Reviews of Abel Tasman Kayaks
R.
Amazing company to use to explore Abel Tasman National Park. The kayak and equipment provided was great. Through safety briefing by nice guides before heading out on the water.
D.
Gareth and the team made our trip absolutely awesome! We wanted to do our trip a particular way where we did a chunk of hiking (sans packs!), then kayaked the last bit of the trip over two days. Got on the phone to Gareth and sorted our Nelson transfers, water taxis, bag transfers, kayak hires, and induction briefing all within the hour. Booking it all with one company is a great idea because you feel like you’ve got a little local company looking out for you while your off the grid in paradise, and Abel Tasman Kayaks we’re awesome, and catered to our requests for a good price. They were even happy to make us lunch for when they dropped off our kayaks on day 6 of our trip! Thanks team!
S.
We had such a great time, Abel Tasman Kayaks made everything super easy. 2 day kayak, 2 day hike is a perfect way to check out the national park. Awesome service, beautiful holiday. Can't recommend them enough!
N.
They helped organize something that basically everyone involved had a slight to zero idea of what was happening!
Lots of friendly, well trained staff that were extremely happy to help and give advice about kayaking in the ocean.
Beautiful experience! Would definitely recommend - but maybe might take some time to reattend!
Thank goodness we had the water taxi to return is what I mean!
M.
Friendly, professional efficient. Freedom kayak hire with ATK is a breeze, instruction given is excellent. The weather played ball too!
M.
We did the two day one night kayak and camp with Abel Tasman Kayak over New Years. We camped at Mosquito Bay which was equipped with unfiltered water and drop toilets. The process of getting set up and briefed by staff was smooth even though it was very busy. Tim was super helpful in getting our gear sorted and teaching kayaking techniques. Camping kit had everything we needed and kayaks were in good condition. (No pillows though) We got lucky and encountered a pod of dolphins on New Year’s Day. Best way to see the national park.
Pies and coffee at base were yummy too
S.
What a fantastic way to be introduced to Abel Tasman coastline and all too brief marine reserve. Warm and friendly team running guided tour made this a relaxing and fun way to spend a day. Big thanks to Izaak, Georgie and Skipper Gareth - best team ever!
M.
We have just had a fabulous three days kayaking, hiking, swimming and camping in an extraordinary pristine part of NZ . Wonderful scenery and excellent service from our guide and the Abel Tasman Kayak team. Highly recommend to everyone.
R.
Excellent safety briefing, loved the tandem kayak and beautiful scenery. We hired for 2hours and got to split apple rock and back in the hour and it was a little choppy too. Definitely recommend!
A.
Had a fantastic two days kayaking in the park with a group of twenty. The gear was in excellent condition. The guides were awesome, informative and fun. Very relaxing and no pressure to hurry. Beautiful part of New Zealand.
B.
Kyle was super funny giving us H & S induction, informative and not boring 👌 we had a 3 days kayak tour walk south but as the weather changed on the second day and rain was predicted we had cut our trip short and hopped on the retrieval boat from Onetahuti (3.30pm) to skip the 3rd day of walk. In these 2 days we still could see a lot. Thanks Abel Tasman kayaks heaps for unforgettable holiday !!! Everything was so easy and you are super organised.
D.
Very friendly and professional staff. Excellent service. Would highly recommend!!! Let's all support Abel Tasman Kayaks.
G.
Really pleased I booked this trip my son & I went on at the start of January. Bit of an early start to get there from Kaiuma Bay, where we were staying, by 8.15; but we made it O.k.
After a very thorough equipment and safety briefing, we loaded kayaks onto the trailer and were towed down to the beach in another trailer by a tractor.
After a quick familiarisation check we were set loose.
Most of the group were all.together; so my son and I in our double, headed straight out to Fisherman's Island. Landed, ate swam and helped scuba ladies get their tinny started
Then on to Adele Island to seal pup watch.
A couple more stops along the mainland to swim and eat on the way back.
Got back to base around 2.30pm.
All-in-all, a bloody great day
C.
Excellent company to do your Abel Tasman trip with. Lots of different trip options and staff are very knowledgeable if you're unsure about anything. We had a great time kayaking, camping gear we hired was good and facilities at base were very handy when we returned. Will definitely hire again with ATK when in Marahau.
C.
