese and chocolate .. like it.
W.
Don't buy pineapples and any imported fruit from this pa and save unless they have a sample tray....I purchased pineapples and they were unripe and absolutely awful.....The worse part is that the pineapples have the tops cut off so there is no chance that you can check if they are ripe by pulling out a leave and see if it slips out easily. Also wrote to this shop to tell them about my experience with the green tasteless pineapple....they never had the good manners to reply....not impressive.
a day later i purchased one from Countdown Newmarket...and once again it was sour and unripe.
BUT countdown wrote back to me promptly took the pineapple back gave me a refund the following week and another pineapple which was sweet and ripe......WELL DONE COUNTDOWN....
NOT SO WELL DONE PAK N SAVE ROYAL OAK.
V.
Goor range, but Sundays are always busy and many items have sold out.
M.
Good, have alot of what i require, but maybe some more gluten free would be good
P.
All goods for a very reasonable price. Very fast checkout. Do all my groceries shopping from this place.
A.
Great place, lots of variety. Not much options of offal, but more than their Mt Albert store. Their staff also very good, gives you accurate location for the stuffs you're looking for.
A.
Very nice to shop in the store 💯
S.
It's OK. Not as well laid out, nor carrying as good a selection as other Pak'nSaves out there such as Sylvia Park or Westgate. Customer service is a bit hit & miss - some staff look very unhappy to be there!
S.
Very busy store but great range of fresh products (sushi, bakery, meat,). 10/10
s.
Top of the pops
100%
Love to shop at my favourite grocery store all the time.
K.
Fantastic range and fresh produce when in season shelves always stocked and staff are helpful
K.
It's Pak n Save, it's big yellow and reasonable value. Just be carefull getting in and out if the carpark the main road can be dangerous. Also often has packets of bacon bits for $2
B.
Pak N Save is definitely cheaper than the other two big supers - often by a significant amount. The staff at Royal Oak are friendly and helpful and the selection is pretty good, although there are a few gaps.
r.
Well stocked, good crowd control, a welcome change from my local.
R.
Good old pak n save...
w.
Well organised grocery with friendly staff..
s.
As compared to most other pak n save outlets this one is really expensive. I have been here only a few times but everything was way more expensive than the other stores. Also I wasn't impressed by the layout either. Very average.
u.
Good access. Ample parking space.
Can do better with more range and options.
J.
Pak 'n Save at Royal Oak have absolutely lovely staff. And the meat is so good. But if you want the best meat,go to the butcher window, and pick just what you want.
Royal Oak Pak'n Save sell the BEST back straps in Auckland. Anytime I cook them for friends, my friends think I'm a great cook. I'm really not. It's the quality of the back strap. Wonderful!!
Pak'n Save at Royal Oak make the best carrot cakes too. Yummy!🙂
The vegies are not always the best. But the staff in that department are really nice too.
Thanks Pak'n Save.
S.
Tonights(8:30pm) experience was poor. The lady on the 3rd checkout basically made no attempt to pack shopping into trolley neatly. Everything was scattered.
A.
All fresh fruit and vegetables with pleasing customer service, I'm assuredly returning next week.
A.
Only super market i have seen with the source place mentioned for each fresh produce. Others should also have that.
A.
One stop for all meats, comparatively small store, but get different varieties of curd
Awesome for yogurt lovers
I.
good supermarket, you can find almost everything. although during the day is the best time to buy fresh products, you will face the longer queues.
p.
Nice clean shop with friendly staff. Does mt have the product range of other supermarkets.
n.
Loved it... clean spacious and meets the demand with helpful staff
a.
Nice shopping 🛍 place can find anything very easy it’s inside the mall.
J.
This is a very great shopping mall. They have a very wide range of stock and everything is very cheap. If your looking to save some money when shopping then this is the place to go.
B.
Lately raising prices more than 10-15% on many products (water wipes, cheese, tuna...)
coca-cola limited options due to Pepsi taking over the shelf. Zero running out quite often.
I find annoying the change of product or brand for some products, you buy it, like it, but they don’t sell it anymore!
m.
It's a supermarket. Staff were OK. Got geed at in the parking lot buy a homeless person and pepole don't park very well. But the store was fine
R.
Very impressed about the cleanliness of the store. Prices in general have always been the most competitive.
H.
I have been shopping here for last 10 years. Best value for money. Friendly and helpful staff.
N.
This is one of the best PAK'NSAVE's around. Has great selection of gluten and dairy free products from cheese to yoghurt, bread and everything in between!
E.
Pretty good supermarket overall especially seafood but better for big shops due to long queues at checkout
C.
Carpark aight, main road sort of gets busy and can feel small but not bad, alright staff, got a bit of everything nearby too.
F.
Excellent supermarket. Would be 5 stars if they could keep the low price bread on the shelf
S.
Just choose & pay at counter. No need to weight your vegeis etc..can pay using credit card. Atm just outside & parking is plenty. They hv halal food. (Checked chicken in internet which brand to buy as no halal logo)Maggi spices, abc kicap & nando's per-peri sauce available. Also found samyang halal cup there 😊😊
R.
It had .99c week so it was good picking up cheap things, and the isle are wide enough for my trolley and people to go by
R.
You can find almost anything
C.
Don't go often as it's out of the way for me but it's got good viriety and their brisket cuts are really good compared to other chain supermarkets
J.
Hard to find a carpark due to the number of people there. And big queues of people at checkouts. Maybe the weekend is a bad time to visit there?
