M.A good supermarket located in the Northwood shopping center. It has all of the things that modern supermarkets should have. Car parking is challenging at times when its busy because you need eyes everywhere. Take care here.
Like all supermarkets these days it's clean, tidy and mostly well stocked.
L. R.It's an average countdown. Staff aren't very friendly, and seem annoyed by customers existence. Though then again it's something I have just become accustomed to with any Countdown. 🤷♀️
W. W.It's a bit small? Or packed? Sort of feels like an old fresh choice. Standard...not a great selection in seafood or deli
S. T.Run in here to grab the awesome Italian made HB pizzas ... and soy cream ... usually quiet so easy to get in and out fast 🙂

L. A.Visit 1) Typical Countdown. Good size shop. I find the isles very narrow and every so often there's a post in the way. Staff helpful and friendly though.
Visit 2) Took my daughter and grandaughter grocery shopping as closest grocery shop to her. My daughter had to pay on a WINZ card. She tried it 3 times and the card declined all 3 times. She rang WINZ the following day to see what the issue was. There was no issue, the card should have worked. So I took my daughter again the following night to New World. My daughter took 3 items to the counter to pay and the card worked straight away. So, she did her shopping there. There were other customers behind her at Countdown and it made my daughter feel so small. I could see in the car my daughter and grandaughter at the counter and felt terrible for them as it wasn't descrete. I travel from Kaiapoi, I planned one trip but had to do two. Maybe some staff training might be a help in this area.

C. T.Surprisingly easy to get around, everyone was very respectful of social distancing, had everything I needed.
D. M.Clean, well lit and set out the same as all Countdown stores, so easy to find what I needed. Northwood shops not under cover and it is not always possible to get a close park to where you want to go so this could be a problem in winter.
K. I.Yeah it’s fine, no self check out which sucks, also not the biggest supermarket so it doesn’t have the best range of foodstuffs
J. K.I only parked outside of countdown. It looked pretty good from the outside. I am sure you can buy all the things from Northwood Countdown that you can get from all the other Countdowns.
C. P.Wide aisles, so distancing from others is made easy. I really appreciate the hard working staff fronting up to keep us feed n watered through these difficult times. Hannah on the checkout though you need to learn to say 'please ' & 'thankyou'. This effects the store's rating

M. D.The staff are salt of the earth but shop doesn't have the largest variety, I guess due to size. A little tired looking but it serves a tonne of people. The 2 unused checkouts could make 6 great self-service units & speed up the sometimes wait!

M. B.I find shopping here like other Countdowns easy, it is well signposted and the objects I require easily found. The shelves and aisles are not crammed nor too narrow that pushing a trolley is easy and no collisions or running into other objects hinders my progress around this store. Also the items I seek are easily found.
The service at the counter is another plus. Pleasant and supportive.

No self check-out available over here. No pharmacy in store. No chiller room for liquor. Thats about it.

B. W. (.Most countdowns are like this now, overly crowded and stressful. There never seems to be enough checkers or space to navigate the isles. But, I usually get the shopping finished.
