Puke Ariki i-site and museum showcases informative and interactive exhibits about the early inhabitants of the place, the wildlife and the history of Mt. Egmont Volcano. It is worth the visit if you like to have a glimpse of Taranaki’s fascinating history.

A very nice new-looking clean building. It was an unexpected visit for us and spontaneous decision to go in there. There's an info centre, gift shop and a museum like gallery on the second floor which surprised us as it was very modern and had some interactive features. Although small, it was still a good place to look into.

Lots of gift and souvenirs. Bright and interesting store. Went in to book Intercity bus. Smaller stock numbers than Nelson. Asked if they stocked possum skin and fibre products. No they don't. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Stopped in before they closed to get some information on hiking trails. Tracy was incredibly rude and condescending to talk to and get information from. I misspoke on the names of a few things and she became more difficult to speak with and get helpful information from. Not a great first impression, will ask more questions at my hostel.

Best visitor centre i have been to in my time in NZ. So much history, such great experiences and a helpful guiding staff.

We did a historic walking tour of the city centre with Mike, who was a wonderful tour guide. Walking around and learning about the history of New Plymouth with a local was a great way to learn more about the conflicts and people that made New Zealand what it is today.

Fantastically relevant. Good information service from staff, great coffee in the cafe, and a stream of high quality exhibits. Currently, a "full scale model" of Jules Verne's Nautilus, which traveled all those leagues under the sea. Our grandchildren visit repeatedly and never tire of it.

Note only a i-Site, can find kind of a museum about birds, Maori history and prehistoric animals. Very interesting and peaceful. Free clean toilets.

Very helpfully thanks ...booked my bus ticket back to Hasting no trouble. Not like on Wotif grrr they even booked the wrong day then I had trouble cancelling and rebooking. So glad to do it at information centre .

Friendly, caring and knowledgeable staff. Well set up facility in a modern clean building. A little difficult to find the entrance. We'll stocked with local brochures.