M.
Pak n' Save is a really awesome supermarket. The best in NZ.
G.
It not bad place to shop very clean maybe they could carry a bit more in range in certain products but otherwise it was ok staff with a smile is wat I look for as well as knowing where u can find stuff
G.
Lots of variety of products to choose from. Friendly staff. Nice environment. Stand out for me was the presence of hand sanitizer and wipe cloths.
R.
Big PaknSave, plenty of parking, three accessible entrances from the road, great range of items available, great produce section, very friendly & helpful staff & heaps of them, very good prices
H.
This would have to one of the best Pak n Saves around. Very clean. Different choices of meat etc.
V.
Very good
R.
A typical Pak n save supermarket good product range friendly staff plenty of parking good produce and bakery products the deli has a good range to choose from.
N.
Huge store with good selection and fair prices. We especially prefer the meat and fowl compared to Countdown.
K.
This my favorite shopping ground. Everything is available here and best of all, affordable prices. Heaps of parking.
C.
No queues at entrance or checkout.
Some items like flour not available due to Level 3 lockdown.
Friendly staff
W.
Large good parking limited range of frozen products within food groups. Poor range of low sugar fizzy drinks
L.
Okay shopping experience. Cheaper deals. Doesn't stock as much as other Pak n Save stores. Always seems difficult to find things.
a.
Very clean nice staff but was disappointed at the lack of selection for brands that are usually cheaper
L.
The products are displayed in a confusing way and there is no much variety. In the other hand it offers nice organic fruits and veges for a reasonable price.
a.
Big shopping mart.
Fair prices.
Good for grocery shopping.
Ample parking
J.
Great range of products 👍
Although it would be even better if they had some more of the lovely dates in the black box. Bring back the special 😉
l.
Fresh fruit veg, shelves packed with food, easy checkouts for 12 items, 25 items, lovely staff
G.
Hello
I am always very happy with the product range, the pricing and the service at Pak, N, Save at Royal Oak. I simply do not shop anywhere else.
Regards
Geoffrey Walker
J.
Pak n save is a budget NZ supermarket. It's fine, good range, fresh produce isn't the best quality. But it is good and cheap
C.
good value and has many choices it's becoming my favourite place to shop... great cashiers always greet you with a smile
g.
I drive here from out of the area to save money. I save a lot going here over my local supermarket. Staff are friendly and selection is good.
R.
My local supermarket..wouldn't continue to shop there if I wasn't happy with the service..Duty Manager Ebrahim (not sure of spelling) funniest, most helpful guy, its always a pleasure to run into him during my shop..
L.
Convenient place. Friendly staff. The supermarket is next to the shopping mall so it is very convenient to grab a quick meal if you hungry.
R.
Helpful staff. Organized shelfs, best prices...
K.
Can get busy but usually everything is in stock, store is clean and tidy
Q.
Clean. Helpful staff. Really inexpensive. I pass 4 other supermarkets to get to Pak n Sav. Definitely returning
J.
All the supervisors and managers are great! And there is undercover carpark and online shopping!! It's great service all around.
C.
Has the best fresh cream donuts!
B.
Nice place, but I prefer Massey's branch because they have better offers.
S.
Like all the other Pak N Save. Much cheaper than the New World or Countdown for the same range of products. Some ppl may argue for the quality but I dont find much of difference. Just paying more doesnt mean better quality. 😛
R.
It's always a great store to go into
D.
Great store for buying groceries at as good as price as anywhere.
Note though that 3pm on a Friday is peak traffic time ,inside and out.
O.
It was a good supermarket
S.
All the staff are so helpful and friendly. They have worked so hard to keep us safe during covid19. Thank you so much ❤️💕😊
G.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. Good range of alternative food options too.
M.
Nice supermarket with cheap prices.
V.
Absolutely wrong information about "live" time wait period- I have been here 40 mins whereas live time told me waiting is 15 mins !Current wait time as of 3.53pmis 2hrs. Whilst real time shows 15 mins
B.
Easy parking as there are two car parks available one on the front from Manukau Rd and the other one from Mt Albert Rd. Clean, fresh food, friendly staff.
S.
Good prices, good selection and nice staff including one very happy checkout operator who likes to serenade her customers and is never short on complements
S.
This supermarket is ok, but the layout is confusing. Also wish they had more gluten free options!
B.
My local , always stocked
G.
Always great service clean tidy plenty of car park always good specials always excellent service over the fish department section they clean scale and gut your fish in good time and with a smile
C.
It's our local. Good place to get a bargain.
W.
Can't believe they don't have self service checkouts as it would certainly cut down the time spent waiting to be served
B.
All you need from a supermarket. Far less chaotic than other Pak’n Saves and the produce quality is excellent.
S.
It’s a great store, fresh food and cheap prices. I am missing the seafood there during the Lockdown 😷!
I.
incredible initiative, now on the price tag of many of the products have information whether it is vegan, gluten free! amazing

S.
Good store. My first choice but there is less and less parking and open checkouts.
D.
Wow my mind is blown, exceptional range, huge store with everything I wanted and... some of the cheapest prices I've seen in Auckland.

Great shopping, but just a few things they don't carry.
M.
Doing their best under level four covid19 alert.
L.
There are always nice specialty items to buy from relishes to fresh meats at the deli.

Smaller store so less selection and items frequently are out of stock.