It was my first time kayaking and it was amazing. I took the shortest one since we had to run to the airport that day. We had 2 guides in this tour with 3 double kayaks in total. I really don't know how far we kayaked, but for a first timer like me, it felt so far yet I loved it! Our final stop was on the other side of the island after taking a closer look on the Split Apple. We stopped and had small picnic by the beach for 30 minutes. It is okay if you never kayak before and not sure if you can, the guide will help. I will definitely go there again and do the longer tour one.
A.
Friendly and helpful staff. We did a Freedom kayak hire for a day.
Morning was slightly cloudy when we started, I'd recommend staying close to the coast and paddle up. Don't tire yourselves out as we did, we tried to paddle against the wind and realised the island looks the same and we're not moving or getting closer at all.
I'd recommend to stop at Watering Cove to stretch your legs for abit and go to the lookout point overlooking Anchorage.
Wear plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent.
M.
We booked the two day tiki tour (one day walking, one day kayaking). What a experience! Abel Tasman is beautiful - well worth the visit. The kayaking day had beautiful weather. We managed to see dolphins, seals and a penguin. Lunch was included on that day too - got a tasty sandwich, apples and a cake. As well as coffee and some energy balls.
It's a great way to see a big portion of the park and see it through different ways (walking, kayaking and the boat)
C.
Took a three day trip: kayaking up to Anchorage and then on to Tonga Quarry in the Abel Tasman National Park. Chose this company because they did not require you to kayak with a guide. 2 days Kayaking north and then one day hiking South on the Abel Tasman Walk down to Anchorage with a water taxi back to Marahau. Excellent equipment, instruction, and information (weather forecast, wind forecast, tides, etc). Be sure to clarify and write down the time of your water taxi back to Marahau
M.
Arguably one of the best day activities in NZ! Really enjoyed the full day kayak tour! Delicious vegetarian lunch: healthy but real tasty!! And what a incredible scenery!!
E.
Really enjoyed the Soul Food trip. Guide was very nice and had a lot of interesting facts to share. Small group with only 8 people. Started at 8:30 and were back at the shop around 4.
B.
We had a blast. We went when it was chilly but the sun came out and made for a great day. The kayaks were kept in good shape, the guide was awesome and the views the outstanding. We even had a seal come swimming right up to and under our kayak next to one of the small beaches.
e.
Great day on the water. Instructor good. Accommodated to our needs on schedule.
R.
Very good service and knowledgeable guide, basically have everything for kayaking.
k.
A great kayak hire/tour company. We did the 2 days kayaking, 1 day walking package. They were really open to working with us to come up with a kayaking plan that suited the weather and our level of expertise. They provide dry bags, spray jacket etc as well as all the safety equipment too
K.
Had an amazing time over new years with a HUGE crew. The team at Abel Tasman Kayaks made the admin of organising a bunch of 27 super easy. Communication was on point and nothing was too difficult to sort out. Even with the drama of Covid. 10/10 would recommend. FANTASTIC team and epic experience.
K.
The crew here is amazing and the equipment top notch. We did a 3 day park start and that was more than enough time to explore and relax aa much as we wanted between Marahau and Onetahuti.
The lightweight fiberglass kayaks are outfitted with a rudder so you fly through the water. We had ample time to hike, enjoy camp, and swim after paddling to our next destination.
Anchorage has a great grassy campsite. Bark bay another with lots of amenities. While places like Mosquito Bay and Te Pukatea are quiet and stunning. If you can, make time to hike over to Awaroa. The tidal area is magical and the lodge a great place to chill with a cold drink and a pizza.
S.
Great induction and enjoyed the morning Kayak trip plus walk back. Allow a day. Induction took about 90 minutes. Kayaking took longer than estimated but walk an hour less than the estimated 3 hours. Saw some seals, lots of blue water and great views.
Y.
Great staff, super helpful and fun, nice to talk to and made sure our experience was memorable. Great equipment, service and price! Highly recommend
J.
So stoked with the team from ATK! We were looked after far beyond expectations. As part of a group that included blind and low vision people, we were given excellent descriptions of our surroundings. Our guides enhanced the experience for individual members by findings out what each persons needs were and fulfilling them as best they could without making any feel like a burden. Its so heartening to be around people who go above and beyond to ensure their guests have an incredible time, regardless of their needs.
