Reviews of Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries - Wellington
D.
The best crossing I have ever had, took the 2am crossing and it hardly felt like the ship was moving. Easy embarking and disembarking from the vehicle deck. Well done Bluebridge
D.
Level 3 so restricted travel. Ferry was delayed so had to wait 1 and 1/2 hours. Wasn't much places to sit and was told not to sit in the "truckers" area, even though we had been previously been sitting there for most of the trip. Overall trip was good
E.
Comfortable trip, helpful staff on board to direct you to the parking spaces, friendly staff both on board and on land!
C.
1st time ever I actually booked a cabin. What a luxury that turned out to be. Comfiest bed I've slept in. Was able to sleep despite a broken back rib. Beding was warm. Meal was outstanding. $17 = 3xlamb chops, chips & salad. Chops so tender they melted in your mouth. Wine nice but at $11 a glass too expensive. Service by staff excellent. Very enjoyable trip. Christina 🌹

This was my first time using Bluebridge for a ferry from Wellington to Picton and return. I was charged $458 for myself and a mate along with my car (a standard Audi a4 sedan). This was for both ways and we booked only 48 hours before our trip with a long weekend coming up so the prices are pretty good. The ride was pretty comforting and hassle free. They also have an in house cafe where the food and beverages served are pretty good for the price. Although the toilets appeared to be well maintained, they were stinking of a wierd smell. There were some parts of the ship which I feel could've been better presented. I could see rusting on some corners of the window panes and also some parts didn't seem to have been painted etc in a long time. Also, on our way back from Picton to Wellington, we were made to wait inside our car in a queue for a very long time without any notice etc. There was a massive delay and it was not even a busy weekend night or whatever. Overall, pretty decent and economical for a short 4 hours trip I'd say. Staff members are friendly and overall customer service is good. Does the job okay.
F.
Recently used their service both sides of our trip to south. Convenient booking options with good price just need to improve the availability of private cabins.
v.
I cannot rave enough about Bluebridge customer service. It is second to none!
The booking team are responsive, polite, friendly and genuinely so very helpful.
Thank you very much for valuing me as a customer - I make it a priority to book our Cook Strait crossing with Bluebridge
C.
Loved the trip across to picton on a beautiful day. Good services available, clean toilets and seating areas etc
L.
Just the right amount of passengers on the freight vessel to feel safer during these times. Sanitation stations throughout public areas and well managed.
Decent cafe with a cooked meals available. 👍
K.
Nothing particularly good nor bad, primarily a transport service between the North and South islands. There are various parts of the ship where you can choose to spend the 3.5 hours or so on each trip. Some seating with USB charging ports are available near the coffee bar. Food prices are reasonable, similar to cafe prices. Best part of the journey is at both ends, in the Sounds and Wellington harbour, if it's your first time, have your camera ready!
B.
First time crossing the strait and it was great. Pretty easy to get on and off with a caravan. Next time I sail I will definitely get a cabin for the kids, the smaller of the two boats has a very small family area that only fits a handful of kids so if you have very young ones they will get a little restless. There are rows of 3 seats facing eachother which are great for family’s. The deck and outdoor area feels very safe with young kids so make sure you go outside and take the view in. Good selection of food and beverages which are a tad expensive but that is to be expected
A.
We caught the ferry with our dog tagging along. We left her in one of the assigned crates and had a wonder around the ship. Staff helped us setting her up with some water!
We caught a 7.15pm fare and it left on perfect time and arrived even 10/15 minutes earlier than scheduled in Wellington.
We had dinner in the cafe and it was a delicious kai!! My partner had the kiwi burger, cooked to perfection and I had the fish and chips and it was the best I had in a while. Very impressed with the food and very friendly front of the house young man behind the till taking our order.
Overall all staff was helpful, professional and friendly. We are very happy with our trip and will be looking at bluebridge for future travels in between the islands.
T.
As first time ferry users, we found it very easy to get our vehicle on and off. Food on board was great and staff were very friendly.
j.
Nice sailing, clean boat, plenty of seating easy load on and off on both outward and return sailings. One of their vessels is more geared to truckers, but I actually preferred this one. Highly recommend grabbing a cabin if you doing a late night sailing, clean and comfortable
K.
Super friendly staff, really like Bluebridge, they are so much better than the other lot. Highly recommend to anyone to use Bluebridge. The price of tickets are really good as well .
K.
