C.First time visiting the new shop; it looked clean & visibly felt easy to navigate around. The layout felt familiar - must've been because we've shopped in a similar layout to other shops around the country; noticeably with a chemist dispensary in the heart of the shop too. Loved, there were different options available in comparison to other supermarket. Well done Countdown Hastings!
M.Nice and new. Stock of certain products seem to be an on going issue. It cost me a visit to another supermarket. Frustrating.
G.Brand new store, set up nicely with your daily essentials around the outside aisles, i.e. fruit & veg, lunch meats & dairy produce, breads and toilet paper. Well stocked and even has a pharmacy, this however does not have the same trading hours as the store.
A.Nice new building and as always has a good selection of grocery products and produce.
L.They even had mask for anyone who forgot or didn't have one available and gloves ..hand sanitizer.. last time I went I was busting to go loo. Nice and clean toilets. Best so far out of a the countdown toilets. Quite a nice supermarket too. Things looked very flash. The kind of standard you see in the new New Worlds.

d.Great deli. Great service. Pre-made chicken rolls and samosas were delicious.
R.Great new store. Bright and airy. But milk and bread a long walk to the far corner of the store so easier to get those staples at the corner dairy. But checkout could be improved. Bit disconcerting having 2 other shoppers put through while I was packing mine. Think I missed out on an item which ended up in a following shopper's pile of groceries.
d.Went inside the New Countdown and it's layout is awesome, nice light and clean!!!!!!! Was a pleasure to shop there

p.The new supermarket is amazing. Prices fairly decent to a wee bit on the expensive side. Pak n Save still have the edge I feel when it comes to savings.

M.We always go here for my daughter's needs as they have deals all the time for nappies. Also, kids have to get a free fruit at the entrance so it's a good distraction technique for mother's like me to keep my little one preoccupied whilst I'm doing the shopping. There are many $1 or $2 munchies to choose from to fuel up our snack times!

M.Always a pleasure to shop here, clean and tidy and often well stocked. Isles are a little narrow compared to other stores but other customers are friendly and courteous. Checkout can be a little slow, there are six self checkout scanners but often not all are working. Pricing is fair and competes well with other stores.
M.Mislabeled products and even after asking both in-store and their call centre several times. I'm still no closer to finding out any more details about the product

C.I went through the checkout and had gone over my budget, I had to decide what I was going to put back and the very kind lady behind the checkout told me it's ok and she would pay for the remainder items. I cried because I was really struggling and I got home and rung countdown and spoke to the employee who answered the phone, I told her the lady's name that helped me and I asked that they really acknowledge her for what she did. I was truly grateful and blessed. I look forward to paying it forward to another person in need. What an inspirational person. God bless her.

B.I like Countdown... Its easy to find what you want and I've always managed to get through either checkout or self serve without having to stand in long ques.
Also there's never ever a problem finding a car park which is a plus 👍😊
G.Starting to we have to change supermarkets. For months there frozen foods are going down hill soon they won't have any thing in them. Also sick of not having the things I want. They also advertise specials but don't have in stock.. Not sold out just don't have them. I rated Countdown as excellent but now I would not rate they have become a very big let down.
M.The supermarket is good, but someone needs to work on the traffic management plan. When entering or exiting via the rear, drivers have to drive on the right (which is unnatural in a left driving country and likely to cause accidents).
1.A typical Countdown with accompanying dour staff who mostly look like they wish they were elsewhere. prices are moderate as is the selection of goods. fresh goods are a bit average but passable. not a big range of more unusual foods. overall store is tidy and presentable, not looking too tired yet.
D.I moved to Hastings recently and today I went to this supermarket for the first time, wonderful staff, full shelves (well nearly). As a Gold Card holder I was taken to the front of the queue, I can’t speak highly enough of this store and it will be where I do my shopping from now on. Thank you Countdown Hastings.