I would recommend Abel Tasman Kayaks to anyone who wants value for money and an experience in nature with the people to make it memorable and life changing.
Cheers Team! Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou
J.
Great company with great employees. They have lots of information about the area and safety. The only reason our trip was a little crappy was the weather but we did have one amazing day with a great beach!
W.
Great service, very helpful, easy to deal with. A wonderful part of the country. Thanks Jack and Tom.
E.
We rented the all day Freedom Kayak and we had plenty of time to explore and spent the longest watching the fur seals at Adele Island.
Found the staff professional and appreciated that they took water safety very seriously. We had a very thorough briefing of the weather and kayak conditions on the day before setting off. I would recommend these guys!
T.
Efficient drop off and collection (freedom option), friendly staff. Note: the kayak storage compartments aren't waterproof!
L.
We had a fantastic morning with Able Tasman Kayaks, going with a bunch of kayakers who were dropped off on a 3 day trip, then continued on in this awesome fast boat, to tour around the whole area. Jack gave a great commentary of the history of Able Tasman National Park and eventually dropped us off at this gorgeous beach called Observation Beach. Super professional and friendly people run this company and they went out of their way to fit us in today. From here we hiked all the way (3 hours) back to their office. Next week a group of us are coming back here to do a days kayaking with these guys. I highly recommend them.
K.
We did the 5 day kayak and walk, my second time doing this trip. Once again ATK went above and beyond right through the booking process, me needing to change dates etc and were always super helpful and friendly. Cant recommend them and this trip highly enough - gives you enough time to really see everything. and of course the park is absolutely stunning at this time of year.
Y.
3 days kayak trip was awesome! The guide Roy is very good
S.
Magical kayak, fantastic team and guides - definitely go with these guys if you are planning a kayak in the area
A.
The guide, and the boat driver were the absolute best.
Great customer service from this two!
Not so much enthusiasm from the meet and great team. If I hadn’t booked the tour in advance I would have walked somewhere else.
The location is breathtaking and riding a kayak is a blast.
There were lots of people jet-skying and boat riding that were going over our route, and creating big waves, that was stressful to manage, especially because I had never used a kayak before;
We were asked to help putting our kayak on the tractor (not a problem), then from the tractor down at the base to put it away( a bit annoying at this point) and to rinse our safety jacket and vest( very annoying, it was very cold!).
I feel that was a bit like going to a restaurant and being asked to wash dishes afterwards, that’s not my job.
Overall we had a great time and we will recommend this experience!
N.
Very Nice time paddling in the natural reserve. We got lucky, saw a lot of seals, even a blue penguin and a stingray !
Captain and guide were chatty, funny and actually you can see how much they love their job.
Quite expensive though.
A.
Had the most amazing trip on the two day classic tour. Kyle was an awesome guide who showed us lots of hidden treasures and made sure we had a great time (and were well fed!) A stunning way to experience Abel Tasman National Park, even for a non-experienced kayaker, would highly recommend ☺️
L.
Very good experience. We combined kayak with hiking into the park. Perfect!
H.
We were already super excited for this trip but all the staff including Tom and Balvir it an even better experience cheers guys!
M.
Amazing trip! Walk and kayaking. A must do trip. We finisheg with four jayak sailing!
R.
Brilliant trip and very well looked after. Thank you.
B.
Fantastic friendly service, went out of their way to ensure we got value from our 4 day kayak / hike adventure. Jack and Tom are great to talk to and know their stuff. Would recommend and would return! Amazing!
I.
We took the kayak to Adele island to see some seals and back. There was quite some wind in the morning so it took quite some effort to kayak in the morning but it was absolutely worth it.
Our instructors gave us great tips about where to go and where to stop. Pick up was very fast and easy. They even lend us some hats for the day!
Overall we had a wonderful day :)
I.
My husband and I went for the half day kayak tour. It was our first time on a kayak and it was amazing! Our guide was fun and easygoing. He told us about local history, bird life and rocks. He showed us rare birds and spotted seals. We stopped at a nice little bay where we had a swim and some delicious brownies. On the way back there was a little wind and he made us feel very safe and kept an eye on us all the time. It was a very enjoyable experience.
D.
After a very warm welcome from Rose, dog Bella and the cat, we had a comfortable stay in the lodge after a long beautiful hike ftom Torrent Bay via Anchorage beach back to Marahau.
