SHOPPING✔️ My daughter & I have shopped here a few times, the staff & place is primo! Bakery is top notch 10/10. Your store do have a great selection 👌 MELODY CAFE ☕️ We decided to stop at the cafe to get 2 medium mocha's! One with coconut milk & the other with Almond milk both extra hot with Marshmallows. 🥺 so sorry we couldn't taste the flavour of the milks, wasn't extra hot, couldn't really taste the mocha, got the Marshmallows though and the service awesome!

I have shopped at NW longer than most of the staff. My last visit was really unpleasant. The attitude of the girl on self service was arrogant and rude, she snubbed me when I queried a product price on special. I was so annoyed at her lack of service and disrespect that l spoke to the duty manager on my way out however l didnt feel confident that my complaint would be taken seriously. Customer service is seriously lacking, l really hope this gets addressed.

I like the range here and the staff were super friendly which was great. What doesn't make sense is that since covid19 they haven't had shopping baskets available for use which is essentially the same risk as a trolley. If i just want to grab a few things and go through ss checkout i don't need a trolley i just need a basket please bring back the baskets

Called in because they were on my way home & I needed some things. I was amazed that not much, if anything was "on-sale" (on-special). Only purchased half of what I needed (approx 60 dollars) as their normal prices are a little expensive. My 1st thought was "They must be doing well in this very competitive climate to have almost no specials". Anyway, luckily I found time to go to Pak-n-Save on other side of town where, as usual there were "specials" in all areas. I really loaded up - Upper management of NW would do well to up their game in this climate to maximize turnover. Just my humble opinion from a 51 yr career in the retail sectors as an owner of several business's & having worked in many higher managerial positions for large companies. Staff are very good & helpful tho', which is essential - a credit to them. Anyway I believe in constructive- criticism & also constructive-praise where due - Just saying for both business & customer's benefit!

It is convenient to shop there, for flowers that you might want for a birthday gift or condolences for someone who has passed away. Flowers for every occasion. Also Lotto shop next to the cafe there just hit the jackpot of $14,333,333.00 for 1 lucky customer. Cafe has great food for a munch, also coffee or tea or hot chocolate, MMMMM!!! Also great lines of grocery and produce and bakery goods as well.

Beautiful store, But I purchased a Vegetarian Quiche, sat down that night, cut into it, and it was filled with Chicken 👀I phoned the supermarket to lemake them aware of this, must say they refunded, and also let me get something free if charge from the Deli, thanks for that, but don't think I'll be back there as the Deli sale's person just said oh its difficult to know the Chicken ones from the Vegetarian ones,, I mean seriously 👀🤔You are one of the most high profile supermarkets in Palmerston North I would expect more from the comments from the Deli sale's person, Check your Content!

Melodys New World has been my usual shopping venue for the last 5years. However, after a recent experience with young tellers who are more interested in yakking to their mates about the previous night's exploits, at the expense of my food/groceries, falling on the floor as they've kept their finger on the button of the conveyor, and then they don't apologize and have attitude, No Thank You! Management at Melodies, rather employ more mature staff who know the meaning of the words 'customer service'. Alternatively, teach the younger generation to do the job they employed to do properly. Customer service first!

This is a really nice, slightly older but still very cozy and well supplied supermarket situated in the heart of Broadway in Palmerston North. I would consider this my local New World, and the staff here are very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

Very good supermarket due to having a good selection. I usually shop at Countdown as it is closer to me, but am always impressed with the variety in the meat and alcohol departments - as well as general groceries. Parking is usually pretty good though it can be hard to get out of the park on the Broadway side if you are travelling towards Palmy centre. Checkout staff are usually very friendly they usually have the correct amount of staff on and have lots of self service checkouts too.

I wanna love it because it's so nice looking and has a range I can't find elsewhere and all that, but WOW were there a lot of people there... "I'll be quick," I told myself, only to find almost every aisle barricaded by a mass of trolleys and idle browsers. However, if you don't shut down and die in crowd situations then you'll probably like this place.

Great store with excellent selection of specialty products, bakery items, pre prepared food, and alcohol. Can be busy at certain times of the day due to the large residential population surrounding it. This can also cause the carpark to be hectic. Get there nice and early or later in the night and it's a breeze.

On entering New World Melodys there is a cute cafe. The flowers and plants to purchase are healthy and very fresh looking. The vegetables and fruits are nicely displayed and easy to access. The bananas were a bit overipe, for me, however I managed to find some greener ones. Great salad selection. The kumara, cut pumpkin, washed potatoes and beetroot were in great condition and just what I needed. However, it was the meat selection that really impressed me. I settled on the lamb which was deboned and stuffed with rosemary and mint. I was delighted to see excellent Esk Valley Meats products in store and readily available. I chose a pack of 5 beef flavoured and 5 pork flavoured sausages. The self service checkout was supervised by a very competent young woman who made my day. A very easy place to shop.

This is by far the best supermarket in the world. Always great produce and friendly smiles, oh and did I mention the fit lads. I was craving some chocolate milk the other day and they had sold out of primo 1.5 litre chocolate milk, this lady who had glasses and brown hair offered to go find me some out the back. I see her walkin back to me with my baby in her hands. She had found it! What a legend. Thank you New World for making my dreams come true.

New World Melody's Supermarket is one of the best in NZ without a doubt. I have lived in NZ since i was 25 years old as a young doctor. I immigrated from Singapore in 1976 and this supermarket has always been my favourite place to shop. I love the fresh fruit section as the green mangoes at $2 each is delicious when eaten with raw sugar and light soy sauce with a dash of spice eg thin chilli slices. I love the fresh cool baby coconut water I can drink by boring a hole into it. This drink is and taste heavenly at cost of $3. My favorite lunch is a half cooked chicken of Tandoori favour at $8.50 is a steal and it more than satisfied my dietary daily intake of protein. I can eat this combination of mango fruit salad, and yummy sumptuous Tandoori half chicken , wash them down with cool delightful young coconut water from Thailand. There is a good size covered eating area inside the supermarket with clean tables and chairs. My cutlery I bought from the utensils section of wooden clean disposables knofe and fork. You are welcome to try my recipes here and is quick and easy. It is less than $15 lunch and something the Fast Food store just cannot beat!

Contrary to that, the guy that served me at check out was not customer focused at all and obviously not happy in his work. Best Bread Bakery in Palmerston North. Fluffy chewy and large sized Turkish and Ciabatta bread, specialty artisan and pull apart breads. Melodys New World - they do provide the best variety of foods for the community. Great Delicatessen, Sea foods section, Dairy and Butcher Meats. I like Melodys because they have variety including ethnic flavours mexican, asian, indian foodstuffs, high quality produce and friendly staff. And LOTTO with second chance box.
