My first time going to a proper piercing place rather than a chemist today.. Had my third lobe piercings done this morning the place was so clean and air conditioned 😆I had them done by by Jaime at living art Glendene. She was AMAZING! So nice, friendly, helpful and professional! Talked me through it all and suggested what would look good, how to take care of it and made sure I was ok and felt Comfortable throughout the whole booking. Piercing came out great, didn’t hurt and all went smoothly. Thank you living art def be back soon 🙏🏽

This was my first ever tattooing experience so had to be memorable. I wanted to get Ave Maria tattooed on my right outer forearm and as you can see the design was not at all an easy one to tattoo. Rob not only decided to do it on 24th December morning but also did a brilliant job. He is extremely precise with his tools, loves his job, is experienced and highly skilled.

We had a great experience at the Browns Bay studio today, my 16 year old son had both his ears pierced and my beautiful anxious daughter had her helix pierced. 2021 I got another epic Tattoo from Rob for my birthday/xmas gift to myself. I don't see why I would go anywhere else. Love this place:) my very very first time at a tattoo shop in my past 21 years. I had my nose piercing with Rob, and I came all the way from Mount Albert which is a bit far way. Our Journey for finding someone to pierce my Daughter's nose started on Tuesday. Initially we had decided on getting her nose pierced with a needle but were told by another business that gun would be the best way to go as risk of falling out with needle. Thank god we dodged a bullet with the other business. Rob was so helpful and professional both him and his Daughter were so helpful! Explained to me why the needle piercing was the only way we should go, I am thankful we found him and decided to go ahead with Rob I understand that he is trying to educate people the difference between gun piercing and needle. My daughter said the needle they used was opened infront of her brand new in a packet. Both Rob and his Daughter put my mind to ease as I only wanted the best outcome for my daughter. I had my nose pierced many years ago and that experience with another business was horrific! My daughter is pleased and so am I with placement of the piercing. Great work Rob please don't settle for the first piercing place you see and always take the time to go to good places like Rob's who actually care about the way they do things.

I highly recommend Living Art (Rob) I did the piercing training through living art and it was worth every cent. Rob made me feel comfortable which took alot of the stress away. The training is perfect, well explained. He even offered me a job afterwards and stated that if I ever need help or guidance after the training he will be there to help. Have been to Rob previously for a tattoo and it was awesome. No gaps in the colour and the lines are awesome.Rob is professional and really knows his trade. Cracking humour too. Recently went in to take advantage of their $20 peircing with Jaime and she was great. Professional and quick with the tongue. Minimal pain for a needle going through the tongue and very clear with after care. Clean, professional, sterile, friendly and well recommended. Sorry for the dribble on your hands haha fun times. Bex is amazing also. Just met her recently being Robs assistant. She has a great sense of humour, very efficient with communication and is a great smile at the door. I went to get my eyebrow pierced on Satuday and the experience was absolutely perfect. Rob was super nice, got the piercing done nice and quick but in a very professional and accurate manner, and I came out with a piercing that I'm very happy with. Had my tattoo completed with Rob yesterday. A week prior I had gone in and explained the story behind the tattoo and what I was looking to get. Yesterday Rob blew me away with the end result, the tattoo was more than I ever could have expected it to turn out like. Rob takes the time to listen and understand, he will recommend but never pushy, and makes you feel 100% comfortable. Rob is very gentle when it comes to tattooing, although that may sound odd, people who’ve been tattooed will understand what I mean by that. Rob is the only tattooist that I use. I have been going to see him for many, many years. He is always so professional, has fantastic ideas when I am unsure what I am and does a beautiful job. I have just had my fourth tattoo done by Rob. The previous three were all done by Rob, over a period of 20 years! I have known Rob since I was a teenager in South Africa and my sister still has the dolphin that Rob did for her also 20 years ago. It still looks amazing, but it’s a very special tattoo as it was the first one Rob ever did on human skin!! I won’t go anywhere else in the world for a tattoo. Rob is a master and one of the nicest people I know. The last tattoo I had which was three weeks ago was a commemoration for my 2nd Dad who we lost to cancer. Rob did exactly what I had in mind and also recommended size, he won’t just do anything if it’s not going to work. He has got to where he is today through total hard work it is so wonderful to see someone I have known since I was a teenager succeed and to become so talented. I have wanted a "personal" piercing for the last 5 years and had researched the procedure many times... I finally decided to get it done but was having trouble finding the right piercer in New Plymouth that I felt comfortable with... So I decided to Google!!!... He replied the next day and found him to be very friendly and professional, so I made a booking!!!... Their advice is very good! I had a nose piercing for over 6 months which I had gotten done at KEEN ON PIERCING. The second time i enquired into what the bump was, they recommended studex and nothing further. I had 9 keloids over the course of 6 months!!! I HAD ENOUGH. Living art changed my piercing to a screw on. They also recommended using tea tree oil, however with the simple change of jewelry, the keloid had disappeared. Never had any problems since, hoping it heals right this time round. I would highly recommend living art, as they are honest in what they do.