Everything about the sailing this morning from Wellington to Picton has been great from checking, boarding, on board and arriving. This is my first time on Blueridge.
J.
Staff were super friendly, while some aspects of boat are looking a bit tired (seat fabric worn) the boat was pleasant to be on and I enjoyed relaxing in private cabin.
D.
Had a beautiful calm trip on the Bluebridge to Picton, thankyou to the Bluebridge Staff.
Happy New year 😊👌
C.
Check in was quick and easy although I think they need to improve the toilet facilities, having unisex toilets is always quite gross and sliding doors don't offer much privacy. The ferry itself was good although seating areas for single travellers needs to be improved as there was literally nowhere to sit aside from the booming TV room or the restaurant (which takes up space for others that want to eat) as people had spread themselves all over the 6 seater areas including all their bags etc and the double seaters and literally never moved an inch so I had outside to sit and that was it.
L.
Wonderful efficient and helpful staff who know their jobs and have the right training. Very pleased with every crossing we made with Bluebridge. Recommend.
V.
Beautiful start to my dae. Blessed with a cabin on board. Good coffee. Stunning dae to travel the Cook Strait. Thumbs up for bluebridge Ferries😊👍🍒
N.
Mitigated opinion about this company. Took the ferry from Picton to Wellington in Jan 2020. Morning and afternoon spots were booked up, so we had to opt for the 7:00pm departure. The confirmation mail tells you that the check-in closes at 6:00pm, but even half an hour after that time, we still weren't boarding, instead baking in our cars or hanging outside with the dear sandflies.
The boarding is well organized with helpful staff. There is a lot of space onboard and it is possible to go outside to get a nice view (back side). Also a TV room, tables, and a bar with - slightly overpriced - food and drinks. Males toilet has a soap dispenser featuring the label "luxury soap", which I found made this 200$ crossing worth it.
At 11:30pm I was still in my car waiting for getting of the boat. I guess they were just late on departure thus late on arrival, but I was hoping to go to bed around midnight and not 1:00am.
Still, the cheapest of the two companies as far as a understand and nothing bad to say about stuff onboard.
Apparently you can book from the i-site to avoid the compulsory online $2 "credit card" fees, but it is easy to find promo codes on the net to get 10% off or more which I don't know if they work when booking offline.
P.
Not much passenger space on the Feronia and little outdoor seating, however private cabin was good for getting away from the crowd, who weren't all wearing masks
Y.
Friendly efficient and hassle-free service. Accommodated my early arrival by conveniently placing me on the next available departure so I wouldn't have to wait several hours... kudos to Bluebridge
M.
Our journey from Picton to Wellington amazing service at both terminals as my 84 year old mother traveling with me transported to and from the ferry NGA Mihi Nui Bluebridge my mother and I will do it again definitely service with a smile 💜💚🤎💙♥️💛
M.
Managed to get on earlier sailing, good food (lamb shanks and orange roughly fish) cold beer, good movie, vaccine check.
B.
While they are older than the Interislander ferries, the food is good and there are plenty of spaces to lie down if you need to, with quiet rooms and plenty of couches. They also have cabins you can hire for the trip. Also they show movies for kids and adults. This is the first time we have traveled with Bluebridge; I would not hesitate to use them again.
C.
Best sailing trip to date on the Bluebridge ferry today from Picton to Wellington
S.
Great hospitality, awesome staff and fab food. Lovely clean cabins and unsuited. Best coffee.
Slept well with rough seas.
D.
Kia ora, had two sailings this weekend and both were running late. If I could improve something it would be the service - could be better right from checkin through to departure. Didn't feel any helpfulness or cheeriness. At the Picton checkin one of the staff used the word 'cripple' about three times which was disappointing. The sailing was good and uneventful. I liked that you could have a private room.
n.
Book our ticket through online. From Wellington to Picton. 8am ferry. Just to make sure you wake up earlier as the traffic in the morning is quite slow.
We arrived around 715am and it is still empty at the jetty.
The check in is easy, just show them the booking and you are ready.
Takes about 4 hours to reach Picton. You can get your breakfast inside the ferry. And of course there is a small theater, kids zone, reading zone so you can basically do a lot of things in the whole journey.
Pleasant experience
T.
Professional service. Good food on board. Wish I had booked a cabin. Needs more toilets.
G.
Good service and great people. Sadly the "early on-boarding" option for the 2am.ferry no longer exists. This was a game-chsnger and a real point of difference and value with The Interislander.
c.
great crew , helpful , dinner on the crossing
L.
