Great location to explore Thames. Beautifully set campground, quite and lovely grounds. Toilet and showers retro but spotless clean. We did the DOC walk next to the park entrance great views, well sign posted definitely need proper shoes for it. The owner’s were very welcoming.

Absolutely amazingly well kept authentically kiwi traditional Holiday Camp enjoyed by my family over the years. Caravan and non-powered tent sites were clean and inviting. A popular venue that is full over the Christmas and New Years period. Steve is an amazing site manager who is friendly and informative. Cindy in the office is an absolute gem to deal with bookings and is easy to communicate with. Happy New Year Camp crew, I'll be seeing you all soon. Appreciate your hard work team.

Spent a lovely quiet night here in one of the little cabins, which had everything you'd want to make some simple food, and there's the kitchen block with ovens for more elaborate meals. Friendly and helpful manager, swimming pool, tennis court and kid's playground. Only slight drawback was a time limit on internet usage but it was long enough for me

Another awesome stay at Dickson's Holiday Park 27/12 to 03/01 - Neil, Cindy and Steve are always accommodating and go out of their way to make our stay totally enjoyable. I feel for them having to deal with unruly, feral, intimidating people that turn up to create havoc, you guys rocked at dealing with the losers and when the police trespassed them the relief was felt throughout the camp!! We have booked more stays with you as we always do 😊 Thankyou for allowing us to enjoy your slice of paradise - highly recommend staying at Dickson's Holiday Park

Friendly staff. Peaceful place to be. I go to stay their when I have work In Thames. Pool is refreshing. River amazing. Love spending a few day there. 💯 recommended.

A gorgeous little camp set in the trees beside a stream. Facilities were great. Only thing was we were threatened by the campowner shooting our cat if he saw him. We won't be going back here because of this alone. The place is up for sale though.

Fantastic place to stay. Surrounded by bush and native bird song. So relaxing. Very central. Thoroughly recommend.

Ok camping, but getting a bit old, showers $1 for 5 minutes, lights that will turn off automatically even tho you're in the shower (and obviously cannot come outside your shower to turn it on), and lights in the common area automatically turn itself off at 21h50 ! (Nice and quiet camping, but a bit expensive for what it is, since you'll pay same price than pretty much any other camping ! )

One night stay on a powered motorhome site in June 2021. Rained most of the day & night. Ablution block tired & path to it uneven. Take torch at night. Park like setting quiet & would be good in summer.

Staying at Dickson’s Park was quite peaceful and we enjoyed the wildlife and location. Staff is lovely. Not sure about the cleaning though. On our arrival there was a dead moth stuck on the walls and heaps of dead mosquitos all over the floor. Overall it was nice.

Tucked away from the busy road, nestled below a big hill is where the camp peacefully located. Immaculate communal kichen was very impressive with hygiene and everything in the place. A pool, a milking cow, a walk on the hill, very helpful staff. It was a perfect spot for us.

We have done a lot of travelling and we were really impressed by this place. Heaps of on site things to keep kids entertained and the staff we encountered were so friendly. The only reason we aren't giving five stars, is because the floors unfortunately hadn't been vaccumed. This was the only tiny little flaw. Thanks for a great stay!

Had a really good time at Dickson holiday park during new years. Liked the 10:00 cerfue, made sure I slept well, need to repair the mini golf course tho, couldn't really compete on a wonky, bumpy golf course. Still fun tho.

Just an OKAY holiday park. We had a 6-bed dorm which was tolerable not for more than 2-3 days. Three main reasons that I'm giving 3 stars are: 1. A sign put at an avacoda tree: "don't steal our avocados!" Which was quite rude to the guests. 2. The complimentary internet access was just 30 min and we had to pay for the additional internet access. 3. The couch in the dorm was good for nothing. When you sit on it you can't easily get out! But the location, view, and atmosphere were good.

