I have had two tattoos now from Lara at left hand path, both quite large and in full colour, definitely would recommend, and would return again. The experience is always excellent, from the design, to the tattooing, and then the excellent after service care. Lara’s line work is also always super clean, with no blowout on the colour work, which speaks to her experience as an artist. With my last piece it was really cool to let Lara offer her advice on colour choices that will blend really well together, and it gave me confidence that I would be happy walking away with something I was happy with, since as you know tattoos are permanent. Thanks again Lara!

finally got a great tattoo from Lara recently. Had been trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I have multiple sclerosis, sometimes known or called the snowflake disease. Have always loved faeries. So she's catching snowflakes. Not One the same. Lara did an amazing job with my artwork. Love it.

Originally I had my consultation with Andy’s partner Lara, she is also a talented artist who had been recommended to me from friends and family. Like many, I’m sure, I had seen Andy’s artistry online, but because of the type of work he does, I did not think he would be interested in the designs I was looking for. As it works out, I couldn't have been more wrong. The fact was, all I had was a high-level concept of what I was after, I was uncertain on some of the detail and how to bring it all together, I needed somebody to turn my ideas into a cohesive piece And Andy was just the man for the job. For the record, I was after a Black and Grey, Day of the Dead theme, full sleeve, inside and out. Other than one type of element which was a must have and no heavy use of boards at the wrist and shoulder and no flowers used to just fill space. I was open to any ideas This worked out very well, Andy is a fantastic guy and an incredible artist, he listen to what I wanted and came up with great elements and a way to bring them together. The studio is attached to their home, which is a lifestyle block just north of Christchurch, They have a TV, music, iPads with Netflix and wireless headphones and stunning views out the window to look at. As it is a private studio, there are no walk-ins, so your privacy is assured, not that, that was a concern for me, but I'm sure for others it’s something to be considered. Hygiene practices are impeccable, everything is clean and the preparation to the work areas are above approach, ink and needles are opened, arranged and setup in front of you after you sit down. Andy is very clear on the aftercare process, which I followed and had zero issues. My piece took 5 full day sessions, 2 lots of 2 days in a row and then a final day with a month apart for healing, all up, a little less than 3 months. Completed the first week of December 2020, I have held off writing this review for almost 4 months, just to be sure everything healed up as it should and that I'm incredibly satisfied with the end result, which I am 😊 My tattoo is mine, I got it for myself and nobody else, and don't have the desire to post pictures online, though for the sake of this review and to give you an idea of Andy's work, I will post the start of the element on my shoulder after the first day, the eyes are just incredible. I really cant recommend him enough, crazy talented. Lara is a very kind and talented artist and I would definitely recommend getting a tattoo at Left Hand Path. The tattoo design captured all the details we had discussed in our initial consultation and was exactly what I wanted. The studio is very clean, organized and comfortable. The tattoo itself turned out amazing - The lines are well defined and the colour turned out beautifully! After care instructions were easy to follow and Lara was kind to check in during the healing process. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back for another tattoo! Highly recommend.

Amazing experience with Lara, she was so friendly and easy to talk to, and had different options for the design which I could choose from, as well as letting me choose the colours and offering professional advice re. Which would be best in terms of fading (I originally wanted pastel colours). She also provided great aftercare instructions and easy to get in touch with when I had queries about the healing and I was able to send photos too. Definitely recommend, and I definitely will be coming back for another tattoo hopefully some day. Also excellent value for money! And a really lovely studio outside of Christchurch too

I had a tattoo done by Lara at their boutique studio in late 2020, the whole experience from start to finish was completely stress-free and really well received. During the design phase, Lara was able to take my concept and using her own experience come up with the perfect design. When getting the tattoo done, I found their studio well set up with complimentary drinks and entertainment, and both Lara and Andy were friendly and inviting, making me feel comfortable and relaxed. The aftercare service was also excellent, with Lara happy to answer any questions I had, and easy to understand instructions for the ongoing care of my new piece of artwork. Finally, the tattoo itself was nothing short of exceptional, I already had high expectations from doing research prior and reading reviews such as culture trips best Tattoo Parlors in Christchurch, but the end result exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend Left-hand Path to anyone considering their next piece!

I had an amazing experience with Lara! Beautiful end result, but also just a lovely environment to be in while having a tattoo done. You can take your mind off the pain while watching Netflix, having a cup of tea or soft drink complimentary.