B.Granny smith apples clearly marked $4.50 for a bag on special, rang up as $6. Something, I alerted the checkout guy, he was so unintested, so when he wanted my money I said it again and asked for a price check.. the superviser came over and changed the price straight away.which tells me, I wasn't the first today....

K.I liked going shopping here until one time this security guy followed us throughout the whole shop. Made me stop going as I have always been a loyal customer. Went back and haven't seen him since.

Z.Got a few items on sale, good discounts. Want to note their deli staff- always polite and friendly, make you feel very welcomed. In contrast check out area is usually different experience. Busy, 2-3 staff members just chatting to each other instead of opening another check out point.

R.Ample parking with good access, full range of products. The store is spacious and easy to navigate. The checkout experience feels a little cramped, but on the up-side there always appear to be a good number of staff on hand to man the tills.
A.Sadly I've found Countdown in Hastings to be a mixed bag. Some of the staff are amazing, and others are downright rude, disinterested, and on one occasion, obstructive, to the point where I stopped going there for almost a year.
The car park entrance on either side is quite dangerous to navigate in and out of, as traffic is busy and congested, so take care.
I do think the management have made some improvements, as these days the staff are better mannered, but they're always running out of cheap bread, and choices are limited across the board.
Meat packs are not good value, but they do have a good selection of beauty products, and cheaper brands of tomatoes, beans, spices and things like that, and they're pretty nice too.
Hope Countdown manage to stay a float, as they are close to hand, and could do well if they up their game.

T.Huge range of products & brands to choose from. Pricing varies from cheap affordable items to more expensive/ gourmet items. Meat never looks appealing - maybe it's the lighting?
One card specials can be deceiving to customers - ticket says a cheap price but only if you scan a one card . Which not everyone has if they are just calling in as a one off shop.
R.Countdown is respectful I like how they are on to it this is my only shop I shop at to get all my shopping done here. I always get my cat food whiskas coffee milk sugar bread as they are only $1.00 for bread. I recommend shopping at countdown Hastings they always have low prices if you have a one card you use it and that will give you points
J.I got a notification asking for human help about this store... it engages in humanitarian activities regularly. It shows signs of being conscientious. Although it can be hard sometimes, I can point to anyone there and tell you something about them I like.

H.With very spacious parking area and stringent health and safety measures during the covid lockdown. Prices are reasonable and stocks are always dependable.
M.I like the idea of children entering the shop and seeing a sign say free fruit for children.
It's another way of encouraging children to have healthy food. Some good price on mince and chicken and sometimes lamb leg when on special.
R.I usually go to Countdown because it's smaller than some others and quick and easy to get around. The staff are usually friendly and helpful but I have a complaint and that is the endless waiting because there are never enough checkout operators working ...

O.Has almost every thing except coffee capsules 4 espressotoria machine. They had a promotion on the machine reduced 2 half price but didn't sell capsules. Shame was looking forward to making a nice brew.
B.Need to sort out more supervisors as your check out staff had hand up for 3 min or more before lady in red shirt came slowly with out a sorry or smile to key for alcohol I was wondering if you could bring in a policy that wouldn't look like school days so degrading. For the two ladies.
E.Seriously best place to shop. STAFF are so kind very helpful and during lvl 4 lockdown when other supermarkets were stressful. Countdown staff were really awesome and honestly kind
D.Seems cheaper than New World but narrower aisles. Also seems to be fewer choices. Checkout has to do cashier and packing therefore slower than New World (when they have separate packers at checkout.

I like coming here B'coz of the fact that I get my Snacks, Drinks, Chewing gum, Smokes & a variety of Foods to choose
So between the Potatoe Chips, Fizzy Drinks & the Healthy Choices within there, I normally go for the healthy Choices = Extra Gum, Pump Water, sometimes Powerade
Last pointers I have to add here is; the
It is rather cheap and Most of my Taekwon-Do Gangters go there for their own Snacks and Stuff as such
