Amazing ... a must visit on sunday. The way people mingle and have fun is inspiring and so much so you just don't feel like leaving. We circled this market 3 times that day and at every attempt spotted something new and interesting. Wonderful live solo music adorned the grounds, complemented by puppetiers performing and displaying their unique talents, makes you want to stay even longer. Fresh produce actually defines the word " fresh" and "organic" . I'm sure every visitor will catch something of interest. Happy visiting guys !
O.
Nice local market with lots of vegetables, fruits and baking
W.
Good bargains ! 3 for $5 broccoli , top&jeans fr op shop, quaint vase from op shop, amazing morello cherry pie $20, handmade wool cat $10 🤩🤩🤩
S.
Love this market! From antique, preloved clothes, handmade products to fresh fruits veges, market food & beautiful flowers!!! Even I live on the other side of the city, still come here occasionally for digging gems!! And enjoy lovely beach afterwards!!
a.
Beautiful market to be at,lots to eat and lots of things to look around for.friendly and spacious.
B.
Mix things you can find here every Sunday morning, rain or shine... not only food and food related items, even a watch repairman and cheap key duplication.
s.
Love it! Friendly service. Fresh fruit & veges at reasonable price. Delicious food with numerous variety to choose from.
D.
A reasonable sized market, lots of fruit, veg, and breads. Some tasty food stalls too. A few other private stalls selling honey, free range meats and eggs and the like, a few trinkets and used stalls too if that's your thing. Parking can be a pain but once you've been a few times you'll get to know the good spots.
T.
A lot of the original stall holders who were here for years have abandoned this market but they've been replaced by new vendors. It's still a great market with lots of good quality food stalls. It's an easy downhill walk to Takapuna Beach where the locals walk themselves and their dogs on Sunday mornings.
C.
I like this Sunday outdoor market for fresh fruits & veges. Simple, near to the inner city & lots to see & food stalls too!
J.
Great little market. Heaps of fresh produce and numerous food stalls from all the world. Good hardware and other choices with plenty of buskers to add to the Sunday morning atmosphere. Nice!
T.
One of the better markets in Auckland. Great bargains and good stuff: kids toys, jewellery, crockery sets, books, candles, food, fresh produce, massage - there's something for everyone. Great to take kids to as an early morning activity on Sunday.
R.
One of the best markets in Auckland. Always interesting stuff & yummy food. And so close to beautiful Takapuna Beach. A perfect Sunday morning outing.
C.
Great atmosphere. Love this market. Lots of different stalls. Delicious Food to eat. Fruit and veggies.
L.
Popular Sunday market, well attended despite the sunshine and showers.Good selection of fruit an veg, sweet treats, ethnic take away snacks and collectable items.Well worth a visit
J.
Awesome atmosphere, great range of products and a good time overall with lots of yum food
L.
This Sunday market got the best sausage hot dog!must try!
C.
A great local market, been going for years, fruit vegetables, flowers and nick nacks. Enjoy it while it lasts. Council developing the car park area. Visit it before it’s gone.
F.
It can get a bit sparse when the rain is out, but it's a great market, with a great selection of produce, cheese, breads, home made goods, honey, flowers, vintage collectables, and food stalls (not a complete list, but that's about the jist of it)
M.
There were not a lot of stalls today. Maybe because of the awful weather the day before.
Looking forward to coming back in the summer to experience the summer vibe.
H.
Great little market
E.
Great place, love it. Cheap key cutting and lovely people in the stalls. Baking there like grandma used to make.
J.
Awesome atmosphere, great range of products and a good time overall with lots of yum food
s.

N.
Really nice market, beautiful on a sunny day, bacon and egg sammies are great.
J.
Love the stalls! Shoutout to Uglys from Devonport for the amazing jams, curds, and marmalades!
W.
Had a great time with my friends here.
D.
Good places to go bit lack of parking.
S.
Lovely farm products. Great feed from different countries
L.
It's a great place to obtain fresh fruit & veges at a great price. Also found silk tops at less that retail price. Homemade soaps & essential oils. Lots of bric-a-brac.
It's a good idea to have breakfast somewhere close and attend the market early before the crowd builds when dogs on leads and twin pushchair make it more difficult to get around.
N.