Dieneke Oranje and Leo Hardus from Holland
s.
Pretty awesome tour. Baby seals everywhere. Great group of people and just an amazing time
A.
Wonderful experience. Great kayaks, great staff. Wonderful scenery. I would recommend this trip to everyone. There are many little stops along the way with beautiful views and wildlife. Anchorage is a great place to camp, and a great beach!
Sadly we had an issue with some bags that were supposed to be picked up, they were left on the beach in red bags as instructed and we're never picked up, the staff had someone go and fetch them for us luckily. The issue was resolved the best it could be. There appeared to be an error in tracking who they gave the red bags to and where they were supposed to be picked up. I guess something wasn't written down correctly.
After this incident, i would just advise you double and triple check with your dedicated staff member that your bags WILL be picked up.
M.
Beautiful! The Soul Food experience is an awesome way to spend the day in Abel Tasman.
A.
Great experience, very much recommend. Beautiful location, friendly and professional organisation.
C.
Excellent kayaking company, really friendly staff and some awesome day options. We saw a seal pup with it's family whilst we were out and the pup was happy to swim and play around the kayaks! Lunch was included in the day price and was really nice, the guides clearly put a lot of effort in to the business and it pays off. 100% recommend that anyone who has time in the area uses this company
M.
We went on a 1 day guided kayak tour through the remote coast. The group consisted of 8 participants and a guide, callum. The kayaking was fun and easy enough for people of all ages to participate in. We were gone the whole day, and saw numerous wild animals on and around the beaches including seals playfully chasing us. Meanwhile the guide kept us entertained with stories about the area and the Maori culture (including various prayers and playing several instruments). Overall it was a great experience and I would happily do it again.
L.
This tour was one of my highlights on the South Island! I did the Kayak & Walk tour, incl. lunch. This lunch was probably the most scenic lunch I ever had - sitting on the beach in Abel Tasman National Park. Our guide shared some interesting facts about the marine life and the park itself with us during the kayaking as well as took us to a seal colony. I can only highly recommend this activity!! THE best way to explore the park!
L.
Amazing experience on the ocean kayak tour. Saw some great wildlife including sea lions! The guides were super knowledgeable and friendly. Daryl was bags of fun and oozes passion for his work! Gareth was particularly good with my partner who suffers sea sickness and went to the extra mile to care for her. For those a bit unsure of the sea, be aware of the marketing video - other than the kayak in the lagoon it was quite choppy!!
C.
I had the absolute pleasure of going on the remote coast trip on 8 February 2019 as an early birthday present with my brother and his partner, who were visiting from the States. Our wish was to go kayaking in the Abel Tasman and to see some seals. The trip exceeded all our expectations. I was paired in the double kayak with a lovely English girl called Isla. Our guide, Josh was seriously the nicest guy. Incredibly informative, super friendly and an all round good guy.
We were taken by water taxi to the start of our paddle, which was very scenic. We were given our safety briefing, before heading out on the water. We paddled for a few hours and Josh told us about local animal and plant life, NZ history, and mythology amongst other things. Lunch was spent at a beautiful remote beach. The lunch had been made by soul cafe at Abel Tasman Kayaks and the food was amazing!! I was particular stoked with the gluten free option provided. It was all tasty, but the brownie was particularly delicious. We went for a swim in the clearest blue water I have ever seen. After lunch we had a paddle around Tonga island, which was spectacular, before paddling to Bark Bay, where we and our kayaks were collected by Justin in the water taxi. He was another super friendly guy. We had a very scenic and smooth trip back, and the water taxi was driven onto a trailer and we were towed back to base by a tractor, which added to the experience. Totally recommend Abel Tasman kayaks. Our guide Josh really made our trip.
C.
We had a great time doing this tour - our guide was excellent, making easy conversation while we glided along the beautiful coast. We were blessed with many seals along the way and the lunch was great (with fab vegan options!). Would definitely recommend.
J.
Fantastic day from start to finish.
We were taken along with our tandem kayak by water taxi to our start point and had beautiful paddle back again.
Staff were all helpful and the equipment was good.
J.
This review is a little late as did the trip in summer. But it was fun, the guides were wonderful, I took my teenage children and we were paired with some tourists who had never done anything like kayaking before. This could have been challenging but the guide made sure it all went really well, very happy to recommend anyone go, if experienced or not
M.
