Was shopping here few weeks back. And fella from the checkouts think he was a duty manager jack needs a haircut. Such outrageous standards to have a staff member with that mop working. Also not to long back guy named Shayne from butchery spent more time taking pics of girls in the shop on his phone than filling the meat case.... Other than that shop is average at best.

Love shopping here . Great deals especially for kids nappies snd neccesities. Only downfall is ive had a few products purchased only to get home and see the expiry date is1 year out 🤔 did get it sorted the first time with a gift card and replacement of item along with a apology which was great . Second time same type product different brand only got an email to wait a response from store manager of my area and still nothing yet . Other than that i prefer countdow n better than Pak n Save mostly as ive picked up from shopping around that when Countdown has deals Pak n Save have deals of similar products as well to match Countdown but Countdown has always come out cheaper for me except for the meat side of things. Living & food costs are super expensive nowadays and with 5 kids Countdown is always a win for me with school lunch stuff and baby stuff .

Used to shop there online every week. Large variety of items, always fresh and good quality. Nice staff and packers. For me, that’s the best supermarket to shop online in the hutt.

Very busy but following L2 requirements making it a good shopping experience (if grocery shopping can be classed as 'good'!) Aisles were not cluttered or crowded and I found everything on my list. Friendly, helpful staff.

We always do our supermarket shopping at Countdown Lower Hutt. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The shelves are generally always well stocked with everything you need.

Friendly service and staff. Well laid out and roomy. But specials not very special, felt a bit treated like I was dumb

I've been getting groceries here for six months and I can't complain. Pretty good tomatoes and stuff. I usually get my toothpaste and crumpets here. I don't have them at the same time, obviously. There's a beautiful Pohutukawa growing in the car park. Really enhances the parking experience. The ornithologists amongst you might even spot the odd Tui. Anyway, thanks for reading. Good old Countdown. Staff are friendly and helpful and the store layout is easy to navigate. The onsite pharmacy is very good as well

I find tha this store is big, spacious and has a good range of stock compared with Petone store. Well displayed and staff are very helpful.

What big well stocked supermarket, with friendly staff, definitely an experience for an out of towner country kid.

It wasn't too crowded today. Fresh produce was great and we found everything we needed.

Fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, quality goods, wines, house made breads and cakes, flowers in a comfortable spacious area. Stuff are all nice and friendly. Plenty of parking space. Home brand at affordable price.

Staff here aren't so friendly, and last time I went the shelves were a slight mess

Greart store,service & can always get a carpark, so love it

I find the Isles in countdown to long I mainly shop at PAK'nSAVE otherwise it's good to swing backwards and forwards between the two🤗

Did some quick shopping after work tonight, went down one isle and a trolley with stock was standing in the middle of the Isle but on both sides on the floor there were a few little boxes. What would have happen if an elderly person came down that isle, they had to push the trolley to the one side and might trip over the little boxes. Should prevent hazards not making ones, packers doing a good job but don't leave trolleys in the middle of an isle and small boxes on both sides of the trolley in the floor

Got a prepaid ham roll from the deli very nice price and product plus service very good

Just another Generic supermarket..they all the same foodstuffs or progressive..prices vary somewhat but what choice do we have. Whatever blah!!

Countdown Lower Hutt Queensgate are great stores every isle has it's various specials there's 30% off 25 % off super saver specials up to 50% off and clearance so always go up and down to see what's on offer and usually come away with things I didn't intend to buy but can't resist the discount offers.Thank s to the staff friendly and helpful .

Prices are higher at Countdown than some other supermarkets and the service at this branch can vary depending on the staff. Sometimes this is good and at other times, staff can be slow to fix problems with the self-checkout machines (not attentive). You do notice this because service at their Lambton Quay branch is always excellent by contrast. Their meat section has some pros in their favour ie. meat is well packaged and clearly labelled as to how it has been farmed (viz. pasture-raised, grass-fed, use of hormones or not, etc.) ie. there is more transparency in the labelling. CLH also stock pork that has been produced crate-free. The other advantages of shopping at CLH is that there is more variety of "gourmet" or exotic food items to choose from and it is open for longer hours. CLH also carries organic brands that are very competitively priced compared to the marketplace.

Great range of products and handy for packing.