Friendly staff and very systematic
The ferry is relatively high and they should consider to offer seasonal fare/weekday fare etc....
The Free wifi signal onboard was not strong
R.
Good all day breakfast nice and relaxing was 280 dallors cheaper than the inter Islander
M.
Comfortable vessel, and quick check in. Staff were friendly. Good selection of food on board. Free movie for kids to watch. There is a really nice viewing deck if the weather allows you to use it
S.
Booked a private cabin as well. Enjoyed our return trip but wasn't that happy with staff on Straitsman from Picton to Wellington (Dec 31). Some lady staff at the F&B were so rude and no one was guiding vehicle passengers to the lounges. Many of us were looking for the exit from the carpark. Our estimated arrival time was 11:30 am but disembarked at noon without any announcement for the delay.
B.
Really super helpful staff and decent food, a lovely way to cross between the islands.
B.
A solid 3 stars. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the boarding process for a car and 2 passengers was seamless. We also had a cabin. Which was clean comfortable and reasonably spacious and included . The facilities on the ship were good too and prices pretty reasonable. The public bathrooms could do with a clean more often though.
G.
Excellent. Smaller ship than that which the opposition sails, but big on friendly service.
A.
Always use Bluebridge, very accommodating, especially us towing a car behind camper.
P.
Ferry was 2.5 hours late....but of a bummer....but once on board, staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good and crossing was comfortable.
I.
We were on a 2.00am sailing from Wellington and hired a cabin
Very comfortable cabin, good facilities. Great service.
B.
First time on Bluebridge. Very impressed. Great food. I liked it.
However ... Check in Wellington could be made clearer. Very strange
G.
Was a lovely quiet crossing & very smooth. Good service also.
D.
First time using BlueBridge and was pleasantly surprised. Super easy to book (had morning times which worked for us). Good seats inside, and plenty of room outside. Easy trip back to Wellington.
B.
Very easy trip. People using the movie theatre for sleeping was pretty annoying, would have preferred the movie without the snoring.
L.
Great budget friendly service, however have patience if you are taking a vehicle aboard as the boarding process is slow.
C.
Used the ferry for our trip from Wellington to Picton and vice-versa. The ferry was cleaned, well organised and they were kind enough to let us embark once when we arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time. The on-board restaurant serve delicious and fresh food. Plenty of food and beverages to choose from.
N.
A great experience from start to finish. We sailed one & three quarter hours late but twenty minutes or so was made up in the smooth crossing. Would certainly consider using them again.
M.
I prefer blueridge to the competition the cabins were great got few hours sleep comfortably before our next leg of trip...
J.
Great service. Very clean and well equipped cabins. Expensive but as competition.
K.
Offered ice and fresh lemon by the staff to go with my drink I purchased which I thought was so thoughtful! It's the little things that count and make a trip that much easier and enjoyable 👍👍
L.
Amazing crossing, after being on both options I would very happily sale blue bridge again for my future trips.
D.
Excellent staff.
Slowly the quality of the food onboard is improving.
Still away to go re the food.
r.
Nothing to rave about, breakfast $20 not great. Ship tired and dirty
I.
Cross the strait regularly. Great customer service and cabins are great if on a night sailing. I have never had a delayed sailing and always found the food selection and pricing more than reasonable. After reading some of the other reviews, I wonder what it is like to be a nits picker
R.
Just great. Thanks
p.
Such a lovely change from the normal old crossing. Friendly staff. Great food selection. And if you are like us with a 9month old pay the extra and get a cabin for a nice quiet space with beds for bubs to sleep plus your own bathroom!
P.
Awesome friendly staff. I loved the cabin a nice powerful shower to make sure you are awake to continue your journey. If you over sleep there is a friendly wake up call
M.
I like their friendly manner and kiwi style. Not always on time but that's what it is. Few to many passengers not wearing 😷 in these covid times, which is a bit of a concern!
S.
Can't complain - well organised on and off - comfortable seating and foid not bad
C.
Easy company to deal with. Very accommodating, a small wait for getting car in board ferry, but nothing unexpected. Only thing that could be better is having the car parking positions in boat better labelled. After driving down country for nearly 10 hours, it was nice to see a friendly, welcoming face, made all the better by the fact that they had answers for every question I had, and although some felt like stupid questions, I wasn't made to feel dumb for asking.
m.
