Closest conveniance store in Matapouri and they have the essentials for a rather hefty price. As you can see in the photo of the menu, hot food is QUITE expensive but that is predictable in a rather rural area.

The freshest fish & chips we’ve come across in the Northland & Coromandel region this summer! We ordered one fillet of dory and hoki plus a scoop of chips for $15! And the whole experience was topped off by an incredibly lovely lady at the counter! Thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely beautiful. The best beach in NZ i have lived there since I was 13 and I'm 61 now and I never get sick of looking at this bay .

It's a great place for lunch. So much on the menu! Plenty of parking, and lots of tables to sit down. The service was fast, and very friendly.

Popular for ice creams etc, but it could do with some improvements to the interior layout so customers can move around more easily. The service seemed a little chaotic, with none of the staff appearing to know what their specific tasks were. There is room for a more efficient service if a little thought was put into workflow processes and the store layout. Perhaps something to think about once the summer holiday season has calmed down?

Perfect spot for a bite to eat after a day at the beach. The Sweet Chili Fish Burger is a must and of course top it all off with an ice cream. Great music too!

I've travelled NZ for around 6 weeks all up over the last 2 year's and have tried the fish and chips nearly everywhere ive been. The fish and chips here were absolutely amazing. Golden brown and extremely tasty. we also for a hamburger which was one of the best I've had in any country. I was super surprised by the quality of food here ... I do have one request, which is to to get some bbq sauce to go with those chips!

Lovely little grocery store. It had all necessities for summer holidays in NZ. We got out Christmas Eve dinner of fish, chips and a vege burger. Also we ate an ice cream. The food was very yummy. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and there was brochures about the area in the shop. The shop is also close to a lovely swimming beach and Mermaid Pools were within a walking distance.

One of the best fish and chips ever created by human civilian. World class and a kiwi must do!!! Hurry up, don't miss out. Tried gurnard catch of the day - it WAS one of the juiciest, freshest and tastiest things I have eaten!!! Thank you!!!