Really nice market, beautiful on a sunny day, bacon and egg sammies are great.
H.
We have always loved this market. It's smaller now but still has our favourites, the watch battery guy, the Australian soap stall, the gorgeous Chinese couple selling fresh herbs and vegies. And the best quality Sri Lankan cinnamon (he was missing last Sunday 😢)
E.
Love these markets, most of the food places are there every week and then the other stalls change up a bit, coming into summer, more and more stalls are there. Great spot to walk around then walk along the beach
J.
Cool and nice ambience. It was busy but nicely busy and good stuff. Bought few things
J.
Love the stalls! Shoutout to Uglys from Devonport for the amazing jams, curds, and marmalades!
R.
It's a great place to go during the summer for a half day trip. There are enough little restaurants and cafes to find something to eat and there is a market sometime on the weekend in the car park. The beach is a short walk away.
If you are looking for parking an easy spot to park is the school towards the lake. It gets a bit impossible to find a park at peak times!
V.
A great market to stroll around, eclectic atmosphere, fabulous variety of culture, food, fresh seafood, veges, and collectables
P.
Great buzz. Lots of people. Some bargains to be had. Some trader's looking to offload dated stock. Some at a good price.
a.
On Sunday mornings and if it's a lovely day. We would go here as often as we could for our vegetables and meat. They have a delicious bacon place here and we absolutely love the taste. Guarantee we would buy a $5 or $10 pack to take home an order a sneaky $6 bacon an egg sandwich. Especially if we have guest over for breakfast this is our go to place . The vegetables are fresh and a lot cheaper then getting it at the supermarket which we live 5mins away from. I would also get a bottle of fresh juice, they have reusable bottles and if you reuse your bottle it's a little bit cheaper. Go reusable :) My partner would also buy his cookies here $2.50 you get 15 in a pack for his lunch or for the kids to have a snack on. He would also get a $1.50 can drink and a kebab for the kids at the caravan close to the bus stop.We would spend $30 and leave satisfied.
They also have a little park there so we would allow the kids to play. If your a seafood lover as well they sell middle fritters and whitebait fitters, there is also a truck that sells fresh fish :) please do go check it out
H.
Of was perfect for stuff we wer e looking for..so thumbs up
D.
Pretty neat market. Got lots of fruits and vege stalls, food stalls, live music, plenty of nick nacks clothes etc. Quite central being right in takapuna and parking isnt too bad if u go early enough and 5min walk to market
B.
Great vibe at the Market today.
If your visiting the North Shore over the holidays put this on your list. Great vendors with plenty of variety and bargains.
S.
I really enjoy walking around the various stalls. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, a very friendly place to be. Parking is free on a Sunday, but you may have a bit of a walk. We'll worth it though.
P.
Wide range of stuff, second hand stuff to artisan baking, sausages etc. Parking available in mall carpark, mostly cash, small number of vendors have eftpos, yummy food, the vegetarian butcher was probably the highlight for me. No sit down area to eat. Reasonable prices. No big wows, but definitely worth a visit
A.
Always good Sunday morning program. Good to see more and more fresh vegetables gazebos. You must go there when you hungry, as the market has multiple options to have a little bite or have a huge feed. Only one comment: this market is closing at 12. Which I think it's very early, for a Sunday market. Lot of the time we arrive just when the market is closing. Sure we are not the only ones. PLEASE EXTEND THE HOURS.
Keep up the good market.
M.
A fun market with good deals on fresh fruit and veges. Worth a visit if you are in the North Shore.
A.
Nice atmosphere, quality stalls, good variety and nice variety of food. Very enjoyable.
K.
I enjoy these markets. There is an 'apron' of small stalls on the street next door. These stalls expand what is on offer. I used to go for the bacon seller but I'm not sure if he's still there. If so his bacon and egg sandwich is very good value.
S.
Always heard about this market from one of my mates. I must say, this is definitely one of the best markets in Auckland. Very fresh fruits and vegetables. Lots of eateries to try various delicacies. The Falafel stall is the vest one. Got 30 little falafels for $10. They were awesome. But I must say, the gals at the money counter were little rude or may be were stressed. The French stall selling hot dogs were good too and the lady had great customer service skills. Would cone to this market again and would highly recommend! Cheers
P.