Good facilities to use at the park, the cabins are basic but very comfortable beds. I always find it a bit weird having to pay for a shower, it's $1 for 5 minutes!! So make sure u bring cash 👍🏾😊

Love this place. We arrived late in the evening. Keys were left out for us. Our room was very nice. We had our own bathroom and there was a TV. Lovely decor. We had a small verandah with a vine creeping along. Surrounded by Bush, just beautiful. There's a swimming pool surrounded by nice gardens. We both want to go back here as we didn't get to stay and feel we would love to stay again. Oh and air conditioning as well.

Great spot, friendly owners, everything you need for a great stay, cool clean river to check out including a great pool for those hot summer days. Facilities very clean. Thanks really enjoyed our stay.

I am an inveterate traveler (aren't we all?) and have stayed in many "holiday parks", in many different countries. But, without a doubt, Dickson's is the best of the lot. It''s located in a bosky dell, verdant, tranquil and quiet. Good facilities including a nicely maintained swimming pool, very close to the seashore, within easy walking distance to the small town of Thames. Oh, and very cooperative and friendly managers and staff. Great stopover for tourists and holidaymakers. My thumbs-up. Absolutely.

A remarkable experience of vintage campers and friendly faces. The facilities are impeccably clean and the grounds are well kept. The trail hike is fantastic but certainly advanced.

All the facilities you need, kid friendly and neat. The place is well looked after great for camping or a short stay in bungalows or cabins. The general toilets and shared bathroom ammenities could use a upgrade.

3 star as was only a phone call to see if they accommodate my situation. They only could if you have your own sleeping van, bus etc not in there's, which is understandable.

It's good. Spacious and all required to have a relaxing holiday. I would suggest though they try and upgrade the bathrooms/showers a bit. The mens toilets unfortunately smelled like urine always.

Very nice stay here at Dickson's. Cindy and Neil park owners were very hospitiable and friendly. I enjoyed my stay there over 3 months. Thanks for making feel welcomed

Lovely little campsite, has everything you could ask for, phone signal is bad in this area but you can buy wifi for 24 hours unlimited for $5. Has a pool, great kitchen with all appliances and kitchenware, free use of bbqs too. Close to the beach and great place to watch the sunset. 5 mins drive from Thames centre with lots of shops and cafes and bars. Perfect location, showers you have to pay for $2 for 5 mins. Nice quite campsite.

We stayed at Dicksons Kiwi Holiday Park for two nights in two of their caravans, we felt welcomed with friendly hosts and staff, lovely surroundings with lots of birdsong, very clean facilities, a fantastic playground and there is even a pool to cool off in. Highly recommend this holiday park, as a relaxing get-away or as a break from a long trip and will definitely return for another stay.

Great place to stay, our caravan suited us perfectly. My children loved the playground and spent time in the pool. Great facilities and good for families. Thanks for a great stay!

Nice campground good facilities

Noeline and Wally(?) delightful people and keep a very tired environment extremely clean. $81 per night for a basic caravan with very basic annex very steep compared with other sites we have stayed at that had far better amenities in the living space - also, would've been good to have showers that didn't phase in and out of boiling hot to cold, or were reduced to a dribble while using. Treed environment nice but we wouldn't stay again. Good for families with pool and play room etc for kids. Or camper vanners. Viv McGowan

Nice, big complex. Amenities are great and the staff are super friendly. Best part about the campground is their pool!

A wonderful place for families, with swimming pool, safe river, challenging walks, adults TV room, games room, and fabulous accomodation, in a tranquil bush setting. It is still being further developed, so expect even greater things. Of course I really HAVE to say all that - my brother and sister-in-law own and run it! But, really, it is great.

Fabulous secluded place to stay. Staff are fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. RECOMMENDED

Stayed in one of the Caravans. A swim in the river is a must. Fantastic holiday park in a great location and a great option for a weekend away.

This place is for the kids not us old pensioners. But the chalker that my daughter had was nice but I wasn't keen on our accommodation. Like I said it's good for the young ones. Still enjoyed it though.