We had a fantastic experience with ATK. Our guide was fantastic, all the food provided (including gluten free for me) was first rate and abundant. We enjoyed the 3 day classic and saw loads of wildlife. Highly recommended company to travel with, professional, safety concious and excellent communication throughout.
D.
Highly recommend doing a full day kayak tour with these guys - despite some strong wind we had a great tour, past some beautiful coast, into lagoons, through caves and past a whole colony of seals and seal pups! Special shout out to our fantastic guide Scarlett who was very knowledgeable and charismatic, and especially for saving us when we somehow managed to capsize on the way back!
The food and drink supplied was yummy and sustained us well, and we even got to use the wind to sail back from the island.
F.
Amazing experience! Staff was very smiling, on time, pleasant and helpful. Everything was very well organized and the equipment is good quality.
We did one day kayaking and one day walking. Everything has been planned by this kayak company.
G.
Great guides, service and gear made our 4 day kayak trip into Abel Tasman park not forgettable experience. Professional but still human attitude of all employees was just another benefit. Highly recommended <3
J.
Fabulous day kayaking the Abel Tasman. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
C.
The most beautiful place on earth. Highly recommend, especially on a high tide. Seals, bird song, the most beautiful clear water and a day out kayaking with a primo lunch and swim. Nicole was a fab guide. Highly recommend Abel Tasman Kayaks to everyone. I'll be back!!
P.
We took the 2 day classic kayaking trip, which I was a bit apprehensive about as I've never done any kayaking. I needn't have worried! The kayaking instruction was great and we had a wonderful couple of days exploring the Abel Tasman park. Our guide Isaac was great - super knowledgeable, and clearly loves his job. He shared a lot of interesting information with us about Abel Tasman, the local culture and environment. We spotted lots of seals, different sorts of birds and even a couple of blue penguins. We also got to spend time on some beautiful secluded beaches. Our only regret was that we didn't book the 3 day trip. We will now be looking for more kayaking opportunities around New Zealand and beyond! Thank you Abel Tasman Kayaks and Isaac! Kia Ora :)
C.
Every single person we met from Abel Tasman Kayaks was friendly, helpful, and seemed to genuinely care about creating a positive experience for their guests.
We booked the three day, two night Tiki Tour, a combo of hiking, guided kayaking, and freedom kayaking.
Booking was a breeze. We started researching the week prior and, of course, all huts were booked, and it was quickly becoming more complicated to organize a fully independent kayak/camping trip than we had the time/energy/patience to plan. The Tiki Tour was a perfect compromise. Felt like we hit the easy button. :) And, after considering park fees, taxis, and kayak rentals, it wasn't too much more expensive.
Checking in was a breeze, and all our questions were answered. We had the yummiest coffees and packed lunch from the cafe out front. Our guide on the second day (Henry) was fantastic. Super knowledgeable and brought great energy and positive vibes to the entire day. He seems to really love what he does and has so much respect for the park.
Dropping off our kayaks was also easy as can be. We got back a bit early, and they sent a van right down to get us.
To top it all off, I had a somewhat ridiculous request (no mayo) for my packed lunch on our guided day. I saw that they all had mayo and was bummed but didn't say anything. There was plenty of other good food, and my husband ate the extra sandwich. Right after we left the beach, a boat came up with a special delivery-- my no mayo sandwich! I was all set, but it was such a nice surprise that they would go above and beyond to make sure I would have enough for lunch. You guys rock. Thanks for an awesome experience in Abel Tasman!
S.
Stunning scenery in Abel Tasman. Kayak from Observation beach, across Astrolabe Roadstead, around Adele Island back to Apple Tree Beach and onto Marahau. Numerous NZ sea lions, spotted shags, oystercatchers and a couple of Caspian terns. Entertained the whole way by our guide, Darryl, and his robust environmental anecdotes. A trip not to miss.
B.
Thanks Jack for helping organise our Abel Tasman adventure. After two wonderful days of kayaking they arranged pick up of our kayaks so we could finish the great walk to golden bay! Nicole was awesome to get us kitted, oriented, and underway. She even paddled with us for a while! Thanks guys!
A.