Was ok food a bit disappointing. Cook straight very nice although it was raining still good view of the sounds. Would be wonderful on a nice day to ge able to go outside but the weather does what it does and August still unpredictable
M.
Travelled on the smaller ferry. Not much seating and the projector was not working so no movie. The mens toilets needed work on the main door and inside needed some repair work. Crew were pleasant but very busy. Food at cafe was good but ran out before I could try some.
K.
Very smooth excellent service
S.
This was my second sailing with them. First was great, smooth sailing so to speak. The second was appalling, communication was non existent when we had to apparently take another route which resulted in an extra 1.5 hours on board.
Food and coffee were good though, much better then the competition across the road. However interislander are more reliable.
B.
The staff at check-in, through to parking our vehicle, to the cafe on the boat were friendly and helpful. The customer service on this Ferry is the winning point.
I strongly suggest that if you are sailing at 7pm that you take a good blanket as the ferry is very uncomfortably cold. I'm not sure why they have the air conditioning so low. The food was overpriced, $17 dollars for noodles and a few small chunks of chickens, rather underwhelming. The seats had not been vacuumed or cleaned between sailings, and had food on them which was pretty gross. There is nowhere to charge your phone/laptop etc. After traveling on the Interislander, I found the Bluebridge a much less comfortable and convenient journey.
K.
First time sailing across the the straits, excellent service and most of all great staff.
L.
Great service excellent staff. The dinner meals are excellent. Our preferred Cook Strait ferry.
P.
Great customer service! Fish and chips and the batista coffee are delicious 😋. Great way to travel.
M.
Fantastic staff, you should be proud of all who represent your company.
L.
Parked the Car & Caravan nicely & upstairs it was clean & comfort
G.
They are very good at keeping you informed of any delays due to weather conditions
E.
No cafe but has toilet and food medin
R.
Seamless from go to woah. Including a Mill-pond Strait this trip.
K.
Always the same great help to a deaf person, my 5th crossing both ways in 10 years
r.
Very good hospitality service and enjoyed the trip thoroughly
M.
The ferries are fine, they do the job. The staff are very friendly. The ships are certainly not new, and not the cleanest, but it's not like you have much choice. Certainly a big plus is that at least they are a little bit cheaper than the other operator.
D.
Was the smoothest sailing ever
A.
We had a wonderful trip. The views were stunning.
D.
Long climb up stairs to seating deck. Plenty of comfortable seating, cafe and bar open during sailing.
D.
The staff on the 2pm crossing from Picton to Wellington yesterday were so INCREDIBLE!! Crystal was just fantastic at helping me around on account of my broken foot. She checked in on me as often as she could, she gave me a charger cable when I couldn't find my own and made sure I was very comfortable. The boat was very nice, a wee bit bumpier than the interislander but manageable considering the weather wasn't great.
I found it strange that the check in time closed SO far in advance to the cars actually boarding - I assume it's a logistical thing.
I will definitely be coming on board again - I may even apply for work onboard the experience was so grand.
Thank you for your great service
L.
Nice sailing, comfortable, great food - good coffee.
R.
Broken toilets, dirty carpet and window sills. No staff to help me guiding where to go, one truck driver helped me instead. Coffee cups had no lids and on a rough sea it wasn't fun. But it was good to see staff helping parents with vomiting kids etc. They even had their clothes cleaned. But the father told us the clothes were still stinking like vomit. But...... Yes.. but.... It was very nice to see they were there to help. 4 stars!
A.
Absolute gem..awesome staff and facilities the free water and cookies are a.real surprise and a great treat
V.
Amazing trip. 1st time for me
Staff were awesome
R.
Liked the fact that there was a terminal you could wait in comfit on a cold and wet day.
A.
Amazing staffs and wonderful meals. Highly recommended!
v.
If you can... use the Straitsman...very very clean Ship. Clean smell, lovely staff on the ship
Food is ok, if you get in first, otherwise you get dry/ cold chips(the staff made fresh chips)
Not to keen about the staff on the other end if the phone...I asked what happens if the roads closed due to flooding?
Answer...well there are other ways into wellington..(places she mentioned might as well of been in Spanish) never heard of Ngaio Gorge or "The other Gorge " or where Hayward Hill is??
The clean comfortable ship made up for the Bluebridge operator though.
u.
In 3 Cook Strait crossing,
always a nice and cheap ride, but the boarding phase is soooooooo long.
Waiting in the car queue for 1h30, departure obviously later than scheduled...