Interesting premises. Considerate, good service. Only despite being really careful not to have this happen: the first time I ate - after being pierced just below my lip - the flat metal back to the labret jewellery (inside my mouth) took a chip out of one of my teeth. I suspect a bar with balls on both ends would have been better for this piercing, so any accidental biting on it would slide off the ball not cut in to teeth like the flat metal plate did. I now have a ring in there (over my lip) which was my desire from the beginning, and that just slides over my teeth if it contacts them; so no problems with that. I also had my eyebrow pierced, and that has been fine.

Rob is an amazing artist with the cultural and historical knowledge and personality to know what kind of tattoo fits a person. He'll do that stupid shark tattoo you want but he'll even make it look goooood. I've spent about 9 hours as his canvas so far and I would highly recommend him for someone looking for a powerful, meaningful tattoo.

I’m 46yrs old and finally decided to get a tattoo. I got hold of Rob and asked him to have a look at my design. He was prompt and very friendly, so a booking was made. I was blown away with the suggested addition to the design, which further enhanced the meaning behind it. I have been to Living Art (and old Primal) for 90% of all of my piercings, and every time has been quick, painless and stress free. Vertical Labret - Ten years strong and still perfect! I also had my Septum pierced roughly 2 years back, for this one I was very nervous but Robs confidence makes you feel a lot better and it was perfectly straight and amazing. I warn everyone to try not to play with your new piercings as much as possible!! I am a hay fever sufferer and couldn't help it and made my own septum slightly crooked during the healing process, thankfully you can only tell when I look up!! ;) either way, the team here are the bomb and I'll be coming back for years to come, guaranteed.

From the first day I walk in there to do enquiries, untill yesterday that I when for my tattoo, I had the best and highest standard of service. So I had a tattoo that I was not happy with and wanted it covered up. I've been to a few places but with no luck and no one that wanted to help me and it looked like my only option would be laser treatment and I was devastated. I had been looking around trying to find someone to do a VCH piercing as I didn't want someone to do it that didn't know what they were doing as I had seen and read on the internet of a lot of incorrectly placed ones etc. I came across Living Art Tattoos and Body Piercing and decided to email them (I also emailed others as well). Rob emailed me back the next day and was very clear in explaining about the piercing and that he had done over 350 of these piercings. He was very good at answering all of my questions and patient in doing so knowing that I wanted it done right first time round. I decided to spend the 4 hour trip and go down to get it done with Rob and found him great even after I had it done with helping me find jewellery for it sending me websites he's been a great help and I am very happy with it can't wait to it heals and I can change the jewellery in it. Rob done an amazing cover up Koi tattoo for me over a large black kanji tattoo that nearly every other shop said was impossible or said I would need expensive laser surgery first. Bit of a scary attitude, didn't give me long enough bars for my lip piercings and had to get them removed due to swelling, and doctors said that if I had gotten longer bars then I couldve waited the swelling out and been fine :(. Employees/trainees were gentle but he was quite rough when tightening the balls and it swelled up painfully afterwards but maybe it was just an accident. Not too keen on returning as I don't want to risk getting small jewelry but generally professional. Tounge piercing was great though

Alvina done my tattoo 2 weeks ago and im still obsessed with it I cant stop staring at it. She was so lovely and comforting (as it was my first) and settled all questions and nerves that I had. The process was easy and straight forward right from the start and id happily be tattooed by her again. Ive also got to add that the fact that the tattoo room had a tv in there and had "tattoos after dark" playing was a huge relief too as i have major anxiety and kept thinking about the awkward silence that would occur but nothing of that sort happened which extremely made me feel welcomed. Over a year ago I had an opportunity to get a Daith piercing done here as I suffered terribly from migraines and had heard that a daith would help as it’s on an acupressure point that relives headache & migraines. At the very worst I’d have a cool piercing right !!! Well as soon as the needle went in and before the lady had finished the pressure in my head lifted instantly for me !! And I’ve been migraine free ever since except for stupidly getting it changed for a cute heart shaped one but the person doing it had no clue ( from a different place in Henderson by the mall ) and the heart was way thinner so back came the migraines until I had it removed and the old one put back in ! Again instant relief so now I’ll go back and get my son hopefully some relief form his migraine hassles !! So thanks heaps guys