Very good in all respects. Our guide, Jess, was everything you could ask for, enthusiastic, patient, knowledgeable. The standard of catering was terrific, more quantity than we could manage and of an excellent standard, given one gas stove and a couple of pots. Stopped the night in a beautiful bay, good tents, slept well. Congratulations on giving my wife and I a wonderful experience.
L.
We did the Earth, Sky & Sea tour and loved the walk + swimming in beautiful beaches.
The kayak was across a lot of large expanses of open water except for the fast sprint around an island for seal spotting (awesome but weather dependant). We would have loved to kayak closer to the coastline rather than a long kayak that felt like we were just trying to get back to our start point, rather than enjoying the beauty surrounding us.
J.
Rose the owner was so friendly & helpful. We loved her passion for the area. She gave us lots of great tips for exploring & also gave us a wonderful Christmas discount off the room rate. Rose also helped us with our washing. Stunning views of the Abel Tasman National park from our cabin. Would definitely stay there again & highly recommend it to friends and family. A very unique, smooth and rewarding experience.
- ATK without any hassle changed our wrongly pre-booked trip to the correct one.
- Provided us a tent for free.
- Gave us a very detailed and interactive introduction to kayaking as well as safety instructions.
- A water taxi ride was included in the price. In practice, a driver Craig provided us an awesome guided tour around Abel Tasman seaside area including seal watching. Finally, our boat was boarded on a tractor, which is a cool experience itself.
- Last, but not least, the area has everything that backpackers need after a 5 day hike: showers, food, coffee and Wi-Fi.
j.
Great service, nice kayaks, reasonably flexible. They did help us a bit with the planning too and offer a safe spot to park your car. I would recommend to book everything with them (water taxi and campgrounds) to make things easier. Also, the "induction" takes forever.
J.
This trip was excellent. We had a great guide. Price good too though maybe five bucks more than a couple of the competitors. All much of a muchness overall re competitors. Just book with whoever has the package you want! If you do use ATK make sure you get a coffee and energy ball thing from soul food!
C.
We did the 3 day tour (2 day kayak, 1 day hike). Communication was pretty bad from the time we arrived until we left. Our accommodation changed twice. The boat operators made up for their bad communication and made sure that we landed at the right spots. Our kayak guide for the second day was awesome though. He was fun, knowledgeable and easy going. Thus 3 stars versus 1.
A.
One of the best experiences I have ever had. They start the day teaching you everything and then you get to explore Abel Tasman and it's an extremely fun and enjoyable day. Get a hat and sunscreen if during summer. You will get sunburnt otherwise.
Got to see seals swimming around our kayaks.
An unforgettable experience.
C.
A bit pricy, but they do deliver on what they promise. Our kayaking experience was fantastic. Our instructor Cecelia gave us a good walkthrough and great advice for where to go. We got to visit some amazing beaches and even got to see the sea lions. With this kind of flexibility you really get close to nature and create your own experience.
A.
Super professional, assessed competency of people on a rough weather day and put in the extra distance of accompanying others, less experienced, in the group to their destination. They trusted us to get on with it, and then all transfers and pick ups were flawless. Amazing trip!
G.
This place is amazing. We had such a great time. Coaching was done effectively and pick up was quick after we finished.
P.
Well run company. We did the Earth, Sea, Sky trip which was an unguided 1/2 day walk, delicious packed lunch provided followed by a 1/2 day guided kayak back to Marahau. Although expensive, about $190 it was a fun day. Our guide, Mowgli” ?Belvin for the kayaking was awesome. Full of great energy and lots of fun. Lunch was a vego salad roll, a slice of cake, piece of fruit and a couple of energy balls. All made up fresh! Thanks
T.
Incredible experience one of the best of my life that I will always rememberer. Great training, facilities, transport, communication and equipment . Our friend missed her flight and when she turned up these guys got her sorted double time and brought her out to out camp site. Amazing service!
J.
Great tour with this company. My guide Amo was amazing. He knew a lot about the area. We had a nice lunch and hiked back. Great day, five plus star for this one
H.
Amazing experience! The guy guide was excellent.
R.
Unforgettable experience for New Year.
Untouched nature, landscape as at the best post card, all needed facilities at camp site.
Morning with birds outside tent and ocean on front of the tent - something essential!
Kindly recommended.
P.