P.
You either treat this as a necessity in crossing the Cook Strait from North Island to South Island or back, or you make it part of your journey and your experience. Travelling through the Marlborough Sounds is spectacular. Your experience will have a dependency on the weather. The ship itself was functionary, with good seating and a cinema aimed at the younger audience. There was a small restaurant/cafe on board.
W.
Very helpful shore staff, and very helpful boat crew
g.
Hospitality staff are cheerful and obliging and stay that way through some pretty trying conditions. A+ for them.
Food is pretty good and the fish and chips are a step above those sold on the interislander ferries.
Overall an enjoyable experience.
m.
Not overly impressed at this early stage, 2.5 hour delay, shoddy on deck parking, there will be door damage to some for sure, furniture messy and worn. First time of bluebridge, I think the Interislander is better.
S.
Had a good experience with Bluebridge...
All and all would recommend.
R.
Great carrier in Bluebridge.
We were new HT drivers and they went that extra mile to help with our big bus. Pretty good food and coffee on board. Great crossing.
Well done.
K.
Not too bad. Only thing that was annoying is that you are meant to disable for car alarm so naturally you are on a ferry and its moving..i.e its going to set it off..obviously there are some who cannot follow simple instructions to disable there alarm. Other than that was a pretty relaxing sail
H.
Excellent trip. Relaxing and a good variety of food.
S.
Got a room for the late crossing beautiful and clean..soft bed loved it
c.
Well organised, really chilled experience. Recommended
T.
Quick an courteous once loading. Pretty flat crossing today.
E.
Had a booking for 10 . March and back to north island on the 10 . April with our motorhome. Booking is as easy as and price very affordable, and when we where early at picton i did give it a chance to ask for a re-booking to an earlyer date. Not a problem with bluebridge and staff on both sides exceptional friendly 👍👍👍. Will be back for sure 😉
M.
This is my first time on the Straitnz Bluebridge ferry and it is 5 STAR rating, nice clean cabins, awesome movie rooms and the atmosphere,I would recommend Bluebridge to all my family and friends.
M.
I took a return trip between Welly and Picton. Staff wee nice and friendly.
However, check in with a car is a hassle. After you check in, we had to wait for more than 90 minutes in a long queue of cars before they let us in to the ship.
My advise, if you come with your car, be the last one to check in, so you don't waste your time waiting.
G.
Went on there twice this week and they played the worst movie both times ive ever seen. EMMA. Even to the point where they play deleted scenes .
Scenery awsome . Friendly staff.
J.
Always a great trip. Hope to see more good deals coming up now we might travel more with new camper.
J.
The sailing was nearly 3 hours late which disrupted our travel plans for the rest of the day
M.
Nice comfortable sail friendly helpful staff
F.
Good experience. Simple and fast check in process. The lounge was a wee bit cold but I was really disappointed that free plastic water bottles were handed out during the checkout process. I had expected more from a company that sails the Cook Strait. Clean seas and plastic bottles do not go together unfortunately.
b.
Very friendly staff. And a good service.
A.
Their online booking was user friendly. Their call centre service was excellent. Their front of desk staff were awesome. Luggage didn't get lost so that was also awesome. Really easy and stress free.
D.
The staff where awesome as when I crashed my car down south they were happy to hold my spot for a week to get a new car sorted out. They were awesome gave me a cabin at a discount because of my crash& to top it off the ferry was running late. The staff were awesome though they gave us bottles of water & cookies from cookietime for the inconvenience& with that bottle of water I was able to make a hot cuppa for me & my brother. I'll happily travel with them anytime
R.
Love it staff are great
C.
Love Bluebridge. The staff give good service. Love that if you book early enough you can book a cabin. This is especially helpful if you are driving further south as you can have a sleep. The sailing in the night is good as they let the people into their cabins earlier so it give you extra time sleeping.
S.
Was good. Delayed loading was bit annoying. Cabin great.
K.
Lovely trip to picton. Friendly staff. It was my first time using the ferry, and took the car on my myself. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
K.
Prices are cheaper than InterIslander. Bit dated but ok.
J.
Excellent ferry operator with competitive pricing.
R.
Slightly better than the interislander overall. Pluses are the foods better and cheaper so are the fares, interiors are in the same condition being a bit worn but they are always on the move and are ferrys not luxury liners. Minus being the ferry I was on and I'm not sure about the rest of the fleet was smaller than the interislander fleet so had less space and things to do on board, but bang for buck I would say bluebridge.
