O.It was amazing! Big thank you to David, our skipper and host for his patience and hospitality. We motored to the carving place, viewed it and had a nice swim in the lake. While sailing back, we viewed a stunning sunset, and everyone felt warm because of the blankets provided. Pizza and drinks was a nice bonus.
T.We had a wonderful Saturday lunchtime trip on Kindred Spirit 2 weeks ago! Dave and Jess (the owners) were so welcoming, informative and friendly telling us all the facts about the Lake and the Maori Carvings. They did very well getting us up close to the carvings three times to really appreciate all the intricate details. Lovely spot for swimming and the pizza & drink were a real treat! Getting to steer on the way back was an added bonus! Thanks guys and keep up the great work. Would highly recommend this company to everyone 👍😊
S.We were lucky enough to be able to experience a lunch trip. We were booked in on another activity in Taupo which was cancelled at fairly short notice and the crew at Taupo Sailing Adventures were able to accommodate us at short notice. We were so happy that we missed out on the other activity to be able to enjoy the sailing trip with pizza, drinks a relaxed and fun crew, an amazing long swing and knowledge of the area and a laugh on the way back. It exceeded our expectation by far and highly recommend anyone to do this trip. Excellent value for money, professional and responsive. Thank you very much for a great afternoon.
A.I planned a surprise trip to Taupo for my partner and I am so glad that I made this a part of it. Our skipper David (and owner I believe) was so lovely and welcoming, we were greeted with pizza, drinks and laugh. Even though it was pouring with rain for half of it, there was wet weather gear, blankets and plenty of shelter. We still managed to see the captivating rock carvings and what the sky let us see of the sunset. Well worth the money and time! I believe it is family run and Covid has been hard hitting for businesses like this who rely on tourists.
Support these lovely people and their awesome business and have a really beautiful evening.

S.We booked the lunch cruise and had iffy weather but turned out really nicely. Skipper made an effort to get the boat in the right spot with the wind to use the sails. Gave us plenty of time at the carvings, then had a great 20min swim in a little bay. Was very easy going, unrushed and nicely done with bean bags, drinks and pizza and a friendly crew. Highly recommended.
M.We booked a private charter with them for a birthday party which was well managed from the time of booking. The ride and the hospitality on board were both enjoyable and we’d definitely be returning for another sailing trip. Dave did an excellent job maneuvering choppy waters and bonded very well with the kids on board.

S.Such good value for money. Highly suggest the lunch time pizza and wine tour. The cruise along the lake for 3 hours is awesome. The beanbags and blankets make this so enjoyable in the winter. The captain was so funny and had some good stories to share.
S.We were lucky enough to go out on the lake on a really hot, clear and calm day, and it was a highlight of our time in Taupo. It's about 1 hour to the carvings, but en route you're served drinks and pizza and enjoying the views.
The carvings themselves are really cool, and the skipper told us quite a bit about them. We then stopped the boat and went swimming for around 30 minutes, which was amazing! The water was so clear and even when it was deep you could see right to the bottom. We managed to catch a breeze on the way back so sailing for just over an hour was really peaceful. Thanks for a great afternoon!

M.Nice morning trip (2.5h) to the rock carvings, whereby more is driven under machine than under sails (we had no wind though). The skipper makes the tour very entertaining and informative. In the morning you are quite alone at the rock carvings but the light is not optimal either.
o.A sensational, intimate way to see the beautiful carvings. The crew were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and caring, going out of their way to ensure that everyone on board had a comfortable cruise. Thank you David & Jess. The personal touches and unexpected extras were a bonus. Don’t be put off by bad weather. Just rug up and enjoy the ride. The scenery is stunning and impressive.
A Taupo must do!!!
A.Went with the whole family and had a wonderful day. I recommend going this way it was a much better experience. Last time I went on a charter and it was overcrowded and everyone struggled to get their pictures of the rock carvings but on the Fearless Sail boat this wasn't an issue at all. Beautiful took the whole family and grandma. We will do it again. Pizza was really good and so was the beer. We got to jump off the boat and go for a swim. We loved it.

With beer and pizza it was an idilic afternoon out across the lake to the carvings followed ba a refreshing swim in the lake.
The Maori rock carvings were interesting but definitely not ancient history having been carved a few years back.
C.We had the most incredible time on the Kindred Spirit! Captain Dave did an amazing job making sure all 15 ladies had a great time. We had some wind, meaning we could sail which was an wonderful experience. We ate pizza, drank gin, danced and even got to swim. Organising the trip was easy with Jess. She was responsive and informative . I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. This was an amazing hens do activity. Thank you so much!!