I booked the dorm on a backpacking tour for a day hike on Coromandel. The Rocky Trial right next to the campsite is a great for 2-3 hours, but you can also do a greater hike to Thames (about 6-8 hours). Facilities are rather old, but well maintained and very clean. The whole park is very quiet, Thames with some entertainment is in about 4 km distance.

We were there without a Car and only with a tent, so ist was a Bit expensive. Toilets and showers are Clean and in good condition. If you have an Car i can recommend this place

Enjoyed our stay in a newly refurbished self contained unit. Clean, fresh and pretty. Close enough to town for the Steampunk Event it suited us perfectly.

Cool place to stay along the coast close to town but just on the outskirts. All the facilities are tidy and they have a nice kitchen. Great place to watch the sunset just down the road.

Arrived early at the Dickson Park Holiday Camp, where we have a nice grassy pitch and not a lot around us. Today is a washing day, the site’s Maytag machine is loaded and 4 dollars inserted. None of this eco wash, this one is over and done in 35 minutes. Except there was a tissue somewhere in the wash. Oops. Somehow, I suspect it was my fault, but I won’t confess. Drying took two goes.

Nice quiet place by the stream in which you can swim. Cell coverage is poor. Nice walk starts next to park.

Accessible to large Motorhomes, clean and well presented with lots of extras. Lovey parking by the river, very peaceful.

Peaceful. Lots of birdlife. Older style Campground but clean and tidy. Lovely gardens. Will be back.

A family favourite, especially for young children. There's a creek near by and the have a pool, one end being shallow enough for younger children. There's even a playground

Beautiful environment, little outdated camp site and facilities. Quite expensive, also regarding 5 minute showers for 1 dollar and just little Mb Wi-Fi

Sheltered from the storms. Let the holiday spirit partner with you and head out into the wilds. But return to the camp and cozy up for the night in a secluded site. The storms of life will slip away. The Stars will shine, and you'll note the ridge line where the trees are topped by the lights off the heavens. Unpowered site, with a few mossies. Deepe them away.

What a beautiful place . Lots of trees and gardens and a river running down beside it. Great showers with lots of hot water . And a swimming pool . A bush walk starting right at the camp and Glow worms on the side of the road

Owners are nice. Good place to stay overnight if you want to save by sleeping in your car. Shared kitchen and shower area.

Average campsite, staff were nice. WiFi only at reception and TV lounge areas, it wouldn't work on our pitch.

Great camp site to keep young ones entertained site includes a pool,mini golf,tennis court,bushwalks and a near by river, only downside was the tent site I was provided with couldn't hammer the tent pegs in due to a lots of stones

Didn't stay here, just stopped off for the butterfly Gardens and was really impressed with the cleanliness of the shower blocks. Seems to have lots to do and includes a swimming pool.

Nice and clean units with everything you would need. Needs a little attention to the decor but I could see that the managers were starting on this. Facilities were great, nice and clean

Wonderful park. I stayed in one of their lodges. It was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and had excellent facilities.

Lost my keys in the track next to them. Ordered me the right person to open the car and restored my keys the next day. You are a life saver.

Nice relaxing place to stay, if only it wasn't for all the rules that doesn't quite make sense. Curfew on new years eve was 12:30. Very disappointing.

The facilities are alright. The price is somewhat steep for what you get. Showers cost a doller. Wifi is limited.

Lovely and beautiful camp. Went in Jan 2019. So isolated, yet so flourishing with wildlife.

They even have budgie here and an outdoor swimming pool which is essential so you can cool off in the hot climate.

Unfortunately the showers cost extra (every 5 minutes of showering), which annoyed us because a parking space for the night, no matter when you arrive - costs 20 dollars. The wifi hardly works at all. (Original) Freundlicher Besitzer und ruhiger Platz für die Nacht. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Die Gebäude und Ausstattung war sehr alt, aber sauber. Leider kosten die duschen extra (pro 5 Minuten duschen), was uns geärgert hat da ein Stellplatz für die Nacht, egal wann man ankommt - 20 dollar kostet. Das WLAN funktioniert so gut wie gar nicht.
