Reviews of Bin Inn Dunedin
A.Great for people who want to fight waste and not pay a fortune on it. So no excuses any more for people who say sustainable shopping is only to the rich ones. Only thing bothering me is that many items are often out of stock OR just not filled up in the store while they have more in the back (so you always need to ask), and that was already the case before COVID. Could do better work checking for empty items and re-filling and maybe on ordering (hard to tell, I guess they do not always get promptly what they re-order). Some more organic and fair-trade options would be nice. I always tell myself non-organic, unpackaged items are about equally sustainable as plastic-packaged organic items from the supermarket, but ideally I want to have it all: fair-trade, organic, unpackaged.
R.Good variety and prices. Quite often out of stock of certain items.
UPDATE: Visited for the first time in a number of months. Variety and prices still good but literally every item I went in for (4 in total) were out of stock.

C.I like shopping here. You can take your own containers. Staff very helpful. Besides getting goods for cooking they have lollies from overseas. I especially like the Dutch licorice and get the salty version for my friend. The have ginger lollies for people who are unwell or just love ginger. Love to browse the shelves.

M.Prices are better compared to Nature Taste in some items. It is nice that one has the option of bringing their own container to out the products being purchased. Make sure to bring the containers in the counter so that they can weigh it and then subtract its weight from the final price. Ecologically sustainable practice. I shop at least twice a month in here.

I would love see a stronger emphasis on plastic free shopping....the plastic bags are right beside the binned products and you have to go out of your way to find the paper bags (at least they are there though!)....any changes that reduce/eliminate plastic encourages me to shop with you.
