Great little store, has everything you need if you get caught short. Reasonable prices for a remote little store. Helpful and friendly staff and excellent ice cream parlour attached! Love the Little Lato selection!

It's got the essentials. Not cheap, but then that is normal for small stores a long way from supermarkets. Good to support these businesses!

Went several times during in November when Auckland was in lockdown. Good range and one would expect things to be expensive given the remoteness of the store, but the store is very expensive. I'm guessing the usual patronage are Aucklanders with holiday homes in Hahei who can afford the stores prices. Comments from the woman serving saying how hard things have been for them when I've queried the incorrect pricing - is poor form. Things have been hard for everyone, but I'm in your store supporting it by spending money. If I've selected items by price, please ensure they're rung up correctly at the till.

What a great friendly store that had everything we needed. They also provided ideal recommendations of things to do in Hahei and the Coromandel and the service was so friendly with that local touch. The gelato was fantastic too and topped off a great day in Hahei - thanks team.

The Little Lato gelato store off the side of the general store is TO DIE FOR. Got the Lolly cake and Chocolate salted caramel and might be the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. You must stop here and have some of their small batch ice cream. We will be coming back tomorrow! Good option for vegan friendly too!

I’m not sure why, but randomly, when we’re on a road trip, I crave a pie... Nothing but a pie will satisfy me! I’m happy to report that you can buy delicious pies here and they’ll make your day. They also have a great range of candy for the kiddies, about 4 freezers of ice-cream choices, and a great wine selection…. They sell everything else too, like hot water beach shovels, clothes, hats, groceries, postal bags….. but we’re a pie/candy/ice-cream/wine kinda family when we’re on hols, so this is our to go to store.

Love this convenient little store. Great range, everything you might need. I think the prices are reasonable considering you would have to travel 35 mins to go to a regular supermarket. The owners are always kind and helpful with a smile and have done a great revamp since taking over. The gelatos are great too.

Gelato huge thumbs up. There’s a huge range of options including quite a few vegan ones which I was impressed with. They were yum and a decent price point considering the vegan options. We returned the next day for a smoothie. Not that great to be honest. Hardly any flavor and tasted like they added lots of ice. The worse part is that it’s served in a plastic smoothie cup with a plastic straw. Quite unfortunate to see considering the beach is 200 m away.

Shane from the general store rented one of their kayaks to us. He was super friendly and helpful and no pressure if we weren't back on the dot. We were given a phone for emergencies, bottled water and one of their super yum gelato ice creams when we got back.. soo good. I highly recommend renting a kayak from these guys.

Small store, reasonable selection given the size of the place and the distance from large cities. Prices are what you'd expect and they have some of the necessities like diapers, wipes, and tampons. They also have wine and fancy cheese, but I'd have settled for a larger selection of dinner and lunch foods. Great for snacks and bait, but it seems they'd like you to eat at the one restaurant in town every meal instead.

Friendly staff and decent variety of products. I found it to be extremely expensive, found 50-100% increase in everything I looked for and this was off-season (late April).

Very nice place, has all the facilities required. Staff are nice enough and served me well. I especially enjoyed the flirty female working when i came in. I enjoyed the place thoroughly and the services provided. Im unsure however weather i would come here i was suffering from any variation of hepatitis the vibe of the place also felt specially threatening to hepatitis A. Im unsure weather they would allow you to bring in an animal however big it may be. I would like to emphasize that i strongly feel hep A is not welcomed here.

Handy as only shop, could do with a revamp and redesign layout to enable more stock. Friendly helpful staff. Slightly more expensive than supermarket but that is to be expected for the convenience it offers.

Expensive, yes. But given the remote area and cost of transport it is justified, after all it is a Convenience store and one expects to pay for this. People are friendly and helpful - would be back in a flash...... many thanks guys !!!

The store was a good walk from the camping ground. The prices are a bit high, but they're what you'd expect in an out of the way holiday town.