Everything you'd expect from a North Shore Market. Some interesting vendors alongside your fruit and veggies etc. Parking is pretty easy to come by. The market is pretty central and there are some amazing cafes near by. There is also a mall and a number of parks within walking distance which is great for the kids.
s.
I have sold something and bought something.
I have met nice people.
C.
Very nice place, has all the facilities required. Staff are nice enough and served me well. I especially enjoyed the flirty female working when i came in. I enjoyed the place thoroughly and the services provided. Im unsure however weather i would come here i was suffering from any variation of hepatitis the vibe of the place also felt specially threatening to hepatitis A. Im unsure weather they would allow you to bring in an animal however big it may be. I would like to emphasize that i strongly feel hep A is not welcomed here.
p.
I go there almost every week, best thing to do on a Sunday morning. Get fresh vegetables, juices, breads and food. The antique stalls also sell good stuff sometimes.
F.
Little more upbeat to the other markets but so awesome highly recomend mussel madness and their mussel paua & whitebait fritters top it with a runnie egg even better also the seafood chowder a must
S.
Great market. Beautiful food stalls, great variety & quality of fruits & vegetables including ethnic & organic. Friendly happy merchants, lots of cool stuff to purchase. Closes promptly at 12 noon
T.
More kids crafty stuff and a gluten free food place would be nice. There are some nice crystal and food stalls.
A.
Love to go there Sunday morning to have coffee, mussel fritter and cupcake.
Many young student trying sell product for school project.
Vege store has very fresh one.
Just love to be there.
b.
Markets are part of what makes a community truely great. People gather. Familiar faces smile. Food is shared. Livilihoods are made. It's hustle and it's bustle. However when merchants of greed and their minions at Auckland City Council look at piece of open space their eyes light up with $$ signs. Please let it not be so. Wake up people and fight. When the open space is gone it will be gone forever.
C.
Nicest Market I've seen so far in my 4 years in Auckland. Really very nice to visit.
S.
I go to Takapuna Markets about once every 8 weeks, while there I go for breakfast to. I drive all the way from Howick, which is a pleasant drive and doesnt take that long. Best market around I have been to in Auckland, it's big and has everything you need, fresh produce, flowers, soaps and lovely jams and chutneys, heaps of food and other stalls clothing, art etc. Going back this weekend.
J.
There are so many good regular stalls here. The bacon man, the avocado stall, the best pita bread, awesome hummus, cheeses, bagels the list goes on! Well worth a visit! I try to go every week.
P.
For a litte local market this place is great. The produce is always fresh and cheaper than the supermarkets. There's some really good stalls and a variety of street goods which are all very good. It's part of my Sunday morning routine.
P.
Love this market -such a pity the Akl City Council is going to shut it down to make room for a small 'town square' and apartments.
S.
I’ve been going to these markets for over 30 years. A great mixture of old and new, food and growers. Sadly I can no longer visit weekly, but always try to get back when in the city
S.
Decent range of things. Delicous hot, cinnamon donuts, and really yummy bacon sandwiches at the bacon seller. Lots of second-hand goods.
Be careful that the organic vege sellers are fresh. Our tomatoes were mouldy within a couple of days.
J.
Always a good market. Excellent selection of fruit and vege stalls, best avocados in Auckland, some great food vendors, and not to much junk being sold
m.
Every Sunday this is great markrt to visit. so much great produce so much great food. Lots of fresh fruit and veg on offer. Lots of cloths and electronic goods. One thing we like is the Turkish vendor gets close to the 11.30am tbty do a buy 1 get one free on all drips and hummus.... great vibe well worth visit.... free parking in shore city as well.
S.
The best market in Auckland for fresh vegetables ,fruits, bread and bakery products, flowers, international street food, free range eggs, cheese and others staff. Quality goods for good price.
A.
Good variety of food from different ethnicity. Thoroughly enjoy the Sunday morning stroll with coffee aroma surrounding you, the fresh bake bread, Turkey "pancakes", Vietnamese rice noodles, marvelous.
N.
