I reccomend Otautahi Tattoo 100% A very professional business filled with incredible artists. I had this piece made by Aleksa and I was blown away by the quality, time and talent put into it. You could say the price is just a bit above average, but believe me, you will not find better work in the country. Completely worth the price and pain. If you're looking to having your skin inked, please, please DO NOT hesitate to come here!!

I can honestly say that I don’t think I could be any happier with the service and my Tattoo. I walked in inquiring about pricing and was given an appointment the very next morning. I showed Jay a few of my ideas and he nailed the design 1st time!! It was even better than I ever imagined... and I’ve been deliberating about this tattoo for 3 years! Plus it only took him like 30/40 mins to come up with. Super talented! Since I was already in the chair I decided to get another tattoo, which they did for a great price for the set. The whole crew was sound! The vibe in the shop was great, good tunes playing, well priced and of course fantastic tattoo artists! I highly recommend!!

I had my first tattoo experience here recently and I couldn’t recommend Otautahi Tattoo (Queenstown) more. I specifically booked Ren for his fine line tattooing and I’m so pleased I did. I am completely happy with my first tattoo! I was afraid to do it but Tama made me feel very confident and I did it! It was wrap leg big one for the first time! Great place, great service, very welcoming and professional. I recommend!

My husband and I both got inked by Will and Rua...they rock...so happy...def be back.

I popped in one day last week and was happy to hear they were able to give me an appointment later that day. Everyone was super friendly and the shop was clean. I shared my photos with the tattoo artist and was happy with the basic shape and style once the outline was drawn. I shared another photo of the style and inspiration for the shading. The tattoo artist told me she would add the shading after the outline was tattooed, so I did not get to see what she would do. While I like my tattoo and it is growing on me-- the quality of the art is incredible, I am still left a bit disappointed as the shading is not the simple style I was after. It is much darker than I was hoping for. I can't complain too much, as it is beautifully done. Maybe just should have been more clear about my vision.

This was my first tattoo, and they were so helpful in answering all of my questions and getting my tattoo perfect! They got me in after only a few hours of requesting an appointment and made the experience awesome overall, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out

Amazing work by an amazing artist! It was actually my first tattoo, I knew I wanted one but I've decided to do it the morning and get tatooed the afternoon! Myself and a friend walked into the tattoo parlour next to our hostel to get a spontaneous tattoo to commemorate our trip, and we could not have walked into a more beautiful, professional and welcoming place. Such a good experience here. Got my first tattoo from Will ( TattzandHatz ) This artist was super cool about it being my first being sure to make sure I was ok throughout the process. All the staff were very friendly and overall a great atmosphere. The quality of artists was outstanding and there is an artist for everyone's needs! Fresh off the plane here in Queen'stown on 6th april 2021 and me and my mum went in with a rough idea of what marching tattoo we wanted. The receptionist was lovely and the studio atmosphere was welcoming and inviting. We showed him the picture and the artist was happy to modify it for up and make it more unique on his tablet for us, cleaned it up, sized it, placed it and Inked up all in 40-50 minutes between us. (I know my cat isn't as impressive as the other pictures shown but I'm proud and grateful for it and the artist for his time and effort.) The artist was friendly and the others were funny, 160 dollars was a bit pricey but the art looks good. It's my second tattoo and I'm happy it's not my first, told his about the story of my first and how I almost threw up because I was so nervous about the pain. We were all able to have a laugh only to laugh more when I told my mum she was lucky it was second or I would have thrown up on her lap. All in all very pleasant and memorable experience well worth the money, if I'm ever back down and have the money I'll be sure to get another one by these artist. April 9th 2021 I'm currently thinking of going back and getting a easy kelp vine added to my left forearm or even a sea horse, how ever because of the end of my holiday is tomorrow I may not have enough to get it done. :( Hopefully I can go in and get another one tomorrow before I go home. :)

I went to Otautahi Tattoo on my last day in Queenstown - one of the locals told me they were great for walk-ins and they did not disappoint. They asked me what I wanted and for references, size, location, etc... and I had an appointment within minutes. The staff is very friendly. You can get a appointment on the same day or the next day. The studio is very clean. Every Tattoo is unique and selfdrawn from the artist. But you can't pay per hour. So the prices are very different. That is the only negative aspect.

I would definitely recommend going to Otautahi tattoo. The staff were lovely and they were able to schedule an appointment for me with only a couple of days notice. They were able to design the tattoo exactly how I wanted it.

Had emailed the shop on a Friday about a potential appointment for two ta moko tattoos on Sunday since we were only in Christchurch for 2 days - the response was prompt and informative - popped into the shop on Saturday when we arrived from the US, they were able to move some things around to accommodate us and everyone was friendly and welcoming - can’t say enough good things about our experience!

They don't have an hourly rate so there is no consistency in pricing--they originally asked for a very steep price for what I got and I convinced them to lower it. The work is good (which is why 4 stars) but I wouldn't return there for a larger piece as I feel they would heavily over charge.
