г.So far, this is the most organized, clean and beat countdown in Christchurch that i’ve been too. I really enjoyed getting my grocery here. The vegetables and fruits too are well presented. Lots of parking spaces too. The staff are nice. Keep up the good work. ☺️
M.Good place to shop. Was some mouldy bread on the shelves which wasn't great but it was after a public holiday so assume that's why. They have a good range of health foods and options for different diets.
D.Items are often out of stock for long periods - no gluten free flour for at least 2 weeks and have to keep going to Eastgate Countdown who have plenty of stock. Also been buying apples here and 2 out of 3 are bad inside. They need better stock control and quality control.
D.Good store. Witnessed the management helping people in ways I thought were a thing of the past. So awesome to see a rare sight of people actually caring and not just saying they care. Well done countdown ferrymead. It's all about people especially the elderly.

S.Not the biggest fan, staff not overly helpful and not keen on layout although most countdown's have similar outlaying this never feels right and lighting is not great. It's ok for a quick in and out to grab something.

M.Okay, but I do prefer Newworld, I have found them to be cheaper even though their TV advertising says different. I know what buy and have proven it several times.

L.Well its the first time I have been there and i must say it's the best looking countdown I have seen, really inviting as u walk through the door even though every countdown has fruit and vege at their front entrance. I noticed that u had hygiene aisle right next to fruit and vege. That was different. Well done I really enjoyed the experience

W.A typical large Countdown, good selection and fast checkout. I only wish I could get some higher quality meat cuts I buy from other stores... If Countdown had those I'd do all my shopping here.

S.This supermarket has an excellent selection of wines and beers. There are always great sales on so you’ll definitely find a great drop. The deli and bakery have fresh and wonderful foods perfect for grabbing on the way to a BBQ or dinner party. The meat is high quality and so are the fruit and vegetables. The layout of the supermarket is clean, well lit and spacious. The staff are always friendly and they manage the queues at busy times well. Parking is an ease.

A.Great local shop but would like to see the elderly/disabled use their disabled spaces as I've been a few times where these customers and regular able bodied customers have used the pram parking when I've needed it for my 3 month old. I'd like to see more initiative on accessibility for everyone.

J.One of the best Countdown Franchises in Christchurch. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, it's always busy when I seem to shop here but the queues are always swift and fast. Depends of the week but most of the time they're usually some awesome specials. If I'm ever in need of help and I ask staff who are working in restocking shelves, they're always super helpful and willing to direct me in the right direction. Overall an awesome grocery store.

B.If you are trying to lose weight and still want to eat sourdough this is the place to get a loaf from, with a ratio of 70/30 bread to air you are almost guaranteed to hit your weight loss goals. On the other hand if you workout hard and eat clean all week then aim to demolish an entire (cavity free) loaf over the weekend as a treat, unfortunately this is not the place for you.
But overall it is a really good supermarket.

E.The very helpful customer service/self- scan gentleman assisted me with a pricing problem this morning. He then had to deal with what could only be described as a rude, abnoxious woman, who decided to make a scene as she felt it beneath her to use the self-scan checkout - one person was polite and respectful, and it wasn't the customer! No-one should treat staff like that, ever! Well done sir, you deserve a medal! 🏅
M.Good parking. Has bargains for observant. Friendly staff. Reasonable selection, better than some.
Operatively, Countdown, as an Australian owned and overseen business does not necessarily conduct its business with New Zealander's in mind. That is to say, overall, Countdown is often selling items at prices which are considerably inflated. For example, whole rolled oats regularly sell for $5.00 - Harrows. However, New World and Pak'nSave both offer a similar quality product for less than $3.00. While Countdown does market itself as value for money, in truth it pays to compare prices. Likely, this public statement is less accurate than you may think. Candidly, I was shocked to discover, comparatively, just how often Countdown were markedly more expensive that the other two competing supermarket outlets.
K.It's my local supermarket well set out and pleasant staff
T.The reason for 4 stars is the great range of gluten free and dairy free products. I haven't found another supermarket with such a wide range of these things.

L.I bought mini pancakes and a wild Berry water, tbh I don't know why they still hire checkout people. Just use the self checkouts, I think I'm pretty quick but they wont hire me... Probably because I do it so fast they don't want me hussing through custys. Its fine but I do wish they had a 13 way express way as I find when I go to fresh choice they limit you to 12 items and frankly I always get 13 because I have this condition that makes me feel pain when I do anything that doesn't add up to 13. It's bezare because 14 is my favorite number. That hurt you see? I give 5/5 service because no one served me but I still lost money and got my items.
A.Found a bunch of stuff I cant find anywhere else like reese's ice cream and really cheap bags of russian fudge! The guy who served us was SO nice and helped us find a perfect $10 note because it was a birthday present for our niece which was awesome.

r.This proberly is the best Countdown in christchurch. It's a massive store with fantastic range. Their produce is beautiful and meat a good price also the deli is very clean and good range. Staff are quite friendly all in all a great Super.