I visited the market during winter, the best time to arrive is around 8.30am when the stalls are set up and before the crowd comes. Located at the car park area next to the bus station, and adjacent to the Burger King, a shopping mall, and streets lined with lively businesses, shops and restaurants. Prices are reasonable, fruits and veges can be cheaper and fresher than supermarket's. Plenty of breakfast, and steaming hot street food options. A number of stalls are run by Asians (e.g. Chinese), such as those selling groceries and food that are more suitable for Asian visitors. Other notable goods that can be found are e.g. honey products, clothes, body accessories, cosmetics, organic foodstuff, baked and fried foods, fresh fish and seafood, souvenirs and pre-loved knick knacks, flowers and potted plants, etc. Good vege stalls at the middle of the market, and a stall selling lots of fruits at cheap price near the cinema.
A.
Lots of tasty treats. More variety of stalks from collectibles, vegetables to books.
w.
"Churr my Taco" , best Taco go down and try, eat straight away, juicy, I had the beef & mushroom, salsa not spicy but refreshing
c.
Love these markets, easy to walk around compared to Otara and Avondale. Plenty of eat there options with coffee and fresh juice or smoothies bakery and fried foods. Lots of stalls with regular in season fruit and veggie. Plants, jewellery, possum fur, clothing odds and sods also on offer.
A.
Only down side to this Sunday institution is the lack of parking but you cant have everything. We went last week and a number of stalls were not there but I suppose as time goes they will come back. I look forward to it
R.
Quite a few stalls missing but vegetables really fresh
S.
Great selection of home made food and special nik nacs, one of my favourite markets.
E.
I love markets, but Takapuna Markets were just ok. It was a very busy market mostly full of tourists. While it did have quite a wide range of stuff, it didn't have a great selection of anything in particular. It had some ok produce but wasn't quite a farmer's market level. It had ok arts and craft but wasn't quite an arts and craft market. It had ok bric-a-brac stuff but wasn't quite a flea market. The surrounds are nice though, especially a walk down to the beach.
W.
Had a great time with my friends here.
C.
Love the ambience of the Sunday Market as well as the food and the assortment of knick knacks on offer.
G.
Good prices on fruit and veggies. Always nice to wander and take in the atmosphere. Be a shame to see them go thanks to the Council. A Sunday institution.
B.
Heaps of bargains for market hunters.stall holders get here very early.food bargains and friendly faces.right at the end of town by bus stops and shore city mall.
G.
I love this market. A real mix of fresh and prepared foods, clothes, plants, crystals and more!
S.
Luv the Taka Markets. Excellent for veggies and fruits but also cheap and good for replacing batteries of you watch or getting duplicates for keys. Topped with various delicious foods and great atmosphere.
D.
If you haven't seen this market then don't wait just reach out this place this sunday its amazing to get good products and real bargain
Y.
Lovely market...lots of items and mainly fresh vegs and fruits with reasonable prices...can go there every sunday.
0.
This is a small well spread out Sunday market which I visit on a time to time basis because I am partial to the spicy Thai sausages wrapped in bread with sauce. There are all types of brick a bracket and vegetables available. Fresh fish stall etc. 3 or 4 coffee vendors and Burger King is open...
The market can be found in the main carpark on the corner of Anzac St. and Lake Rd. Takapuna central.
E.
There were new stalls, a few vacant slots, it used to be full in summer. Still a very good market.
P.
Lovely place, right next to the park with a playground. Perfect for an outing on a Sunday morning. We come here regularly and always have "beef pho" from the Vietnamese food stall, "saigonz". It's so good. Love this place, hope it stays there forever.
N.
Really interesting and varied, local market. Brilliant food, produce, and plants on sale, plus pre-owned homewares. Wonder around and find a bargain or a special homemade or homegrown treat.
L.
Quite happy with what this market has to offer. There’s a variety of second hand stalls, small nz craft stalls, produce and food stalls.
Q.
Love to chill here.. The food is amazing... Chinese couple outside of market sell some amazing food.. I could find a good bye here every Sunday I visit the markets
D.
Good places to go bit lack of parking.
A.
Parking is a bit of a hassle, otherwise a nice place to get your veggies, fruit, berries, eat a bit of street food or drink some fresh juice and just around browsing. Takapuna Beach and cafes are right there also.
d.
It is not bad fruit and vegetable stools more organic products are appearing
D.
