L.Just going to say a massive thanks to Dr Dani for taking amazing care of our Polly who had a gastro emergency during Boxing Day! She kept us informed and definitely made me feel at ease, frequently called throughout the two day stay during investigations, surgery and recovery. Polly has finally come home from her regular Vet after a day and so far so good, she is very alert, very cuddly and is slowly gaining back her appetite!
If your pet has an unexpected issue after hours or during weekends/public holidays, I would recommend bringing them here because the staff seems to be really professional and obviously very skilled at what they do.

Solid Rona practices in place without it being painful.
M.We rescued a wobbly young gull from the perils of the road and were able to take JL Seagull to this vets within minutes after the initial phone call. He didn't enjoy his ride there unfortunately (probably a Ford fan) but he was welcomed with open wings and great care from VSG in Mt Wellington.
Followed up with them after a day and he was well enough to be taken to a sanctuary to fully recover. Superb service indeed, thank you so much :-)

T.TPLO surgery for our 2 year old mastif x dog. He is a monster and they handled him with lots of love. Always helpful when we call and you can tell they are really trying to understand your questions before they give an answer. I wish they worked on humans too. Grateful for all your hard work!!!!! Thank you for everything!

M.Staff here are welcoming and very good at their job! From professional assessments of situations on how to approach/deal with yr pet on arrival to giving comfort to owners whose pets are in their "sunset" moments.
M.These guys were so amazingly helpful and compassionate at a very traumatic time and they made a life and death difference. My girl went in really really sick and thanks to them she came home. You couldn't put your family member in better hands. (Oh and get pet insurance!)

J.Very thorough and they went the extra miles researching overseas journals etc to find out about our dog's unusual condition. We had thought we would be saying goodbye to her but she's almost back to her old self. Lovely people
T.They did an excellent job with Rufus who had swallowed tree branches and was in need of urgent care.
S.We spent vast sums of money and time here, and they always did their best. Only criticism is Mark might be better behind the scenes instead of engaging in front line consults as we always found him very domineering and he didn't seem to really listen much sorry. I think his staff might find it very difficult to challenge anything he said which is a problem. Customers too. Thank you for all you did for our beloved animals now at rest.
N.You have to have a referral from your own vet to attend this specialist hospital.
The care and attention my cat received was exemplary. The vets and staff are friendly and helpful, and each patient is treated by specialists that have the animal's health at the forefront of the treatment. They were upfront about costs and procedures, and have good follow up communication as well.
J.Nicol the best receptionist around so understanding an empathic having had the same experience. Mark one of the vet specialists is the most amazing person. I cannot speak more highly of him very humble I'm glad I left my dog in great hands.
i.The staff at VSG have been very supportive, ensuring that we understand what they have completed and expected side effects, they're very friendly and good with the animals, always has been a good experience with a personal touch when following up/arranging pick up of the patient.
R.Highly recommend VSG. We've had 2 dogs in their care for different procedures and both went fantastically well. They have top doctors who spend a good amount of time informing you every step of the way, and our dogs have had excellent after care from their nurses as well.
B.The entire team are amazing and helpful and fully trust my fur baby with them. They've been absolute and thorough stars all the way through.
M.They are experts. Very friendly and helpful team. Tommy had done everything that he could to save our little girl. Unfortunately, our young beautiful loyal cat couldn't make it.
D.Our fur baby Stan was brought in with 20 kidney stones, Aparna was wonderful with him and he was operated on and is at home recouping. Thanks to the team of VSG and Somerville Vets, Stan and his family are very grateful for your care and attention.

M.Have had my cat here twice in the past for emergency care. They are pretty thorough but equally as expensive. If your pet requires ongoing meds after being here rather ask for a prescription and get them from an online vet.

T.It was emergency my dog Lady had cut the back of her paw on a broken bottle in the park when chasing some chickens when we got there my dog became number one she got all the attention needed to repair the damage cause by the broken bottle the staff were very attentive for my girl diffenitly recommend VSG if your animals has emergency
