The presentation at the deli is absolutely eye pleasing. Everything looks fresh and has great presentation, I would definitely come back here again. So far the best presentable countdown iv come across

I like the new shop lay out, good work. I only use this supermarket for odd items as often passing. Find their special and card specials confusing. Also mixing special and non special items in the same bin/shelf deceptive.

Standard Countdown. Classic items you can find somewhere else but a bit more expensive, like any other Countdown. What it is good at, the imported food. Especially Italian pasta and tomato sauce. You can find good deals if you have the One Card. Also the meat is above local standards. Overall fine, you just need to know what you are after.

Always so efficient with online ordering/click & collect, now made super easy with the new pick up location.

This countdown is super clean and well organised. Would be nice if they had more salad selection.

Prices seem more expensive than pak n save riccarton but the food seems fresher. Not many staff on the shop floor to get assistance, but there is a pharmacy in store. I think I'll stick with pak n save, but I can see why someone might favour this countdown

I ran in there to grab a few items. It was fast and easy to find d the items and get out fast. Used self checkout and got some bricks 😁

Polite staff, clean supermarket, well stocked. I generally shop here when I need some Chinese groceries and takeout as well because it’s bang opposite to those so I finish all my shopping in one go.

Your standard shopping experience, some new items to check out, less of a deli/bakery than freshchoice or New World but is currently under remodeling so has opportunity to improve.

Nice and clean, well laid out and with a good range. I found the staff to be helpful and parking was easy.

I always pre-order holiday groceries here when in town as service is excellent every time.

Shelves were a bit empty, but the checkout operator was absolutely fantastic!

Lots of Parking spaces. Not busy. Good customer service but careful sometimes they might have updated the discount prices. Once it happened to me the hadn’t changed the price of coconut. When it comes to price for goods, Stay middle compared to other supermarket.

Under level 4 restrictions I was still able to shop easily and was able to get what I wanted. Shelves were not empty! Very well organized under the circumstances

27th Feb 2022 - the store has been updated and the interior is now much modern and contemporary feel of it. The aisles are now wider and easier to move around with trolleys. There is a dedicated pick up collection area with carparks. Would I go back? Yes. August 2020 - Plenty of parking spaces and is handy for me to do my grocery shopping at one location. Good selections of products. The male pharmacy staff did not show interest in serving the customers.

The place is large, well stocked and with a great range. I love their One Card deals.

Great fresh breads. The Underground car park is excellent on a wet day.

Great range and great staff, but a few months ago I was picking up a package labled "urgent medical supplies" as it wasn't successfully delivered to my home. The person at the desk would not stop asking what it was cos apparently everyone there was curious what it was. They asked about 4 times through the entire transaction which really made me mad. I felt like my privacy was being invaded and the staff on the other side of the counter kept looking at me while tending to other customers. It really put me off...

This store has recently been through a re furb and is very nice.

Nice store, well space Isles, friendly Staff. Entrance and exit onto Hanson Lane can get a bit tricky if many cars in or out. Has underground parking.

Uplifting Click and Collect order. Very straight forward, courteous staff.

Their pharmacy is always slow and weirdly understocked. I can never get my full scrips here. Everything else is fine though. I appreciate that they have seating for prescription customers, and also customer toilets at the front.

Thr biggest countdown I have ever been in!! A bit daunting at first as it is very large and I didn't know my way around but great selection anf range, same great countdown prices and service. Very busy roads surround this place so best to go in an off peak traffic hour if possible.

Storing the paper towels in the freezer department, under the chili sauce, is a bold move. Only took me 8 minutes to find them.

It is an organize shop which makes items easily to locate with.The area was huge enough and consumers can easily move around even with trolleys.

Had an issue in the store today and reported it to the duty manager Chetna at approx 1pm. I cannot express just how impressed I was with Chetna's sincerity, and professionalism as she assisted me and offered me compensation. I will be returning as a direct result of Chetna's professional service. Had it not been for how she handled that, I would never have returned. She is an asset to that business and I hope her superiors see this, and acknowledge her in appropriate ways. Thank you Chetna (I really hope I have the correct spelling for your name)

Shop at church cnr countdown ìf I'm passing and need a groceries topup.

Wow .although I always try to shop at countdown I haven't been to this branch much, only 2 occasions I can recall andn1 of those was helping a friend shop...its literally a 1 stop shop for almost anything..the variety and stock levels are hugely impressive..but a little bit overwhelming if you are there for the 1st or 2nd time..so much to see!!!

A good store, some of the staff are lovely however there are others that are simply snobbish and refuse to help, which seems to be a common occurrence with CountDown stores. :-( The store itself has a great selection and a nice and tidy layout that is very easy to understand.

Very busy, line out side, once inside good experience

Everything is easy to find, there's always a carpark, specials all the time, i worked there myself at nights doing relay in 2019, all the staff I've worked with and come across are friendly, awesome, non judgemental and always eager to help with anything.

The countdown that have the most verity of product, highly recommended

It's a countdown. Not to much more to say. Staff is friendly and helpful, when asked. Otherwise it's a fairly standard grocery store. The rotisserie chickens are great in a pinch.