B.Such a lovely experience, a highlight in a very busy sightseeing trip. Dave was so friendly, knowledgable, and laid back which made the trip a delight. Cheap for the experience, food and drinks provided. The lake is so amazing to swim in, but the pace of the trip is lovely and unhurried so we were able to get a good swim in. Views of the lake just absolutely stunning. Dave looked to sail whenever the wind allowed (not a very windy day) to maximise our experience. Highly recommend.
P.We loved this trip. Such a good price for the experience. It was a comfortable ride, they provided pizza, drinks, bean bags and blankets. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming which is really refreshing. The carving is also beautiful. We went on the sunset cruise at 6.30 pm and would definitely recommend.
B.This was a truly fantastic experience. From the beginning, David the Skipper was incredibly friendly and jovial. He clearly enjoys what he does, especially the sailing part. Throughout the trip, David provided fantastic facts and tidbits about Lake Taupo, the carvings, Maori culture, and more. The complimentary drinks and pizza were an added bonus. This excursion did not feel commercial. It was very relaxed. It did not feel like there was a set time table, just "go with the flow" (and wind!). I would highly recommend Sail Fearless to anyone wanting a great experience on Lake Taupo and would certainly be a return customer myself.

N.Had a fantastic time with Sail Fearless. We set sail at 12:30pm and were lucky enough to have a clear, warm and sunny day. David & Jess were great hosts, the sailing was smooth, we had a small and pleasant group, the food and drinks were great on the way out to the carvings (pizza and your choice of drinks - beer, wine, water, soft drinks). David kept us up to date on the history of the area and facts about Lake Taupo on the way to and from the carvings, which were around 45-60 minutes away. We had plenty of time to relax, see the carvings, swim in Taupo for around 30 minutes and it was a highlight of our trip.

A.Sail with Dave and Jess. It will be well worth your time, I promise. We came with the whole family and it was great. On the trip, you'll see the Maori rock carvings, astounding views across lake Taupo to Tongariro and Ruapehu, enjoy a beautiful sunset, some drinks and food and great company. The kids had a blast exploring the boat. This experience was HIGHLY worthwhile.

E.Great experience and a perfect way to reach the carvings. The pizza and beer were an added bonus! The skipper was very knowledgeable and very skilled when it came to rough seas,and lots of coats to stop us getting soaked! Not suitable for very young children but for over 5s a great adventure😊
L.Thoroughly enjoyed the 3-hour boat tour with Dave and Jess. Very friendly people, with lots of interesting stories to relate and information to share. It's worth mentioning that it takes a fair amount of multitasking for the skipper, to be at once guiding the yacht to its intended destination, interacting with the guests and handing out food and drink. So the best way to have a good time is to interact with the crew (even if it is just one person!) and fully involve yourself in the onboard goings-on! Definitely on my list of "must re-do" activities for the next time I'm in Taupo. Save travels. (Luke)

T.Great experience despite the rain. The skippers were really friendly and good information. Make sure you are there 10 mins early as they don't wait which is great for everyone who is there. The trip is about 2.5 hours with good banter with other lake users on the way round. The ship is really good with pirate things for the kids to play with below deck if it gets too cold for them. You get up close to the Maori carvings and if weather is good enough you can go for a swim as well. Recommend a visit.
W.This cruise is great, a real chill few hours on a sail boat. When we went out the weather was fantastic the lake is beautiful, generous amounts of pizza handed out (pretty sure it's Dominos) and a couple of beers. The skipper was super friendly, would definitely recommend if you're in taupo.
K.I had a great time on this beautiful boat! You get a totally different sight on Lake Taupo and learn a lot about its history. Jessi and Dave are lovely people and I'm even thinking about booking another trip for tomorrow.

C.I booked this as a gift or my parents and a couple of their friends for a significant birthday and it was perfect in every way!! Dave and Jess were easy to deal with, very responsive to requests and the perfect hosts onboard too!
R.This really was a highlight of our trip. Such an amazing spot! We were lucky enough to get great weather and Chrystal clear water. It was warm so we swum and it was amazing. Great crew... plus pizza and beers. All just a bit too much really do it!

R.Our family had an absolute blast sailing on the "Fearless." It was obvious the Captain knew what he was doing - we out-sailed all the other boats on the water while also dodging a lot of choppy stuff that others seemed to run into. We had a 2 year old and a 4 year old with us and they both did great and enjoyed it. We highly recommend sailing on the Fearless!
A.The boat is lovely. The lake is beautiful. I'd love to hear more about the culture and history rather than about the big wigs that live there, the costs of their houses and the fancy finishes inside their homes.

A.A must-do if you're in Taupo. For 40 each you get a stunning sailing experience in a volcanic crater (lake Taupo), a few drinks and get to see some impressive Maori carvings (no biggie). We even got to jump into the cool refreshing lake. The crew were exceptionally hospitable, friendly and a joy to spend two hours with.

very nice ship and with a skipper very very nice! I chose the 12:30 am excursion and enjoyed a good pizza in the sun, in the middle of Lake Taupō and a local beer. We did several tours to take pictures of Maori's rock carvings from every possible angle. Unfortunately it rained a lot when returning to the bank but several k-ways were available to us and the skipper even offered to come back for free on a sunny day.

très beau navire et avec un skipper très très agréable ! J'ai choisi l'excursion de 12h30 et ai pu déguster une bonne pizza au soleil, au milieu du lac de Taupō ainsi qu'une bière locale. Nous avons fait plusieurs tour pour prendre en photo les Maori's rock carvings sous tous les angles possibles. Malheureusement il a beaucoup plu lors du retour vers la berge mais plusieurs k-way étaient à notre disposition et le skipper nous a même proposé de revenir gratuitement lors d'un jour ensoleillé.