Nice wide aisles, store is well laid out, good amount of parking - have always found a carpark. Staff are helpful if you can't locate an item. In particular, we were trying to find a specific product that we couldn't find on the shelves. An employee checked their list of SKDs to find that it was no longer stocked. Probably a result of the coronavirus (it's imported).

Large store with a good selection of foods. The shop is clean and items well displayed. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

I don't mind shopping at this place there's not a lot that I can't buy when shopping and I found the staff very helpful and friendly which makes for a good shopping experience

Great baked goods a lot of varieties of sauce, vegetables, fruits and snacks. I just find the portions of meat are small and expensive.

Despite the one time they took awake alcohol from this kne very happy man it looked like he was just ready to celebrate something great he was singing and so nice yet somoen took his wine cuz they thought he was drunk other then that I love countdown and my fav area is the international area but they need more south african products

I'm not sure I can see how supermarket shopping can get five stars when the start point is my perspective that five stars equates to ecstasy. So four stars is about as high as it gets in my book. Well run, good range and middling pricing.

Good cheap plain brand variety. Cost effective for larger sized goods. The fruit and vegetables are more expensive than Paknsav. Even sales. All cold goods more expensive than Paknsav. Great bakery, lots of variety, always good bread deals. Good household items. Pans, containers.. Large pet sections, personal care, health, makeup and onsite pharmacy. Big desert fridge. Different frozen veges to choose goods, not just peas, beans, corn. Milk, eggs, dairy, cheese - All more expensive than Paknsav. Material shopping bags are small. Same sizes as what New World has. The staff are mostly friendly. There's some really funny checkout staff. Wheelchair onsite like driving a tank. Staff are slow in assisting.

I have only been a few times but it’s a great store. Very modern and professional looking especially with new upgrade. Good size with great range of products. As with all Countdown stores I have been to, delicious excellent quality in store baking. The staff are friendly too. Overall a good place to shop

I love Countdown Lower Hutt. You need to ask their awesome staff where all their specials are placed. You know like those foods you love at the Deli. Ask where they put them. I have bought a lovely dinner treat of vehes and meat for less than $5 a dinner. All the best..

Great shop but be helpful if you accepted Gold card otherwise staff are helpful,prices affordable and havinv the Chemist there is handy!

Store is allways full and has the latest items available also the pharmacy is a huge bonus with there free scripts definently recomend.

Bright and airy place with roomy aisles and plenty of choices. The disabled parking REALLY needs to be swapped with the taxi and first few parking spots. It can be very difficult pushing a wheelchair up the present sloping ground!!!

5 stars, mainly because it has a pharmacy. The store doesn't feel as airy and light as it's Tawa sibling, but always appears clean during the week when I visit.

A nicely laid out store with wide aisles and everything more or less where you would expect to find it. My only criticism is the disabled parking area, being on quite steeply sloping ground!!

I like going here over some of their competitors due to the cosy feel of the store layout. Not always the cheapest but I don't feel like I'm walking through a warehouse. I'm not a fan of self serve checkouts so always look for a human to process my groceries.

I shop yesterday for my baby & somehow i left one of the items from the invoice here in countdown. It was a Nappy Rash cream for my little one. Gone there again today & picked the cream again, before buying just checked at counter if someone found the one i missed yesterday. They checked, even they could not find it, but they offered me one as they realised i am going to buy it anyway. so very good service.

Excellent stocking and service, all of the staff were brilliant. One of the best Countdowns I have been in throughout New Zealand.

Big shout out and thanks to Amanda (seafood boss) and Patrick who works in the deli area. Had a mis-communication with our ham order but these two amazing people did everything they could to rectify the mistake and went above and beyond to provide us with a replacement ham, added their amazing glaze and a box of Celebrations chocs. We cant thank you two enough for your outstanding customer service and hope you get recognized for the exceptional service you provided. Cheers

As an infrequent visitor I am thrown of by the shelf packing logic. Bread offerings are at different ends of the shop, prepare for longer traveling times. Same as on NZ roads. Coconut milk was also not where I would initially look for it but I appreciate the OCD factor. I liked that they have signs for each isle, I suppose with I would be still in the store. I found plenty of staff to guide me. Good store for people don't minding spending much time in a grocery store and having chats.