We loved our trip - kayak for 2 hours, a delicious lunch then a 3 hour walk back. Sip our guide was brilliant, very informative but made it fun too :) Highly recommend thanks Emma, Jan & Kat
P.
Hired kayaks for an unguided afternoon in this wonderful park. Kayaks were great, staff and training exceptional, and just a wonderful experience to work with. Saw tons of wildlife!
M.
One of the best experiences we had in NZ! Staff was super friendly and awesome, and the scenery was gorgeous. And the lunch that came with the tour was legitimately amazing.
S.
Had a delightful day, for the most part. But be aware they will switch trips on you, the lunch was mostly a sandwich with a few vegs and mostly bread, and the lunch stop is not the gorgeous beach in the video (guess that has become very popular).
J.
The best, guides very knowledgeable and had a fabulous day out kayaking and sailing.
I.
Hi there.. we booked a day trip on 25th January for a Kayak and walk with lunch. The whole experience , from the phone booking, to the arrival and greeting, the preparation for the day, the kayaking , seals and all, the lunch and the walk was amazing. Every part of the day, you and your guides went the extra 'mile with a smile', everything was easy and no rush .. just super impressed and proud to be NZ ers ..
even the lunch was handled with care and ensuring those with particular diets were satisfied.
The icing on the cake was our guide Josh.. hey buddy, you were fantastic, smile, information, engagement, laughs .. you had it all generous.. you so emplified your companies image.
Congratulations .. Go Able Tasmen Kayaks ..
Ylia, Ian and Anjamo.

Amazing kayaking program. Their system and setup takes care of everything and the guide we had was able to make our trip in the face of poor weather. Would and probably will book with them again.
N.
I took the kayak and walk tour. Lovely scenery, got to see seals, sting rays. We had a small picnic at the end of the kayak. The walk back to the marahau is beautiful. Make sure to do the cleopatra pool. It adds 6 more kms , but its totally worth.
F.
Awesome adventure, guides walk you through everything. Kayaks hold mounds of gear - five days worth. Great park, had a great time with friends and family.
T.
If you are thinking about kayaking and are not sure which company to pick, this is the one! There's a reason the price is a bit more because this operation is slick and the staff are impeccable at delivering on the trips advertised keep in mind that the weather can affect your trip and that is not the guides fault they will always try and do their best with the conditions at hand, if you come with a great attitude you will not be disappointed, highly recommended activity .

(Translated) I took 2 days in a free kayak, no regrets, $ 200 spent without fear. The kayaks, the equipment, a tent, the camp, the advice, the return by water taxi, everything was perfect. We have or see lots of animals, seals among others, birds by the hundreds, and even a penguin.
To do absolutely!

(Translated) The further you get behind the National Park, the more beautiful. The front stand is already very busy and touristy. Great hike. Kayak is also wonderful there

Je weiter hinter man in den National Park kommt, umso schöner. Die vorderen stand sind schon sehr voll und touristisch. Tolle Wanderung. Kayak ist auch wundervoll dort

(Translated) Extremely competent and friendly instruction. High quality equipment. Comfortable transport of kayaks to the water and back. The landscape is great and the best to explore from the water. We started the training at 8:15 am, 10:15 am then we had to leave the kayaks again at 4 pm. In between we had enough time to explore both islands and 2 hours on the beach.
(Original)
Äußerst kompetente und freundliche Einweisung. Hochwertiges Equipment.

(Translated) We rented a kayak for a two-day tour, got a great instruction and perfect equipment.
Since on the second day because of too strong wind kayaking was not possible, we were even refunded a part of the cost.
In addition, after the tour you have the opportunity to enjoy a warm shower and use the free Wi-Fi.
The price was adequate for the performance and accordingly I can definitely recommend the rental!
(Original)

(Translated) The Abel Tasman park is really worth it. You have a 54-kilometer trail that runs all the way along the coastline and where you can see the golden beaches. The path runs through woody areas with beautiful vegetation. If you take good care of your eyes, you will encounter all kinds of birds and animals. The downside is that it is a very famous path where many backpackers can be found in high season. If you have several days, then I definitely recommend going on a stretch of the path.
(Original)
C.
(Translated) A bit expensive, but the kayaking trip is definitely worth it. Also included is a great sandwich, fresh fruit, brownies and drinks. The guide (Josh) was world class.
