Absolutely loved our stay here. Wally was such a thoughtful and generous host, I utterly adored him! The beds were super comfortable (even better than my own bed at home!), the entire suite was comfortable really. I loved that there were make up wipes in the bathroom. And my favourite motel hot chocolate! Yum! I was impressed at the van on hand to take us to and from the wedding venue, only $5 return trip with proceeds being donated to the local rugby club. Wally was super hospitable, even doing a second taxi run to the wedding venue for my partner and I after I missed the first one due to having issues with my fake lashes. 😅 I hope we left our rooms in an acceptable state! Thank you so much for creating such a comfortable environment. I definitely hope to return again in the future! True blue excellent kiwi hospitality that you don't see often these days. Thank you! 🥰

Awesome place. Clean and tidy I slept super soundly, beds were comfy and the mountain view gorgeous. Definitely recommend the Darfield motel. 👍👍👍

Wonderful place to stay. Very clean, right in town and the owners couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. Wally was an absolute pleasure & nothing was too much trouble. They even had a van service to drop-off and pick guests up from the function we were all attending. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again when back in Darfield.

Booked this motel for work, and the team staying cannot talk highly enough of Wally and his staff. True Southland hospitality! The motel was clean and tidy. Rooms are warm and welcoming. Thank you Wally and team for a great experience.

If only there were more stars to put! Wally and his team went above and beyond for our group during our stay. We made a small muck up with numbers and Wally went out of his way to accomodate for us and all with a smile. I can not recommend this place enough! Thanks so much Wally and Co!

I don't think that you should expect any more than what these people do as far as a little Country Motel - the price was reasonable - the hosts were amazing and the beds was so comfortable all-in-all the room was very clean and I would definitely go back again!

We stayed on the way from Blenheim to Franz Josef. I researched it online months ago and it looked good but I was concerned that it may be a bust, I've been burned before with online reviews and "selective photography". My doubts were unfounded, it is a really good place at a very reasonable price. A clean, sizeable, comfortable room with a private outdoor terrace too. We were treated to a friendly welcome and the room had everything we needed and more besides. If you are passing through, or if you are needing a place to stay in the area for a few days, I can thoroughly recommend it. The only thing I would say is that if you are staying more than a couple of days you may soon run out of local dining options.

Best place around town. Friendly owners easy to speak with. Decent and warm rooms. Everything you need and they're more then happy to help with anything you may need.

Super comfortable and clean room with everything you need. Host very accommodating and even tracked us down in town the next day to return forgotten items. Highly recommend.

Amazing! Cannot rate them highly enough! We booked last minute and they were super friendly, understanding, and professional. Room was ideal, facilities were clean and ideal for what we needed. Great distance from the city, airport, and ski fields!

Lovely clean and tidy motel with friendly manager. Leaving the car here while we travel on Tranzalpine train tomorrow, station just across the road, and returning day after following overnight stay in Greymouth.

Owners really helpful and nice. All rooms well equiped. Rooms big and clean. Kitchen had everything what was needed. Free Wifi. Good value for the money you pay. Amazing place well keeped. Will be back for sure!

Family-owned and operated motel in Darfield. We stayed in a luxury spa bath unit that seemed recently renovated and was well-appointed. Very clean and friendly reception.