An annoying policy around buying alcohol - they didn't accept our Australian ID (drivers license - not just some made up dodgy ID) and wouldn't sell a bottle of wine to a 27 year and 40 year old. Being a bit smarter and using some common sense around how you apply your policies will definitely lead to better customer service outcomes. Come on guys, you can do better.

Always enjoy going to Countdown Petone, the store is well laid out and the staff are excellent and helpful, having a resident chemist shop also is handy to get your script filled while you shop and a lotto outlet, plenty of parking and public transport nearby, parking for mother's with children and disabled parking at the door, takeaway food outlets at the entrance and a Westpac Bank.

lady in the pharmacy was brilliant. I was tired with a 10 day old and needed something. When she found out they didn't have the product and I needed it that day, she called around other pharmacies until she found one that did. A huge relief. I'm very thankful.

It was good. Stopped here for lunch to find a healthy alternitive. I went to thr deli and hand picked items for a sandwich as well as a small tub of chicken pasta. Paid about 5 bucks and made a decent lunch. There was a lunch time rush and all of the automated cashier's were packed. Maybe head out brfore lunch time rush.

Good selection although car parks are a little tight

I had to get a passport photo done by the Pharmacy at Countdown Lower Hutt, and it was perfect. Online application accepted the photo without question! The staff were very helpful.

Good place to shop.

Pretty much like most other Countdowns, but had recently undergone some restructuring, allowing more space between shelves. Good selection of fresh produce, prepared food, and packaged goods. No pharmacy in this one.

Moved to the hutt recently. Tried all of the different supermarkets (means a lot to us lol) and this countdown is the best! Well laid out, good lighting, nice staff. Special shout out to Deepika the checkout operator for being so good at her job! All bags are the same weight, things grouped together properly, and she's friendly too!

Being our local Countdown we shop here every week and my husband complains every week. The shelves are not stocked some weeks and we find ourselves saying "oh well we'll pick that item up from New World instead in the week" And we had some alcohol at the till, it took the supervisor nearly 10 mins to come and sort it out. People in the queue behind us were moving tills. Oh and by the way staff... the silver lined countdown bags are for milk butter etc not for cereal and chippies. We change it over ourselves.

I really appreciate the customer service here. My young children are always acknowledged and they love that attention. Great service! Great variety of products. We are happy customers

Love this place. Do all my online shopping at Countdown. Staff are really nice and polite.

Haven't been there in some time and it looks huge inside now and they seem to be renovating on a large scale yet with little or no inconvenience to the customer. Aisles are big and bright, great specials , lovely staff.

Could do with a greater range of products.

Seems to always be short on some stock or have deleted many.one whole aisle dedicated to sweets could offer more healthy choices.

Nice grocery store but the car park and the road near the entrance can be quite busy on Saturdays due to the nearby farmer's market

Nearly everything I needed. The staff is great. I was the only one wearing a mask, and in general customers weren't practicing social distancing.

A great place for grocery shopping. Recently then have started the pharmacy as well. It's got plenty of parking (both open and under cover).

Normally I hate shopping in supermarkets, get in and get out fast. This morning was no different except that I left the shop with a huge smile on my face after being served by Heu. We have shopped in this store since it opened and have no desire to change. The location is ideal, the prices are good, the bakery excellent but above all the staff and service are exceptional (more like extended family).

Busy place. Watch out for resales, pay particular attention on the expiry dates. Have had couple of bad experiences before.

This is one of the best supermarkets in the area. Easy parking, good location, great selection of stuff. And free fruit for children 😄

I love lower hutt countdown the manager is so friendly and helpful and down to earth. His stuff are awesome again friendly and helpful. You should get more managers like him.

Great place to shop and get groceries. They have a wide range of products and also carry International goods too. Countdown is owned by the famous Woolworths.

Easily one of the biggest and best countdown stores in the Hutt, loads of parking. Lots of variety on offer as the store is so large.

Make sure to check the expiry dates on products. Countdown shelves are often stocked by sales reps of various brands who could care less about product expiry.

Always a great place to shop!

Countdown high st lit always great to visit friendly staff value for money

Store is undergoing renovations, so things were a little haphazard. We got all we needed though.

Big store,lots of parking and store has alot of variety and choice