K.
Has to be good, its the start for our vacation to the wonderful South Island.
L.
First time using it. Lovely to be able to watch a movie....enjoyed Jumanji 😁🤓. Food a little pricey. Top viewing deck was great, maybe a few more benches. Til the next time! 😁
r.
Would just like to say a big thank you to all concerned, right from your txt explaining the late departure, and to the bus driver that picked us up, to the lovely ladies at check-in, to all the fantastic staff on board today 2/4/21,to the extremely pleasant sailing and the van rides both ways, (due to health problem) the meal and coffees, first time we have sailed with you, you provided an excellent service, and will definitely sail again with you,
Kudos to you bluebridge, and kudos to all staff that portrayed their happiness in working for you, kudos
To very happy passengers
Raylene and Mike Wright
G.
Good service well done on a smooth fast sailing
R.
The ferry was as good as anything you could find in Scotland - MacBraynes Island ferries. Friendly staff, great Cafe, good meals and plenty of seating space. Easy drive on and drive off.
I.
excellent apart from commercial drivers not social distancing or wearing masks
M.
Great service! Although the supervisor was clearly annoyed and borderline rude to me after I made an honest mistake with my booking. Will still sail with them though!
M.
Awesome just awesome. Service 5 stars everything 5 stars.
S.
This was my 1st time travelling on the blue bridge ferry and also to the north island while on board this boat I spoke to a guy behind the bar called HARRISON he was so knowledgeable had all the answers I needed to know being my 1st time on the ferry and his coffee skills were simply AMAZING BEST COFFEE EVER with staff like him working on the boat it certainly makes me want to use this service again
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍😎
A.
Nice crossing, but couldn't check in and board at 11 pm as they stated when we booked the cabin. So only 3 hours sleep on board instead of the 6 hours we had expected
D.
Great trip, friendly service and a website that works. I was able to change my reservations easily while on the road...10 out of 10
P.
Great service will now use only them friendly stafg
L.
Better than expected....plenty of room...food was great and no extra cost for the movie. Better than the interislander service and Better bang for your buck.
T.
Very efficient staff. Most helpful
F.
Had issues with no wi fi a few times. The cabins are very basic and showers not always working good
A.
Such an amazing experience with the Blue bridge. Totally recommend to everyone.
p.
very pleasant crossing we had a very comfy cabin
H.
Been traveling on this for over 20 years. My preferred boat by far and will always use them where I can
J.
Great ship was a early cruze. Wifi is SUPER fast other wise it was a good sail to Picton. Thanks
A.
Great sail. Nice ship. I had a cabin good to lie down to pass the time on an evening sail back to picton.
J.
Was good to travel with no complaints
D.
Amazing had a very enjoyable trip, recommend getting one of the cabins for extra shut eye. Only thing that was disappointing (but suspect this is health and safety) is that when you are waiting to put your car on the ferry and take it off, it needs to be turned off... Which meant on a freezing cold night it was very cold in the car whilst waiting. Otherwise I will be back, thank you for making my first ever ferry crossing a great one... Oh and the sandwhiches.. Really good
R.
Very enjoyable trip smooth sailing
L.
A reliable company to travel with.pleasant people to deal with.
R.
Great trip on a beautiful clear calm day
M.
Bluebridge, as always, impressive. They spotted me with a walking stick when I checked in and from that point on all staff were clearly aware I may need help and offered it at every opportunity. Great corporate culture.
J.
Really nice get a cabin tho awesome to chill in
O.
Very confusing using this ferry service. Not enough staff to ask directions. Got lost trying to find my car and was not the only one! Three stars for activities but that about it. No signage or help anywhere! Not a professional service and very budget. Felt very unimportant
L.
Enjoyed my trip with Bluebridge Ferry. Friendly, prompt, efficient service. Totally recommend this service.
D.
Ive travelled with these guys numerous times over the years, as allways very friendly staff, great food, good clean cabins, great way to travel the strait, ill be back.............
A.
Easy to book online with competitive prices. Easy to check in. Clear, simple instructions for boarding with a vehicle. Smooth journey. Viewing room for kids and a seperate one for adults. Excellent scenery. Good cafe/food service. A great company to use for sailing.
J.
Awesome company to travel with. All the crew and office staff are very helpful and friendly
H.
I happy with blueridge ferry trip
H.
Efficient well organized.staff very helpful
M.