We're there 😉 Sparkling Blue Kombucha 🍺🍷🍹🍻 so come for a chat and a drink when you visit the market. The market itself is great, something for everyone. Whether you are after Ross for the
D.
Had great morning at Takapuna market looking at what's was for sale at different stalls brought a nice winter coat $25 , brought fruit & veg , brought beautiful crystal vase for $10 and enjoyed thai yummy lunch
I be back
m.
I very much enjoyed the diversity and overall friendliness of the market however I was appalled that a vendor was selling ivory, or what he claimed to be ivory, with inflated prices. STOP THIS PLEASE! He was across from the aromatherapy stall and selling various old Asian jewelry and fake greenstone necklaces.
J.
Great place to go, lots of stalls, heaps of food , some good stuff, some junk, but all good fun . Lots of people, parking can be difficult to find, however a walk theough the shopping centre is easy.
E.
You can found many things here and also it's a good place to have a walk. There you can find food, desserts, clothing, second hand stuff, paintings, flowers, etc. It's there only on sundays from 6am to 12pm. You need to park in the surroundings and walk to the market.
D.
Lots of great items, not so much fresh fruit and veges. Lots of ready to eat, good quality food. Plenty of options for honey and cheeses.
M.
Awesome to go to on Sundays. A bit hard to enjoy when it's raining though.
Lots to see, eat and buy.
Go at least once every few weeks.
C.
Very nice market, lovely range of flowers and affordable. They need to look at more food stores offering Eftpos payments.
A.
Great little market bustling with locals and families having a browse about on a Sunday morning. Nice variety of food stalls.
r.
Bought some over the shoulder fabric multipocket bags at a good price for gifts. Also some enormous Danish pastries
S.
Very cool market with lots of fresh, organic produce. We buy all our weekly vegetables here. Why get your stuff from the supermarket when you can get so much better stuff here?
s.
Excellent place, with lots of food stalls, clothing, accessories, meds etc
D.
Great spray free vege... bought 3 avos for $5... free range eggs... delicious French bakery... lovely flowers... lots of happy faces
Y.
Just nice... lots of goodies on offer. A feast for the eyes so many choices. Veggies and fruit to your hearts content. A tapestry of humanity! Lovely!
W.
Worth a saunter round and has improved with a few artisan food stalls and breakfast options. Not for the variety and quality of other markers such as Parnell or Matakana. Worth a look.
T.
A mixture between a flea market and a farmers market. A bit of everything for everyone but not too keen on all the cars just randomly everywhere. It makes it feel pretty not cared for. Good for a look around though.
B.
This market used to be one of the best.
Is it dying? I heard council are trying to fracas it up. Whenever I hear the word council I run for counsel.
S.
Lovely farm products. Great feed from different countries
A.
It's not the biggest Sunday market available in Auckland, but it's very diverse in its offerings (fruit & vege growers, food stalls, trinket peddlers, etc...) and another great thing is that there isn't chaos in the roads and parking.
J.
It great, great items available just not many food options
P.
Think urban fair meets farmers market. Less seasonal produce but delicious piping hot pies and knick-kacks you don't need.
J.
Great community market, loved the food and the people.
S.
Good range of veggies, bread and fruits and heaps of other stuff. Definitely worth a visit per week.
N.
Always great to go to you never know what treasures you can find. As well as getting your fruit n veg, you can also get your watch fixed and clothing etc etc.....

B.
Great mix of fruit and vege, secondhand stuff as well as arts and crafts. Great for a wander on a sunny day.
M.
Yummy dumplings, the pork bun caravan has delicious pork on a stick or chicken on a stick wit satay sauce.kids love the mini donut man..Mmmmmm!!they have a cheap keys cutter, and a cheap watch battery changer..the place can b very busy..but,cheaper fruit n vege then your local countdown..Recommended for those willing to spend, cause the 2nd hand brick a brac are close to the price of brand new.

Still going strong after .... years?!? Love the diversity of goods for sale. Best to have some cash available as not all dealers have eftpos.
H.
Only few can use EFTPOS card, mostly cash, products not really cheap, but many good restaurants and cafes around, a good stroll before lunch.
S.
Great markets, have plenty of vegetable vendors to choose from and delicious things to try dotted around the market... Great for a family morning outing
s.