A nice clean supermarket but with not very friendly

Good range of products at reasonable prices. Sometimes products on special need to be restocked more often. Fruit and vege need to watch quality but not as bad as some supermarkets

Avoid this store during covid-19 level 2 as they only allow customers to enter through the underground carpark entrance. Since there are no restrictions on customer movements while in the store, having a separate entry and exit serves no purpose other than to annoy customers. There is also no footpath to access the underground entry from the ground level entrance so it is necessary to walk directly in the path of vehicles.

I went grocery shopping last night, I usually go to another supermarket so this was a bit different. The deli was unattended and it took 2 minutes before I was served and their was pallets in the middle of the aisles and it was only 8.30pm. Everything else was fine.

On top of keeping their sanitisation station out front of the entrance tidy & stocked well. Kind & friendly staff at both the store & the pharmacy.

They r the only place around Riccarton to go after 10pm. That is so important and appreciated. One day I badly found the importance of that when all other supermarkets were closed by 10pm

This countdown has one of the luckiest lotto outlet in the south island so I am told no it dose. Also the staff here are real cool some of them have work there for years nice people.like most countdowns we have a clean and well laid out shop. This supermarket has particularly good accessibility. In addition to the outside car park, there is a large parking garage underneath the store. There is also plenty of special-access parking, such as for people with disabilities or families with small children. The store has the usual good range of products.

Nothing special here. Things are costly specially vegetables and fruits. I would suggest to go Asian Market (50 m away) if you are looking for vegetables and fruits. I go in emergency because its near to my place. Eough parking space with no time limit (not sure).

Countdown Church corner has late night access, which has always been great in terms of being able to pick up those things you forget about at 10pm.. They have been through a number of building alterations recently, but overall for best selection I always head to Countdown. They always have those extra few spices or brands of tea/coffee that you can't get at other supermarkets

Good quick shopping near by

Always a good shopping experience. I'm not a fan on the pharmacy inside. Not very friendly service but I understand it's independent from Countdown. Other than that, good quality food. Average prices and friendly staff

Nicely laid out store, really like how you can bypass fresh foods and go directly to dry goods.

this branch operates till very late. There has pharmercy in it. Big grocery store with pretty much things you need in daiky life. Cashiers are friendly and helpful in most of the time. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS FUNNY. most of the grocery store employees are fake smile masters, well in this store people are so REAL. You can tell how they feel about someone rushing in the store at 10 at night. Nothing to complain --, I just telling the unique part of this store.

I've been using it fot online shopping. The past two weeks the orders have been a bit odd. This week was substitutions without acknowledging they had been changed... but at least it was all there. Last week I got a 6 pack of yogurts and a natural yoghurt that went on my list. So it's certainly not that they've not given me the products 😁

Good supermarket, nice and big. You can do a quick shop or full your cupboards.

Had the best experience I've ever had at any Countdown... A great interchange with two staff members Jenny and Suzy. We were only visiting Chch otherwise we'd make it our supermarket of choice.

The car parking is good both underground and on the black top .stocks most things you would need meats, fruit and vegetables and dry goods plus a little hardware and kitchen wear along with beers and wine

Very slow packing and not enough people on the tills. Small selection in the fresh meat,poultry and fish areas and also trolleys lying all over the place in the car park.

Large parking space (part of it covered), wheel chair access from both car parks, have an in-house pharmacy

Best busker sits on the keyboard with his guide dog in the foyer. Supermarket is a good size, not too busy. Parking on the slight slope makes people park at weird angles.

I shop at countdown regularly when I,m in church corner the staff there are polite & smile lots plus they have know issue pointing you in the right direction if you cannot find what you are looking for i recommend countdown church corner

Some of the prices were missing on shelving. Also a product on the shelf was different to the advertised product special.

Very big and have a lot of choice, the price is cheap as well. It opens until midnight on most days. There are a lot of Asian supermarkets nearby though, not sure if the Asian supermarkets have lower prices as they are already closed when we visited.

This particular countdown is a cool one because it has 1) Indian paneer that you hardly find in a supermarket and 2) wicked sister's puding. Man its the most delicious puding from a supermarket

One of the biggest supermarkets in the city with low prices You can find whatever you need here The prices are a bit higher than packnsave but it is still reasonable.

The fruits here are cheaper and they're really fresh! Thankful for BYO options at the seafood counter.

overall is great except from the lighting in the store, it so dark and i had looked the high bay light around the store over 20s of them are not working at all.!!

Love my old haunt still. I moved to Sydenham and was sooo disappointed with my local C.D. I came back to do shopping for a sick person today still excellent service and the store is beautiful.

Great experience so far, only found out today that some special prices may not be registered. They were helpful when I noticed it and was the first time I saw it, but maybe an good focus point.

I absolutely love my countdown church corner in upper Riccarton I have 2 other large shops within 2mins but my favorite is countdown church corner easy parking and service is great and helpful been with them 4 about 15 years no bull xxxx😅😅😎😎🤣🤣😇😇 .

It did take abit of time to find what I was looking for but once I did everything was all good and the self service was a breeze .