I was feeling ready as when I crossed the Cook Strait, but that feeling passed and was replaced by one of gratitude. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks heaps begrudge.
K.
I just wanna say that Heath who is one of the ferry attendants was such a fantastic host to us. He recommended the fish which was really tasty and went out of his way to find out what was in the vegetarian quiche (which was really nice) Heath was really friendly and really made our journey and experience on the ferry heaps better. Oh and the chocolate cake was amazingggg!! THANK YOU HEATH FOR PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE! 😊✌️
B.
Best price for traveling with motorhome.
K.
Just wondering if it's common for the service to run behind time as both sailings we have just sailed left very late. Everyone arrives when required and we have to sit around waiting and waiting. Very hard to make plans when time tables are not kept.
I.
Comfortable seats and great meals. 👍
S.
A rough crossing and I was seasick. Impressed by kindness of passengers and staff offering cups of ice, sick bags and a bin sack. Comfortable seats, large view windows. Apparently there were dolphins. Carpet needs a good clean (not because of seasickness). Car was on exposed deck and covered in salt crystals when drove off.
T.
Great ship, especially the bigger one. Lovely to have our own room. Staff were super helpful.
d.
Nice ships great crew very helpful
L.
They ask you to come an hour before departure time but they ended up late. Take your pictures outside, since the windows are dirty. The seats stay in a upright position, making the long trip less comfortable. On the positive side, the big vessel is quite steady. It keeps you from getting sea sick.
S.
Easy crossing staff were very professional.
T.
Not luxury by any means but a decent alternative to taking the Interislander.
I took the ferry both ways and both times purchased the extra cabin and both times they were pretty disgusting. The linen had stains and spots, the bedside table area clearly had something spilt on it and wasn't wiped down at all and the aircon area was caked up with dust, fluff and who knows what else. Id give it a miss unless you're really after a rest.
The food is excellent and the kitchen and service staff all seemed very friendly and good at what they do.
Both times the ferry left, and arrived, late. So plan on another hour or two on top of the times listed.
All together it wasnt too bad and I think if I hadn't taken the cabin extra both times id probably have given it a 4 star.
T.
Loved travelling on the feronia you have access to the front of the ferry with amazing views 3 hundy 60 and free movies winning all the way around
K.
Enjoyed my trip to Picton I always like the late night sailing. But must try out the cabins next time.
J.
Always use these guys for the crossing with or without our caravan. Good service and good food. Well done Team BB.
M.
If taking overnight cabin, be aware that the wake up call - over loudspeakers - can be quite early. 5:15am in our case.
Y.
When I spilled my very hot tea down myself staff where great at cleaning up myself & floor and made me another tea. Wonderful as I was in shock.
J.
Very clean and Tidy, polite to talk to
M.
Very comfortable crossing but each time I cross the sailing is delayed. I must be the unlucky one
D.

M.
Great service friendly staff pleasant trip.
D.
Limited toilet facilities not ideal. Limited seating on busy crossing. Otherwise a smooth sailing
W.
Its a ferry company, nothing special about them anymore. New owners doing their level best to drive down wages and working conditions.
G.

s.

M.

M.
We went on the 2:30am sail. Got a cabin, was Awesome. Comfy, warm and slept soundly until our wake up call.
K.

J.

A.
One of two ferry companies crossing Cook Strait. Wellington to Picton or return. Terminal for Bluebridge is easy access than interislander. It is more closer than Wellington City centre, walk from Parliment take less than 10mins, 20mins from TePapa museum, instead of 40mins and 50mins for Interislander Terminal. Price for the crossing is little cheaper too, but Ships is smaller and older than interislander.
B.
Pleased with the ferry service
A.
Love Bluebridg. We have been loyal to them for about 30 years
P.
Very efficient on/off loading for vehicles. Overpriced food and drink, but what can you do? It's not as if you can walk to a shop for cheaper. Lol.
C.
Great value. They may insist that u come an hour earlier and i would say comply as far as possible. But they will accomodate you as far as possible.
n.

Great staff, great user experience, great prices.

Excellent travel option across Cook Strait. When taking a car across we often get the 2:30am sailing. They let you on at 12:00 midnight and if you book a cabin you can have a good night's sleep and shower before driving off at 6:00am. Booking a cabin is a good idea anyway as Cook Strait can be very rough and lying down helps. It also has the advantage of your very own toilet!
W.
